I have a laika ecovip 6.1 2004, never turned a screw in my life before and this tutorial was quite easy for me. Our toilet wasnt holding water in the bowl, all sorted now!

Thank you so much! If I had tried to do this using only the printed directions I received with my seal kit, it probably would have taken me 4 hours instead of the 1.5 that it took me. I found that a small, half-inch box-end wrench worked well to unscrew the closet bolts from the floor. Also, the spring on the blade mechanism on my toilet was reverse from yours. So the long end was the end that I was maneuvering with the channel locks instead of the short end like you said in your video. Don't know that it matters though. Thanks again for this great video! It was so helpful to have the visuals and tips in your narrative.

I have not experienced a leak only while setting on the toilet. If the toilet is holding water it sounds like the blade seal is probably good. I would suspect the Closet Flange Seal. That's on the bottom where the toilet connects to the tank. The Thetford Bravura kit for that is: Part # 31115 Closet Flange Seal Service Package (includes closet flange seal, 2 closet bolts and 2 nuts). Good Luck.

My toilet doesn't leak unless you're sitting on it and it is always giving off a horrible odor but the toilet still holds water in the bowl. Which seal would be the cause of this?

Great Video Bill. One question you might be able to help with. After doing mine a while back the pedal does not have any play in it so you have to be very careful pressing it to add water without opening the plate seal. Looks like I need to take it apart again, so that I can get a bit of play in it, any ideas for adding the play without taking it all apart again? Thanks
A few years back I removed the toilet and when it was on a bench I rebent or un bent the two rods to work correctly. I now have about 1/4 peddle of just water. And the bottom slide valve opens completely. Yes it's worth the time.

I highly recommend using auto hose clamps on all the hoses. Zipties did not keep the water from coming out.

Did you replace the mechanism assembly...or were you able to just order the seals...the seal kits I'm looking at dont have the foam seal?
Is it possible to just replace the top seal from inside the bowl without taking the toilet off?
I don't think that would work.Once you get it apart you will see.

Wtf why take the toilet off when you can just pull the old seal out and pop a new one in ?? Seems like a waste of time and a shot job to boot !!!???
OK. This is just what worked for me. And the procedure recommended by the manufacture.
WTF You must be a Magician if you can replace the pivot arm seal without removing the toilet. I'm impressed, keep up the good work Mam
