Yup, my Civic took me a total of 22 hours over three days to do a full wash, clay, headlight restoration, chip repair, exhaust tip polish, spot wet sanding, compound, polish, and wax. Felt like I ran a marathon by the end of it. So damn sore.

Thanks so much for all your videos over the years. I chuckle a little because I have a friend named Dominic who was always obsessed with cleaning his cars. I made the mistake of saying we should wash cars together. Mine was done in an hour and he did a 4 hour job. Now I see why. I am a bit lazy when it comes to my cars as I’ve only done a decontamination once. I do maintain them well though, with the beadmaker which is amazing. I’m gonna do it again on my newer Jeep. Thanks again for all your advice.

I must tell You, Matt... Powerlock + is nutso slick! It's the easiest product I've ever used. THANK YOU! Detailing a '19 Subaru Forester.. Medium Blue. It was iron x'd, foamed/washed(Reset) Griot's clayed, dried, Perfect finish, Eraser, Power lock +. It's curing now. 845 is next! The freaking paint looks like a mirror and it feels like glass! W O W! THANK YOU!! What a combination!! 😳😎😃

Just finished off a 8 year old bottle of Menzerna Power Lock. I get annoyed by the application of it (especially of the wifes minivan) but the removal and the feeling is just pure happiness. I topped it with Meguiars UFF, we will see how it works out. I am out of Collinite 845, that bottle ran out a while ago (same age as Powerlock bottle). Love the videos.

I know I've commented on another of your vids..but man...it's all about hand applied shine. A great shine is not only visual - it's tactile. And not a water hose test in sight...thank you for that.

I just went through compounding and polishing my daily driver Civic Si in Dyno Blue Pearl.. Used Griots Boss creams and it came out great. Now winter will start any day now.. and I just got Powerlock and 845 on in the nick of time. We'll see how the combo holds up to the harsh Minnesota winter. My paint has its flaws but this combination definitely has it looking up to it's full potential... and I can totally relate to that Powerlock wipe off. It's great. I really like the application of the 845 on top as well. So easy with such little product. I only had it sweat on my hood.. but it was because I used too much product there. Other than that no issues. The Bead Maker step sounds interesting. I cant wait until Spring so I can do this all over again. :)

This combination makes no sense to me, but I would enjoy hearing comments and being educated on the following.. 1) If you're the type of person to put wax over sealant, then you're gonna rewax before it's worn down to the sealant. So what's the point of the underlying sealant? And, 2) The underlying sealant only makes the wax more likely to fail more quickly, because that's what sealant is designed to do... prevent things above from bonding. What am I missing?

The hazing on shadow line kidney grille has to be refined with super/ultra finish polish as menzerna 3800 or similiar with ultrasoft pad, i recomend rupes white pad. Those piano black panels are pain in the a** to properly refine.

I've been looking for a video of a professional detailer applying the sealant/wax combination with a machine buffer. Is there a reason you wouldn't? I thought the idea of the machine polisher is that it saves time and does a better job than can be had with hand application. New to detailing. If it does it, I will. It doesn't always happen, especially since the weather has broken here. It usually does it when it's really hot and sunny.

Question for those who want to reapply after the first application 6 months ago. Do I need to strip the existing coating off before re-applying every 4-6 months? Or do I simply wash and reapply the coating? This is based on not needing to paint correct. Just to re apply since product lasts 4-6 months.

    • @ObsessedGarage

Hi there, love your videos ! How would C 845 hold up in a tropical climate like the Caribbean islands ? Temperature there will go up to 100 °F and it's damp... (It's never as hot & dry as in your southern states) Was also thinking of Finish Kare 1000P for that reason. For the moment I will be using after Sonax spray &seal. I have no garage so the car stays outside, so the curing time of the wax has to be rather short... Would love to know your opinion on that... I once had my hood painted, by the tone of it wasn't right, because of the sun ray wear and kept trying to correct it with darker wax layers.
That trunk is easy, just remove it and send it to the Maaco shop. 😂
