I hated painting the Tyranid half of the Leviathan box, or I would have picked them. The models look fantastic, and I highly enjoy walking past the shelf they're on, but until I've got a proper spray booth and a better air brush, I'm not painting any more of them. The Tyranid half is the main reason I wanted the box, too. I painted the Space Marine half as a Blood Angels successor chapter. The model selection didn't make a huge amount of sense for Blood Angels, though, and I finished them and left them untouched until the Christmas boxes were announced. I immediately _jumped_ on the Space Marines box. It got me the speed and chainswords my guys were missing. A Chaplain on Bike, Infiltrators, and Blade Guard Veterans have been added since. @@morewarhammer When you both expand your armies later definitely consider picking up the Guard christmas box that came out recently. 2 Rogal Dorns can be a nightmare for many armies to deal with as long as you screen them properly with your infantry. A lot of players casually throw them up into no-mans land to get a firing angle on an enemy unit and then get them tagged/killed in response. Then they say they're too many points for what they do. They're excellent if used properly. The elite infantry killer build with Oppressor/Punisher/Multimelta/Melta is a great loadout.

I usually do the main coat and subsequent highlights for the whole army at once with an airbrush and then break them into batches of 10-20 models and do the details in steps and then basing all at once for the whole army at the end!
@morewarhammer for the nids I start with pallid witch flesh all over the skin areas and then a thin mix of bugmans glow with the airbrush just into the softest spots to add some warmth (bellies, joints under neck anywhere where the soft skin would be), then the carapace gets a coat of black and a drybrush of eshin grey and then dawnstone on the highest points. And finally for all the weapon glows or poison tips on melee weapons a thin white oil into the recesses of the glowing area and then a light spray of white to give the base to the glow and then use a fluro green through the airbrush until it looks sufficiently glowy! TLDR: pale white flesh and black carapace with a sickly green glow!

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out! Purely because it’s so different to my other projects I probably would’ve gone Orks or Chaos.
Thanks Joe, it’s hard to beat Orks isn’t it.
@@morewarhammer love the Orks in the lore just happy to be smashing the galaxy up, haven’t got into Xenos yet but would probably go for either them or Votann as they got some much kitbashing potential
Since you plan to paint a tyranid or two anytime soon may i SUGGEST to make some of them hyena theamed? Make both spotted hyenas striped hyenas and any other hayena pattern you can find- their lore can be that their fleet has eaten a world that had hyena like creatures
Ohh my word that’s such a badass idea! I wish I try that scheme.
Well...I got myself those two boxes for Christmas... coincidence? Or aliens maybe?
Clearly a legend! 🤌🏻
45K views Ben! Awesome 🙌
Thanks man. Crazy to think this many people watched it.
Good job Olli
The best boy did his job
11:11 the box was a paid actor
👀 getting that TH-cam money 💰
I only watch these videos because of the stunningly handsome host, Ollie you are the best boy.
Looking forward to seekng the paint schemes
😂 thank you. I agree Ollie is the most handsome of all the hosts.
Thank you so much. I am excited to get them started.
The editing on this video is amazing :)
Thank you so much! Really can’t tell you how much that means to me. I work so much on these.
Love the content you are putting out. Keep it up
Thank you so much. Comments like these mean a lot to me. So glad people are enjoying them. Hope you have a great day.
My Nid army is paused...since my 14 year old son chose them as is first army...before 10th launched. I will collect more and expand on what I have one day. The Orks one had me tempted...since I have some older Ork models to expand on.
Orks ar da best
Orks are incredibly fun. I hope you can get back to your nids soon.
Looking forward to seeing both! Particularly the Nidz
Thanks man. I am really excited to get them on the board. Have you played them much?
Not since Crusher stampede in 9th! And that was just for the lolz
Cool video! Looking forward to seeing the next part!
Thank you so much mate. Nothing like the excitement of starting a new army. Do you collect?
@@morewarhammer Haha yeah, I picked up one of the AoS boxes at Chrismas and now have more Seraphon than I can shake a stick at. No idea where all these extra boxes came from?!
looking forward to the series!!!
Thank you Tyler. Next Saturday for the next update. Glad you enjoyed the video
Adepta Sororitas pointed....SORORITAS ARE THE BEST!!!!
They are one of my favourite looking armies.
Given the choice of all of the boxes, I'd have either gone with World Eaters (if we didn't already know that Emperors Children are on their way at some point) or the Votann to expand my collection there.
As for 'Nids, you'll absolutely want Exocrines as they do a tonne of work. Tyrannofexes are fairly good for your big anti-tank threat with the rupture cannon, and Zoanthropes are surprisingly potent and even more surprisingly durable. Fill the front of your lines with termangants and hormagaunts to screen, and let your big bugs do the work from the backfield!
I honestly like the tyrannofex with acid spray. He's a great overwatch threat that actually hits hard
@@philgagnon275 also a great shout! Definitely helps provide a big threat in the mid board that's tough to remove
I actually picked up the votann as well to expand my army.
I have picked up of those models you listed as well. Thank you so much. Really appreciate the help.
It does have a really strong profile doesn’t it. Might try running it with that.
@@morewarhammer glad to hear! Have fun, and welcome to the hive mind!
Cheeky little monkies… I kinda like that
I am growing fond of it haha
The biggest thing I am glad gw is doing is expanding the combat patrol sets, and giving more options. I hope they keep giving us free rules.
Yeah I agree. I think now it probably the best time to start the hobby for that reason.
Is*
I mean, it feels like yall knew what you guys got eachother before hand considering you wrapped them in the same rapping paper
Janice wrapped them up for us so we couldn’t see. Made more sense to order them to here rather than Lloyd bringing his over on the plane.
@morewarhammer alrighty sounds good enough for me lol. 😄
Nids v guard is a very thematic match up
I was so happy with the outcome. It’s going to be one awesome project. Thanks for the comment as well.
I just started in 2023 june with 10th
Im at 4k tyranids and 4k marines
Going to use the rest of this year (and possibly a good christmas box for each faction if there is one) to round out my factions to 5k
And pending the next christmas boxes will be my 3rd army start for 2025 (fingers crossed awesome thousand sons, grey knights, or custodes box set if their codexes drop with model updates by then)
Welcome to the club dude. Glad to have you.
Ohh that’s a chunky list of both you have.
All very cool options as well. You will have to keep me updated with how you get on.
if you buy or print a extra torso for the tyrant/swarmlord you can have both from the same sprue
You legend. I am going to do that. Any suggestions on where to pick one up?
@@morewarhammer i know etsy has them
You've landed on the exact scheme of my nids even down to the base choice 😂
No way! You will definitely want to check out this new video coming on Saturday 👀
Pile of SHAME. Call it what it is 😂
Let’s call a spade a spade shall we? 😂
Exactly! Let's call it what it is, a Shame Pile is a Shame pile. 😀
Good boy Ollie!
You are already shooting in the rankings of my favourite person with that comment.
This is a great video
Thank you so much dude.
your channel is so underrated
This comment is underrated 🤌🏻
Just started an all scions army. flyers, taurox and scions oh my👍
Ohh very cool! I hope it’s going well. What are you working on?
@@morewarhammer working on a vulture gunship at the minute
Not looking forward to playing against Tyranids lol. Great video as always too! Better and better
Thank you Adam. I can’t wait to see them on the board. This was a fun one to put together.
We ❤ Ollie
I had ZERO interest in nids until you started painting them. Now it is only a matter of time before bugs infest my pile of s̶h̶a̶m̶e̶ ... *opportunity*
😂😂 I think Helldivers might help that decision get expedited.
Get a Tyrannofex or two. They are the best shooters for nids right now. I prefer the old Lictors over the new Van Ryan Leapers. I like playing with Tervigon and 40 Termagants or going for Haruspex and Flyrant.
You don’t have to tell me twice to get another tyrannofex 😂. One of my favourite models in the range. I can’t wait to paint my old one up with this new scheme. I do love the lictors as well. I am planning on having 3 of them in my vanguard list.
Thumbs up for Ollie
Thumbs up right back at you Dan. 🤌🏻
The quality just keeps going upppppppp 📈📈📈📈
Thank you Mike. This one was a fun one to put together. Also so much fun to start a new army!
I love corax white too, too bad they changed the spray fo white scar :(
It’s a solid paint to be fair isn’t it.
My new army for the new year is orks
Ohh yes!! You are going to have fun with this. Orks are probably one of the most enjoyable armies to play and play against.
Good boy. 🫳🐶
🙌🏻
this is a small comment but my adhd let me guess which boxes they were through the blur in the thumbnail so just coming to say you might want a black box with a question mark for any future similar content!
😂 I did try but I couldn’t get it to look right. Thank you for the feedback though. 🙌🏻
@@morewarhammer haha all good man love the content
prolly sounds kinda boring but i would choose the space marine box
Not boring at all. I only passed on it as I have most of the models. That’s why I love this hobby, there is something for everyone.
Subscribed for Oly
He thanks you and welcomes you. 🤌🏻
Tyranids NOM NOM NOM
Feed me those guard. Which is your favourite nids model?
Pile of Opportunity… aka PoO… 😂
🤣🤣
I'm making horrible financial decisions and I couldn't be happier. I just started late '23 with Leviathan Tyranids then i got the battle force, and now I've also got a nearly 2k point death guard army and now I'm eyeing up T'au, please send help.....or someone who wants to buy a painted Tyranid army. I have a plastic addiction
Don’t worry Joey, you are in a place of acceptance and enablement. The Kroot army set is tempting me to the greater good as well.
Yall ignored the better game here.
Age of Sigmar had box sets too!
We did discuss that as well. I am so happy Sigmar is getting the love it deserves. That’s what got me back into it again recently.
Class
🤌🏻
Hey beautifull box ahah, what the price of both??
I think we got them for £130?? I can’t remember now honestly 😂
Haha- "mini-series" I see what you did there😂 10:58
Haha I am glad you got that one 😂
@morewarhammer ben completely off topic but where did you get those pictures in your dining room from
The map prints are from Mapiful and the frames are from Amazon 😊 thanks for watching the video, hope you enjoyed it.
i could give ya the recipe tho my hive fleet Sepiidae
Ohh you will have to show me. Are you on IG?
orks v orks would'e been funny
Also perfectly thematic as well. I did kinda hope for that outcome 😂
@@morewarhammer sounds like next year's plan
Does anyone like the krige army?
They have a huge fan base. They are just hard to run because of the ££
Where do you get these boxes? Are they exclusive to EU?
No it believe it was a world wide release. It was back in November though.
You guys are a cute couple
The ex girlfriend was cute but at least this relationship is wholesome
Ohh you.
🤣🤣
