I turn my tv off for 1 minute. Removed batteries from control remote. Wait bother minute. Pressed the power bottom on control remote. Placed back batteries on the control remote. Turn on TV. It worked. Thank you very much. You are VERY smart
Thank you SO much! The first one worked for my Onn TV. 🙏
this helped me so much.. thank you first step clicked!
It worked for me also, thank you. Simply turned off the TV for a minute and then plugged it back in.
Am I the only one on here that it did not help me get my tv to work?????
Nope I tried many different things and mines still out
same i was in the middle of watching a show and suddenly my tv went dim and began flickering and nothing has worked so fair
WE FOUND SOMETHING THAT REALLY WORKS AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO IT REPEATEDLY! BUY A ROKU STICK AND STICK IT INTO THE TV! It sounds stupid, I don't know if all onn TVs are Roku setup already but mine is. The trick in the video would work for us to restart the TV. But the same movie or show that wouldn't play before wouldn't play again after we did this reset. My husband got this crazy idea to pull the Roku stick out of one of our other TVs and plug it into our onn TV that is having the issues. IT TOTALLY WORKS! Just be sure that you are using the apps on the Roku stick and not the actual TV. We have been able to watch the movies and shows that we could not watch before and we have been using it for about a week now with no issues at all! I hope this helps you. I know you would have to buy another Roku stick but that definitely beats buying a new TV 😁
Did not work!!!
Didnt work for me...
I've figured out (with my tv, not sure if this works on all the tvs but give it a try for your tv) turn on a video, any video or live tv will work, hit the settings button * > picture settings > customize picture mode > fine tune picture > and turn your backlight to 25%... I've tested this for over a month and haven't had my screen turn black since. I watched a few electricians talk about his problem and all of them have said its a lack of power to the back-lit LEDS. I tried this and it worked like a charm. Hopefully it helps with all the the other ONN roku smart tvs out there, good luck! 😁
Thank you sooo much this worked for me!! Went to bed tv was fine and when I turned it on the next morning the screen only flashed for a sec. I used the screen reader setting to navigate in order to do this. Gaming laptop and Xbox and router plugged into the same outlet which I’m sure wasn’t helping.. I had my bf sub to your channel.
Thank you sir the 3rd trick fixed it for me

Just Bought A cheap little 32” onn Yesterday to last for one week while on vacation After one day and 8 hrs of run time on it, mine shit the bed. So now I’m sitting on TH-cam bitching about not being able to watch tv lol. Same exact shitty tv as tcl. Hisense is a far better choice for a decent quality yet low budget tv in my opinion.
My hinessee just went out for no damn reason had it for 2 years but shit I haven’t done nun to it lol annoying asf🤦🏾♂️

Ive been unplugging this P.O.S for over a year now. It happens all the time, itll be good for a while then the screen goes black. Its a garbage tv. If anyone reads this thats planning on getting one, dont bother. Spend a few extra bucks on a better brand tv.
Context: I have a 70" ONN Roku smart tv. The screen goes black but theres still sound, I'll unplug the tv, let it sit for hours, plug it back in and after a bit of watching, the screen goes black again. The unplug and plug back in is only a temporary fix that lasts less than an hour.
Don't bother with this garbage, the savings aren't worth the aggravation
