    This is super unfortunate and I'm glad to see you post this as it helps others decide on or pass on this product. I would send a link of this video to the seat mfg and share your displeasure with their product.
    What concerns me is that I feel like the seat cover material has been compromised in some way. To have 3 splits is crazy. I hope more don't pop up. Share this on all social media platforms tagging them to see if they engage.
    Good luck and I hope it's fixed.

      I completely agree - I feel like I'm sitting on a ticking time bomb that could split again at any moment. I don't know if it was a bad batch of material or some other material defect but I have no confidence in the product.
      It is a shame because I really do like the looks and comfort of the seat. Its the durability that has me so disappointed.

    That’s a damn shame. When I got my 2016 09, I had to search all over for the official Yamaha comfort saddle. I wound up finding a dealer that had one in a different state and bought it immediately because the Yamaha website said “temporarily out of stock“. And I can tell you this… The OEM Yamaha comfort saddle is phenomenal. I knew within the first 3 miles of riding on it the first time that it was going to be a winner. And it is a winner. It’s always the first item that sells out on the website every year. It is an absolute night and day difference from the stock saddle. Build quality is phenomenal and the comfort level is phenomenal. And as a bonus I love the way it looks. I really hope you can get one because it’s the best 09 seat I never ridden on.

      I can't believe how long the Yamaha Comfort Saddle has been out of stock. I keep hearing great things about it but I just haven't been able to get my hands on one.

    Long story short: Baxter is comfortable compared to original, provides less moving space, developed a tear after only 150 miles of use, Baxter refused to warranty it; don’t buy it from them they have poor quality & poor customer service. (video unreasonable length may trigger an ADHD episode) 🙄

    I have the after market Saddlemen seat for my GSX S 1000. Although better than stock I still needed to modify it. Not an inexpensive experience. The workmanship was excellent, I must say. Over all very happy in the end. I almost purchased a Bagster product but they were very expensive compared to the Saddlemen. Sorry to hear that you had an issue Mate. Chrome Burner sound amazing ! The repair man was also amazing. Take Care 😎

    Dang Walt that was quite the ordeal man. But good news is you found a good upholstery shop for the future. I was going to go Bagster on the Z but didn’t like that it pushed me forward a bit. Spent a lil extra and went Corbin and so far no issues. Glad you got this resolved and kudos to chromeburner for covering the repair. In my opinion those would be two companies I’d deal with again!

    Hey Walt, Hello from the U.K. I have literally just bought a 2018 Yamaha tracer 900 GT. I rode it back from the dealership which was 140 miles and found the stock seat acceptable but not fantastic. I was thinking about a Bagster seat even before I collected the bike, I will think very carefully now after watching your video before parting with £275.99 of your English pounds.

    • @WaltInPA
      @WaltInPA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I could see them being hesitant to repair / replace the seat as a warranty issue if it was a couple of months old but to be blown-off after literally two rides (with the first tear appearing in photos I took on the second ride) that was shocking.

    Have had two Sargents and one Corbin. The Sargents for Kawasaki ZRXs are very comfortable, light, and well shaped - very satisfied. The Corbin saddle is very firm and poorly shaped, not to mention very heavy, I ended up using my stock Versys seat to make my own seat because the Corbin was only good for short rides. My homemade seat is much more comfortable than the Corbin! There are some good TH-cam sites that can help you substantially improve the comfort of the stock seat. I would have bought a Sargent seat for the Versys, but it wasn’t available at the time, so went with the Corbin, regretfully.

    • @WaltInPA
      @WaltInPA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Out of curiosity I checked to see if a Sargent is available for the MT-09 - unfortunately it doesn't look like they make one for the 2021+ (at least not yet anyway).

    I bought a 2021 CAN AM Spyder in November of last year. Thinking about a Corbin front/rear saddle with a back rest. Had one on my 1997 Valkyrie, loved it. They are costly seats but worth the price! 😉 subbing, good luck with your seat and repairs! 👍🏻 the Corbin is quite costly but based on my past experience with them, I’m sold on their comfort and quality and (not to diss you) they are made in America! ❤️

      I loved my Corbin. It provided comfort all day long. Thought it was hard at 1st. but it gave superior support. Never put the factory seat back on. As a matter of fact, I saw the factory seat yesterday in my garage. We could ride all day long without any saddle sore. No back ache. This one will be $1500.00 with the backrest! Ouch! However it’s worth the price. The backrest gos in the front seat or the back seat for the passenger when the wife is along for the ride. Which happens often. Haven’t ordered it yet, but will soon. The factory seat on both bikes was soft but absolutely no support. 😡 my pleasure on the sub! Keep your head on a swivel. 😉 I wish I would have saved the backrest when I sold the bike. Oh well, live and learn.

    As a small business owner you should understand that for Chromeburner to offer you that service not only is the cost to them a write-off but the word-of-mouth benefit to them can and often does come back many times over in both repeat customers and their referrals. You paid for a new product, you deserved a new product. You should have gone with the re-cover straight up (extra splits notwithstanding). Always look after yourself first, Chromeburner wouldn't offer to cover it if it was going to be a problem for them.
    Edited to add: As an example, I will not hesitate to order from CB in the future and this video is going to be an example as to why.
