Almost all of C418's discs start with a simple nostalgic melody and smoothly evolve to beautifully rich soundscapes by the end. They're really unmatched
Fun fact: 'wait' was the last of the C418 discs to be implemented into the game. It was originally called 'where we are now' but it didn't work (apparently spaces in the title caused issues). Eventually it was added in the 1.4 Pretty Scary Update under its current name ('11' also became obtainable in Survival mode too in that same update; it was a creative mode only item before)

I really like how 5 has a peaceful lullaby in the middle of the oppressing noises. It's as if the disc was scratched over to record the explorer's encounter with the Warden, yet a bit of the previous record wasn't removed. Also, Ward is cool in how it baits into thinking it's a somber theme, only to mix it up with a melody full of wonder. Stal is best, of course.
I find disc 5 very interesting because it is the only confirmation of a human-like civilization like the player existing before the current time. Yes, we hear sounds from a creator of disc 11, but it's just him. However, in 5, we can actually hear what i can assume is guardians marching as they patrol the Ancient City.
The one thing that makes Minecraft, Minecraft. Is the community and everyone else's talents being brought forward in their own ways. Like how each update adds more OST to the Minecraft world but never removing the older ones present, to make us cry when we play Minecraft because of the memories we made as children and continue to do so listening to old and new.
The most underrated disc has to be Far, it is mysterious yet familiar, alien but nostalgic. The slower first half beautifully warps into the more energetic second half without losing any character in either half.

Ok, the new disc is good don’t get me wrong. But I love the old discs it just gives it more of a Minecraft feeling. I do really like the new disc but I will always have a soft spot for the older ones.

Uprade to a cobblestone and wooden house with some iron 13: you encountered a wave of monsters and ran out of food. A reminder of the struggles ahead. Chirp: you found a village. Even if you cant trade much its nice company Far: you decide to start exploring the world further. Maybe you will find a temple or two. Mall: you've got it mostly figured out now. Farm is running well, mining is great. You got your first diamond. Mellohi: you have collected gunpowder and redstone and unlocked your inner griefer. Not on the first village of course but most other villages beware Stal: you've got enough diamonds to start mining obsidian. Strad: you've got enough obsidian to build a portal. Time to stock up on supplies for the nether Ward: the nether is different. But after getting used to it its awesome. New mobs to meet, new structures to explore, new materials to gather. 11: a cursed tape of the final moments of a lost miner killed by an enderman. Best not to play this again. But a good motivator to one up the endermen Wait: with blaze rods and ender pearls its time to find a stronghold. Pigstep: the End is free. Its piggy party time. Otherside: the End may be free but there's still stuff to do. The journey to find a mansion begins now. 5: latest update has added a new mob. It whoops you in one hit. Relic: one more disc for old time sake.
13 is still undoubtedly the most creepy disc to me. it ties in with truly old minecraft and it’s original fanlore and it feels like it *is* the forbidding undercurrent that keeps the game running. the other newer discs are a little creepy sure, but nothing beats 13 and it’s bells.
Funnily enough 11 was my favorite disk as a kid. I remember I would build a little base and then listen to it like you see old folks listening to radios in cartoons lol I was always like 'oh I gotta listen to my stories'

I absolutely love the first half of chirp, the ending bit of ward, but i love mall the most because i put it on my speaker at night time and just listen to it while it puts me to sleep
C418 music is so unique and I have o my recently come to appreciate the quality of his work. Growing up I hated most of the music discs, but now that listen to them again I am not only overwhelmed by nostalgia but also with amazement for the kinds of feelings c418 managed to infuse into all these tracks. There is nothing else like his music, and it helped give Minecraft such a unique vibe which goes under appreciated.

I was thinking: maybe disc 5 was a normal song back then, but it was taken along in to the ancient city, where an incident occurred and it was overwritten, recording it's surroundings
Lena Raine - Otherside is becoming my favorite disc in the game. I don't know how else to explain it other then it inspires feelings of exploration, growth, and nostalgia. Almost a musical biography of Minecraft as a whole. Truly beautiful.
It's funny, for me i feel like this disc is to strong in terms of sound tempo... and take to much place to actually be able to think and enjoy the game.
I feel like otherside is an amazing song and would fit well in the end credits of something like a movie or video game. Imagine going through, adventuring, exploring, and once you get to relax and look back at memories, just playing otherside. It just fits with the theme, and is great at repetition without making it boring, and just fitting the "I've done it!" Type of thing.

I don't think 5 is about fighting the Warden. Towards the end, you could hear the Warden kill a Wither. Everything before that is a build-up to the introduction of Skulk to the world of Minecraft.

Man its just a game, a block game, and still it manages to bring so much feelings in me and most people. I mean, its kinda nostalgic and happy, full of memories and stories, a bit of sadness and maybe complex feelings like loss and grief or love and friendship. Damn, how can something that started so small become so big and intense in our hearts and memories? I just love this game. ❤

Ward is like, a documentary about death in nature, starts with the dying creature itself, but then starts the prolific life that emanates from it, ending in a poetic sense where it shows you how death is the necessary mean that life needs to exist
I don't think that's true. I think that both 5 and Relic are (in lore) the oldest discs, as they are found in the long since abandoned Ancient Cities and Trail Ruins. I think that both were from ancient civilizations that have long since passed and that was their style of disc. Take pigstep for example as another different disc. I believe it is that colour because it was made out of Netherrack rather than whatever the Vinyl equivalent in the normal discs is because that's all the Piglin's could use in the nether to make a disc out of.

Mellohi feels very nostalgic for some reason, it has a sound to it and I've spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure out what it was reming me of, and came to the conclusion it just sounds a lot like songs that'd play in the Scooby-Doo Mystery inc soundtrack or in a series of unfortunate events.

I have a theory, what if the warden portal actually leads to the minecraft dungeons realm because first we hear the player underground, then he starts to ignite stuff, and then he is in minecraft dungeons. When he got in there, he met the endermen, and i guess he got scared or something so he went back in the portal to the normal minecraft. After that he activated one of those warden things, the warden spawned and killed the player. Maybe this is the reason why mojang still haven't added the warden dimension, there isn't even one at all

I absolutely love the first half of chirp, the ending bit of ward, but i love mall the most because i put it on my speaker at night time and just listen to it while it puts me to sleep

C418 music is so unique and I have o my recently come to appreciate the quality of his work. Growing up I hated most of the music discs, but now that listen to them again I am not only overwhelmed by nostalgia but also with amazement for the kinds of feelings c418 managed to infuse into all these tracks. There is nothing else like his music, and it helped give Minecraft such a unique vibe which goes under appreciated.

It was also shattered to a bunch of pieces which is why it sounds so warped when played because your player didn’t put the disk together properly.

Lena Raine - Otherside is becoming my favorite disc in the game.
I don't know how else to explain it other then it inspires feelings of exploration, growth, and nostalgia. Almost a musical biography of Minecraft as a whole. Truly beautiful.

It's funny, for me i feel like this disc is to strong in terms of sound tempo... and take to much place to actually be able to think and enjoy the game.
I feel like otherside is an amazing song and would fit well in the end credits of something like a movie or video game. Imagine going through, adventuring, exploring, and once you get to relax and look back at memories, just playing otherside. It just fits with the theme, and is great at repetition without making it boring, and just fitting the "I've done it!" Type of thing.

When i first heard strad i thought it was one of the alpha tracks from c418 and i was shocked when i found out that it was one of the discs even though c418 doesn't make music for minecraft anymore the newer tracks are actually really good just doesn't give the same relaxing feeling as c418 tracks

Man its just a game, a block game, and still it manages to bring so much feelings in me and most people. I mean, its kinda nostalgic and happy, full of memories and stories, a bit of sadness and maybe complex feelings like loss and grief or love and friendship. Damn, how can something that started so small become so big and intense in our hearts and memories? I just love this game. ❤

Ward is like, a documentary about death in nature, starts with the dying creature itself, but then starts the prolific life that emanates from it, ending in a poetic sense where it shows you how death is the necessary mean that life needs to exist
yall notice that the discs from 5 to Relic have their own style now, meaning we probably won't get a classic style disc anymore
I don't think that's true. I think that both 5 and Relic are (in lore) the oldest discs, as they are found in the long since abandoned Ancient Cities and Trail Ruins. I think that both were from ancient civilizations that have long since passed and that was their style of disc.
Take pigstep for example as another different disc. I believe it is that colour because it was made out of Netherrack rather than whatever the Vinyl equivalent in the normal discs is because that's all the Piglin's could use in the nether to make a disc out of.
Yeah that’s because c418 isn’t the lead music writer anymore. Which is kinda why I dislike modern Minecraft music, they all feel the same and don’t hold up as well as c418s music, but that could also be my nostalgia talking. Only recent song I like is pigstep and other side

Mellohi feels very nostalgic for some reason, it has a sound to it and I've spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure out what it was reming me of, and came to the conclusion it just sounds a lot like songs that'd play in the Scooby-Doo Mystery inc soundtrack or in a series of unfortunate events.

I have a theory, what if the warden portal actually leads to the minecraft dungeons realm because first we hear the player underground, then he starts to ignite stuff, and then he is in minecraft dungeons. When he got in there, he met the endermen, and i guess he got scared or something so he went back in the portal to the normal minecraft. After that he activated one of those warden things, the warden spawned and killed the player. Maybe this is the reason why mojang still haven't added the warden dimension, there isn't even one at all
