This was an amazing video! I am sure Kristie's tips are going to be so amazingly useful! I am going to use the Google my business listing. Thank you again!
The problem with google my business is that you need to have a physical location/an office somewhere. You can't use it if you offer sessions exclusively online..😣
Please help, quick question. I'm a private contractor with a group practice. How would I do this so I'm marketing myself and not the whole practice? My goal is to have enough clients within a year to get my own location. Please advise, new to private practice 🙏
Hi Marie. Please, please consider adding a warning to the beginning that Google My Business listings cannot opt to be closed to reviews and cannot be deleted. You were so persuasive that I jumped on it before even finishing the video, then realized that people can leave reviews--which is really problematic for my practice. I'm concerned that I can't undo it. Any suggestions?
Ugh, I'm sad that Google My business is so huge because my practice is entirely online and they require a physical address... I haven't felt comfortable putting my home address and my listing has been taken down for having an alternate address.
Oh no! I believe there is indeed a way to do it without an address, unless they've changed how they set things up! You DO need to verify your business with an address, but you DON'T have to have your address listed publicly. Here is some more info from Google on how to do this: smallbusiness.chron.com/add-business-google-maps-address-59973.html
Unfortunately it doesn't allow for virtual only private practice offices that use a P.O. Box or mailing service for their business address to have a google business. Any advice for that?
Can I use Google my business for my PP virtual address? I have my PP as a legit office space because my mail goes there and when covid calms down I will see clients face to face. In the interim I am only doing telehealth from my home.
According to Google, you can't use a virtual address. Drat! The email I received from then suspending my business page states, " P.O. boxes and virtual offices are not considered business locations."
@@Sparklezz I did. I think it depends on if the location is literally just a virtual office or if it's a virtual office with also a physical location where you can actually go to. I was able to do it with no problem because the location does have other office spaces where I can technically see clients.
@@dionneaseals Heads up, Ipostal is not a HIPAA compliant business address. Unless you've got them to sign a BAA for you. In my research I had to bypass them for this issue and went with a UPS mailbox like Marie has mentioned in past videos. I apologize if this info is out of date, but I've been researching this as recent as a week ago.
@@akia_grace There are providers of HIPAA compliant business addresses, I've used the suggestions from Marie's other videos. See if you can sign a BAA with them and you're good to go! I went with a physical mailbox.
If you're asking about a group that no longer is in business, I believe you can suggest an edit to let Google know the business is closed. If it's naming a person who no longer works at the existing group, then I believe you can also suggest an edit to let Google know that person doesn't work there. I'm hoping I understood your question correctly!
I am just leaping into a solo virtual practice. I am so happy that I just found this video and this amazing channel. Thank you!!!!

thank you for sharing this detail. I hope you figured it out.
How cool was this?!!! I have a new perspective!!! Thanks so much!
If you do teletherapy is it more beneficial to add many states, or keep it local on your Google my business?
It's my understanding that you can only provide telehealth services to people in the states that you are licensed in.
@@morgan6404a person can hold licenses in other states. Some professions are working on being able to provide services across states.
Thanks so much. A huge help.
Super helpful tips! Thanks Kristie and Marie

What if I’m only doing virtual, teletherapy? I do not feel comfortable listing my address. Can I just skip the address?
This is the same problem im having
You should have a business address, even if you're providing teletherapy. I have one from IPostal.

What if google still lists someone as part of former group practice as the primary result?
