- The engine bay was already pretty clean, but I only like to dress it prior to polishing/waxing. I washed, sprayed with APC, agitated, rinsed, and dressed it.

Thanks for recognizing the need for smaller bottles, Matt. While I have wanted to give hyper dressing it a try for awhile now, I haven't been able to bring myself to buy it because I know 3/4 of the gallon will end up in the trash.
Smells good too with the moldy chunks hahahahah

I literally do the same process. Easy and works excellent 👌🏼. That dressing lasts forever like you said, a little lasts for years 👍🏻
Why did you not show us the engine when the hyper.dressing was dry

It doesn’t take long to sort an engine bay unless it’s really bad and takes even less to maintain. I use Perl at 3:1.

I think its worth mentioning that you shouldn't wash the engine bay with a still hot engine because you might cause some condensation inside some components.

Yeah he said not to wash it hot , you also can cause the block to crack if it’s really hot

I clean the engine bay during every wash which is usually every two or three weeks, I couldn't go any longer without doing it

Kai -291 depends on the volume of cars and what you use it for. Matt has used lots of different trim dressing products besides megs

I own a 2013 Alpine White and I'm obsessed with keeping it clean and perfect. So far I've only cleaned the engine using wet rags/brushes + degreaser which is not giving me the desired results but always hesitant to use water on it. Seeing you do it and promising it ain't going to mess anything up gives me a bit more confidence to jet it a bit. Will still cringe first time I do it though. :D
Think about Jeeps and Range Rovers that drive through rivers.
Hyper dressing 3:1 for tires, IMHO gives a much more natural appearance than CP Pearl. Plus, you just walk away, no need to wipe off.

I see you didn’t cover your alternator with all that water ,
That would be my only concern, I guess with the pressure washer it minimizes the amount of water flooding the engine bay
Think about this logically. If you alternator couldn't get wet, then it would in some sort of sealed enclosure.

I've heard, this will not do any damage on the engine, but it will help rust all the screws on the engine bay. Thats why im scared to wash mine, any thoughts on that ?
This is not something that you're going to be doing with every wash. If you do this a few times a year, then you will have nothing to worry about.
How to do this if there is a battery or any visible electrics inside the engine bay?
What about the edc wires can you get those wet since their exposed?

not sure if you made a video on this, i know this is a detailing channel, but what are your thoughts on buying a used vehicle vs new vehicle especially a german one where there are people that don't take care of these cars as well as others would. what do you look for that would make you feel comfortable buying a used vehicle.

I'm in a bit of a different position now than I once was, so I'm a bit jaded. I'm looking for a low mileage car that is an extreme example of used. Meaning, it hasn't had much time to get messed up due to the low miles, but that comes at a cost.

This is completely unrelated to the video but what are your thoughts on radar detectors? Any mirror tap brands you recommend?
I always use a Blendmount, on BMW a hardwire kit and add a fuse to the fuse box. This car will get a Uniden R3.

Would you spray the engine bay with just water coming straight from the hose? I have a blow dryer but no de-ionized water. Or better question under what circumstances would you not wash this engine bay?
That will introduce a lot more water, but I've done it with an Eley nozzle. Works well.
