One of the few times my music tastes crossed with my dad’s was one day, during my senior year in high school (1982-83), I was I
Lying on my bed listening to my stereo. My dad popped his head in the door when Dirty White Boy was playing. He looked at me sort of quizzically, and asked, “What’s the name of this band?”
    I said, “Foreigner.”
He said, “Figures,” and popped out.
Had to laugh. I’ll never forget that moment.

God bless you, Sammy! Been a fan of the Red Rocker since Standing Hampton and I’m still going as long as you are. So many memories wrapped up in your music I can’t begin to list them. The release of 5150, for instance. The day of the release, the local DJ locked himself in the studio and played Why Can’t This Be Love over and over again. I was on my way to work, laughing and singing. I swear by the time my commute was done, I knew all the lyrics! Years later, I ran into that DJ in a professional capacity and we shared a great laugh and connection over that time.
I got a million of these. Thanks, again! You are a treasure to the music world and all of us who need it to live. Keep on rockin’, my friend.

It' was ironic to see Mick Jones associated with NASCAR , when Foreigners Lou Gramm and original keyboard player Al Greenwood wrote "REV ON THE RED LINE " it was during the "HEAD GAMES " 1979/1980 tour the 3 British in Foreigner thought the song would flop . The 3 Americans in Foreigner had to explain to the Brits in the band, about American men's love and fascination for race/muscle cars 🚗. Thus "Rev on the red line" was one of the most requested songs during the "Head Games " tour especially in the Midwest.

If you believe what Lou said (which I do) Mick screwed him out of a lot of song credits/royalties. Great guy.

Yep, got that right !! There was an interview with mick and Lou a number of years ago And you could see how uncomfortable Lou was sitting Slightly in front of king Mick. He had a look on his face of a kid from school who had his head pushed down a toilet!! - God awful shame.

@@chromemusic4401 Actually Lou left in 1990 (the first time ) because Mick was screwing him out of credit and songwriting ratios but in 2003 Lou left again because old wounds didn't really heal, they were (musically) creatively impudent and mainly due to Micks alcoholism. Lous been sober from drugs and alcohol for 31yrs without a single relapse.
