    Nicely done. If I can make a suggestion. I found it difficult to see what you’re doing because of the light background color. Maybe using a darker colored background would make it easier to see the process of making the looped ends. Very pretty necklaces though. ☺️♥️

    I've made some bar necklaces already and it's always really interesting to see how other jewellers make theirs. I LOVE the lapis you've used and the other gemstones are so beautiful - you make such delicate, feminine pieces! Really enjoying your tutorials. :)

    Susan, hi! Just found your TH-cam page. Thank you for sharing with us new jewelers!
    Question about the bar necklace:
    If you can only use 26 gauge wire because the hole in the beads are so small,
    is there a way to reinforce the bar to make it stronger so it will not bend?
    I saw your wire wrapped ring video where you had to use the smaller gauge
    and you just wrapped it to a larger gauge and hid the small wire underneath the wraps.
    Is there a way to do that with the bar necklace?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @JewelSchool
      @JewelSchool  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gail! Let's dive in! As far as making the 26ga wire stronger, when you make the loop after stringing your beads on, that should help to create a bit of tension, so the wire is less likely to bend. It might over time, but you can just straighten it back out with your fingers. If you hammer it before to work harden, you run the risk of flattening it out and your beads won't fit. You can try using a nylon jaw plier before putting on your beads. This will help straighten the wire, plus it should harden it a little more. As far using a smaller gauge wire, you can add that to the ends to help reinforce it. However, you can just wrap the 26ga wire a few more times as well. Really, it's up to you!

    Can I do the same when connecting stones to an open Bolo bracelet? I bought the bracelet with each end not connected to the center. I’m trying to use my small Sapphires to create a complete bracelet.

    • @JewelSchool
      @JewelSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kelli! We don't see why not! if you have a starter bolo bracelet chain, you can create the bar with you sapphires as Susan does in the video, then you will need to cut your bolo chain in half at the top and attach a link on each side of the bar. Voila! You have a beaded bar bolo bracelet! Good Luck!

    Can you make these bars without the chain and attach later?
    Also, do you have a video on how and where to cut a chain?

    • @JewelSchool
      @JewelSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Diana! You sure can! Once you have made the loop with your round nose pliers, just continue with wrapping the wire around the base. Simply leave out the step of attaching the chain. If you want to attach a chain later, just be sure to get a couple of appropriately sized jump rings to attached it with. Sometimes (in fact, most of the time) the chain links themselves are able to be opened like a jump ring, which will make it easier to attach to the bar. Hope this helps!

    what kind of chain do you use? and what diameter width size?

    • @JewelSchool
      @JewelSchool  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a gold tone small cable chain. About a 2.3mm (.091in). You will want to look for a spool of it or fine one that is finished. Beadalon makes a 20ft spool that is pretty good. If you get unfinished just remember to get your clasps to attach to it.
