All your videos are so well developed and informative as someone who is planning on starting a private practice after grad school, thank you!

Thank you a lot! Really informative and usefull video! Didn't fully understand why do you think that social media should be the last step? What do you think about creating a website with a blog and/or instagram profil before you have a private practice? I already am working as a counselor with a college degree but just starting my education on becoming a therapist (2 years from now I could work therapy with clients). I have extra time and knowledge to write blogs, and know what type of clients I want to work. Would it be smart or not to start now? And with what to start? thank you!

Hey Margo! Social media should be last...if included at all. And in reality, at present time, I teach therapists to avoid social media altogether at least in the beginning...as it tends to be high effort and low return, except potentially in the cases of paid social media ads. Starting your website, doing keyword research and placement, and blogging consistently is a fantastic way to start growing your practice before you open your doors. Highly suggest you do this! But do it with a plan, and with help...head to www.privatepracticeworkshop.com to learn more about our Fully Booked program, that would be the perfect option for you!

This was very helpful! My question is...I have two niches (substance use disorders and anxiety disorders) and work with all ages within both of those niches. I struggle with knowing how to approach my marketing strategy with such a "wide net." For examples, do I need a separate email newsletter that speaks to parents of children with anxiety disorders and one for adults? Or do I combine them? Do I need a separate one to target substance use disorder? Thanks in advance!

Hey Jenny! Thanks so much for stopping by :)
If you're just getting started with email marketing, then all you need to focus on is simply getting started with 1 list. It's more important to engage that list in a cadence that you can commit to right now, versus spreading your focus across segmenting your list or creating different lists for your different audiences.
Keep them combined until you're really comfortable with basic email marketing and have been sending out regular emails for at least 2 months. Mix in your content for your various audiences within 1 message, and study your open and click rates to better understand how they're responding. You may find that you can still do just fine in keeping 1 list with varying types of email content and messaging.
Or, from there you can go deeper with your audience by either using "tags" or separate lists within your main list (e.g., parents vs individual adults). This is advanced email marketing and you should take your time with it. You can invited your audience to "self select" which group they are in, by having them click a link in your email that indicates which group they're in.
Let me know how it's going. Good luck!!

I would suggest that you pick one niche . pick the one you are comfortable with, the one you think makes your life easier financially, mentally and physically. there must be one you like the most
