I was in a halfway house for opiate addiction when this song was on heavy MTV rotation in 1989. It carried me through some hard times and I got my s*** together, married and had four kids and now seven grandkids. Forever grateful and a wonderful reaction, THANKS!
@@IDONTLIKEMONDAYS-w2h music is powerful, healing, cathartic and can help change your mood and perspective in a heartbeat. I’ve created an extensive playlist of songs of this type. It really helps. 👍
I remember when this song came out. I was in hospital for 4 months (Died Twice) after i was hit by a car on my bike at 80kmph. This song was on the TV (little tiny hospital TV) all the time and was around #1 for weeks, this song and Madonna's 'Cherish' song and i knew that the my world of pain was about to start shortly, as nurse changeover had just started and it was time to change bandages. I wished at the time that someone with 'Healing Hands' would come help me. This song takes me back to a dark time of my life but i now have now 4 kids and married to a wonderful wife which i am most blessed.. love your channel. Peace & Love from Electronic80s, Sydney, Australia xxx
Such a good and overlooked song. It was completely overshadowed when it came out in the UK as it was a double-A side with the phenomenal 'Sacrifice'. Together they gave Elton his first solo no. 1 in the UK.
in my humble opinion Elton John is one of the greatest artists to take the world stage, he has had hits across many decades. I never get sick of hearing Elton ❤️
Still waiting for a reaction to Funeral For A Friend / Love Lies Bleeding. Until you've heard that the Elton journey is not complete. It's his masterpiece, his opus, his symphony
You're still missing a HUGE hit from Elton. His duet with Goerge Michael - Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me. This NEEDS to be your next one. Much love from Ontario, Canada! :)
OMG. Sir Elton has been so much a part of my life for sooooo many years (since 1970). Great song. Thanks, Elton, for all of your music to us! Love you!
It wouldn't be an Elton reaction if I didn't request one of his greatest masterpieces off the Yellow Brick Road album. Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding. Studio version. Need to get back to 70's Elton.
Underrated hit from Elton that I always enjoyed!! Please consider his songs THE SIMPLE LIFE and I DON'T WANNA GO ON WITH YOU LIKE THAT for future listens. Love y'all, keep smiling!! 🎶😊🎶
I absolutely love Sir Elton John and his wonderful voice. And just think his music teacher told him he'd never make it. Glad he didn't listen. Can you imagine a world without Elton? NO

Thank you Jay & Amber for YOUR healing energy! Next stop on your Elton journey should be his tongue-in-cheek, self referential The Bitch Is Back. It’s timeless rock. Then check out the piano-driven I Don’t Want To Go On With You Like That, a huge comeback hit from the late 1980s. I think you’ll love them both!
Amber & Jay, here are some other good Elton John songs to react to: "I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That", "Sick City", "Sad Songs (Say So Much)", "Mama Can't Buy You Love", "Harmony", and "Salvation".
I love this whole album (Sleeping With the Past) lesser known but my favorite overall album from Elton. I used to play this CD a lot in the car driving to golf tournaments in the early 90’s. Just one of those memories that comes back when I listen to songs from this album. Club at the End of the Street is a fun song from this album.
It would be amazing if you reacted to "Elton John - Candle in the Wind/Goodbye England's Rose (Live at Princess Diana's Funeral - 1997)." It is historical as well as an amazing display of professionalism as Dianna and he were friends and he held it together for this performance.

@@karish.6303 haha ok fair enough. I just get tired of the same generic comments lol! Off the top of my head, a few lesser known but still mainstream catchy songs (and he has a ton of good ones that nobody listens to on the albums S you can imagine)… Healing Hands (an uplifting gospel inspired song), runaway train (darker sing with Eric Clapton - but still upbeat…. One of of his most underrated and poignant singles I think - you can make history young again (check out the sentimental music video and the Conan obtien solo version he did on piano)…. Holiday inn (piano demo version - lovely road trip mellow song) ….Sacrifice (same era as healing hands… very beautiful slow song)… skyline pigeon (wistful song)…. There’s too many lol.
"Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding", "Madman Across the Water" and "Burn Down the Mission" are essential Elton John classics. All three are must listen to bangers.
Elton John cannot be named in a sentence without Bernie Taupin who writes the songs with him, especially the lyrics. The words he sings are always on point, poetic and impactful. A clever mix of commercial and intellectual.
one of his very best songs. part of the two a sided singles that contains the song (sacrifice and healing hands) which reached the number one in the uk. thank you for reacting to this song.

Nice one Amber and Jay. I guess you must have to have more people request the Elton ones I would like y'all to review: Indian Sunset and Ticking. I am not ashamed to keep asking you to review these because I really feel you would be blown away by them. Indian Sunset is from Madman Across the Water (1971) and starts out acapella. The orchestral arrangements are out of this world. (Please listen to the album cut version with lyrics.) The second one - Ticking - is from the Caribou album (1974) and has some of the most incredible piano playing I have ever heard - even from Elton. It is poignant and tells a story. Also please do the album version. If I had a third - it would be 60 Years On from the Elton John album (1970). Thanks Jay and Amber for entertaining us :)
You've done so many Elton John songs, and you've done "Candle in the Wind" but not Elton John/"Candle In the Wind/England's Rose" Live at Princess Diana's Funeral 1997 it's a must see, makes me cry😢.
