When I worked at Barne’s and Noble we had one on display that we could use as an example and since it had to always be on and creating something the staff got to have tons of fun with it! We made a full set of chess pieces which was exciting- I’ll say that 3D printers definitely could make gift giving easier. Just design and print the perfect gift !
Well I think we should move more in this direction. It would make shopping a lot easier. How many times are you running all over town, trying to find like the exact thing you need? For example, take a doormat. I had to run all around town recently to find the right color, size, pattern, etc. Lots of items had one, but not the other thing, I wanted. None had it all. So with more customization, you can order the exact thing you want.
This is so encouraging! I’ve been wondering when this will become more popular, I’m curious if there’s specific classes you can take to get to this level with design and then the printing too!
I really like that your content is atypical and you find broad audience items to make videos about. I really like this video-at the beginning of the pandemic, my old high school created face shields for area healthcare personnel using 3-D printers and I thought it was really awesome.
As always, your video topics are super fascinating Shelby! Your video quality and interviewing skills are like watching a mini TV show! Do you think you would try getting your own 3D printer to make furniture?
It seems like 3D printing may be the future in furniture, home building, and so many more areas. Glad to see they are using biodegradable plastics. Thanks for sharing. 💛
We're expanding our furniture line to include lamps and smaller items. We have several mechanical and practical in-house designers afluent in 3D printing and slicer for prototyping. How viable is it to do mass production in 3d print versus mold injection?
Well that was fun and a little different. 😉👏🏻 There's 3D companies making RC airplanes now. More sophisticated equipment is currently producing 3D metal parts for NASA and the automotive industry. The process to make a huge array of things is advancing quickly. Where are we going next Shelby? 🤔 Love the straight forward way you produce and present the show. 💕
I really enjoyed this video! I came over from Annemarie and really love the energy and vibe in your video. It's really inspiring as well. Have a lovely day and thanks for making video's like this. Much love from Europe
clear co are a debt facility for ecom stores. diff to a bank. up to 12% flat fee premium for inventory and 6% for marketing. no compounded interest. defs geared towards start ups. larger stores or established businesses should be able to get an overdraft facility from a bank at 3%-5% compounded or less. the premium clear co charge is because of the risk of start ups and the convenience of them giving it to an ecom platform quickly. good business model
I have always wondered if there was a way to take all of the defective parts of a print and recycle them since I have been told that it would take too much time and money to do that, but like it is so terrible to just throw away plastic like that.....anyone else have the same question?
We use a commercial 3D printing company that has about 10 machines of various sizes that can 3D print prototypes in a few days. I design products for a living using 3D modeling software. Now with the introduction of table top units like those in this video the average technically inclined person can learn how to use them. I in particular don't use them because I would lose too much time baby sitting the machines, maintenance, ordering filament and support material, plus trying to design everything as well. So , I use 3D print service companies for all those activities. This frees me to focus on my specialty which is product design. 3D printing is extremely useful in many industries today.

The owner is so open about the process and company, very impressive. Beautiful lamp too. 💙

Clearco sounds like a major gem. Thanks Shelby!
I love that dude names his printers "buffy" and other pop culture icons
$70 for a spool of PLA is very steep. $70 will get you a kilo of some exotic materials.
Good to see some made the best of quarantine
3D printing is cool.

It should be named the beard lamp! It's his beard that stood out most over his masterpiece

This was really cool to see! Those lamps are beautiful!
If you’re interested in 3D printing, etc., check if your public library has a makerspace. Most urban ones have at least a 3D printer.
I use to work at a museum and one day my sliding door broke and the guys in the lab printed me a new part. It was so cool!
If you ck out Ladi and Margaret on TH-cam they used a 3d printer to help build out their camper van.
The 3d lamp is beautiful!

Fascinating and fun to watch this morning
I see you soon Shelby on NBC News doing these cool pieces you come up with. This was really interesting. Great job.
This was super interesting! And great for him to create a company like this.

Remember the Star Trek replicators that would make you food or a part that you need? I feel like 3D printers are the first foray into that future.
I love your videos I learn so much.
What a cool video! Great job as always Shelby 😊
Homie yanked that shit lmao might need to relevel the bed 😂😂

Great interview!
Very cool lamps. $185 seems very reasonable.
They or someone should make 3D printed horse shelters, my wife would love them.
Holy piss, he's selling the lamps at like 185, when it takes at most, $5 in material. This man's a genius...
Great video, kudos
pla degrades very easily, esp. with sunlight exposure... not very durable.

I wonder how the growing popularity of cleaning plastic from our oceans and preventing more debris will impact the future of 3D printing.
If he uses PLA, then PLA melts and compost in the sun and is made from corn material
