When I bought my Fz 09 in 2016, I knew after riding it 3 miles I knew that I was going to have to do something about the seat. I ordered the Yamaha OEM comfort seat and it was the best modification I've made for any motorized vehicle ever in my life. Absolute night and day difference for me. And I mean night and day.
Because I'm vertically challenged. I'm going to have to do a Gel insert. Haven't decided if I want to do it myself or take it to an upholstery shop. 🤔 but since I can't spare anymore seat height. It's really my only option.
@@Yashawarrior hello. No. I have no plans on lowering it. I really don’t want to mess with the way it handles. I don't know that it would but not taking the chance. My Speed Triple was tall also. But horribly balanced. This bike, I can hold it straight up with one finger. Hope you get your ride soon!
@@S550MT09 It's good, if your main use of the bike is commuting it's perfect. Getting into twisties and I've taken it on track a few times, the stock seat is way better. The corbin limits side to side movement too much especially if you ride with your ass toward the back. It's sort of lipped towards the back because of the bucket, which is what limits the movement.
@hendrxx_ thanks for your reply brother, I do mostly 2 hours each way commute and my tail bone is killing me on the stock seat , I was looking into either getting the comfort seat for 260 or this one for 650 im starting to think I should save my money for this one
@@S550MT09 no problem. I’ve heard good things about the comfort seat. Honestly I would have probably gotten the comfort seat but at the time of writing that the gen3 was brand new and the comfort seat was impossible to get. If the situation is better now I would tell you to save some money and try that one out before splurging on the corbin.
@hendrxx_ I remember it was almost impossible to get ahold of when i first bought my bike 3 years ago now its widely available on amazon and ebay, also the bagster goes for 360 so only 100 more than the comfort seat so very difficult decisions 😅
Had an R6 years ago. Fun bike but way more track oriented since the power band is all top end, barely any torque. MT09 is way more usable in day to day riding 👍🏼
Still looks like the new seat slopes toward the tank. My Super Tenere has a sloping seat, and I'm always pushing myself backwards. I'll be back in Florida😎 soon after 4wks out OTR, and riding my bike. May get a custom seat for it at some point...👍😺
Well as an owner of the FZ/MT10 and completed a 3200+ mile, 8 day, 7 night World Record Poker Run….stick to less than a day trip worth of miles and you will be fine. Doing 12+ hours per day I do not recommend it for the FZ/MT10 for those loooong trips

Well, the bolster would actually be for the driver/rider much better with the separation between the driver and passenger as far as looks go.

Should check out a seat by a company called bagster, amazing seats! Can get one for this bike with the MT09 badging and with to match blue stitching, also very comfy. Love mine on my 21 Z900
Consider that other custom seats cost 450+ the Yamaha stock one is 200 less. At first they feel stiff, by after about 500 miles you'll be so happy you did it. With every penny.

Like everything about the MT09 except the seat and i dont think its actually the seat but the position your in on the bike..I had the comfort seat on the 2018 model and it made no real difference...i can ride the ktm 790/890 all day but 45 mins on the yamaha and im not having fun
I absolutely love my comfort seat, holy happy tush. Just a friendly fyi....to women and men: if ya have a supple bum definitely worth the upgrade!! Yup good ol OBT and Col....the aroma issa no good!!!

Have you debated lowering it? I’ve got my SP ordered and don’t see any lowering parts or know if I want to lower it at all.

Did 157 miles on my 21 SP yesterday my A$$ begged me to buy this seat it should be here tomorrow haha had it on my 2nd gen 09 it’s a must have !

The Gen2 MT09 comfort seat is way better. Has a little step between rider and pillion, kinda holds the rider in place when you get on the throttle.

Did the seat cover stop wrinkling near the front? I’m hoping after it wears in that would stop.
The fact that it has already began to “bunch up” after a short ride tells me a lot about it’s durability or lack thereof.
After watching your videos on the MT-09 I'm really wanting to get one. But it's been a toss up between it and an R6.

It’s not too bad. I don’t find myself sliding into my gas tank at all. It’s prettyz comfortable. I have the comfort seat as well

It’s a Dyna Super Glide. Used H-D he picked up for cheap in great condition. His first bike after he passed the class, found it on Fb marketplace 👍🏼
