    Have you guys had any experience with therapy that you’d be willing to share? If you’re comfortable with it, post below and maybe together we can continue breaking down the taboo of “getting help”. 💛 🇳🇺

      I had therapy with the nhs , and like you said it makes you feel clear and ready for the week. I have severe anxiety and depression. I’ve only was allowed a little time but I’m waiting to get more. I 100% recommended therapy, however it helps everyone differently. I’ve had severe mental health issues for about 3/4 years now. I think I’m getting better. But definitely do recommend therapy , if it’s with the right therapist 💙x

      I have had all manner of therapy over the years, I would not be here without. For me the best part was actually being told it was normal to fee, the way I did. To actually be able to put a name to my illness was a massive relief

    I've suffered from health anxiety for over 2 years now. I can definitely say that if you have any sort of anxiety, which you are keeping to yourself, you need to speak about it. I found that speaking to my parents and now a psychologist has greatly helped me see what reality is.

    I'm looking into doing CBT therapy to help me with my confidence. I have lost out on many great opportunities in my love life due to a lack of confidence stemming from my mindset, friendships and career-wise as well. I am getting closer and closer to taking the plunge and videos like these do help, so appreciate you talking about such issues and your experience.
    My advice to anyone else would be just doing it, stick it out and don't take any regrets. If you're like me and having a pride battle within yourself, just think of where you could be a year from now. That's what I'm doing and it makes it so much more appealing. Just getting it planned into my financial situation now.

    Therapist here, great video Jack.
    Just wanted to let people know there is FREE therapy available through your GP or by self referring to you local IAPT (improving access to psychological therapy) service. Either speak to your GP to refer or Google IAPT and your county and you should find details online to self refer.
    There's lots of support out there and we work with lots of different conditions and severities x

      Therapy from the NHS is so underfunded that it's always better to go private. My GP referred me, I got a letter with my first appointment scheduled for in over four month's time. A week before, they phoned and said they needed to reschedule, I couldn't make the new date and time with the amount of notice I was given. I was told they'd be back in touch and then I received a letter a few days later to say that since I wasn't willing to work with them, I no longer qualified and would have to go back to my GP to start the process again. At the time, I couldn't have been in a lower possible place and this was almost the final straw. Shocking system.

    I'm a huge happy hour fan listened to all of them at work or at home and honestly I've been struggling so much with life in general, I'm 26 and have been genuinely unhappy since 18 but I'm scared to talk to someone about the things I've been through or experienced but I know deep down I need help. Not sure why I'm typing this really but you boys help so much in my life

    The NHS offers therapy for lots of different issues, but the waiting lists are long. I've had counselling,cbt,talk therapy etc for years since 9 years old through the NHS. Currently waiting to do dbt, I've noticed that you seem to find yourself accelerated onto the waiting list higher up if you have been previously sectioned
    If you need help immediately from the nhs, you can call the crisis team! It's a 24hour thing.

    I’ve had significant mental health issues since I was four and to date, the only thing that therapy has FULLY helped me with was my ocd.
    I had it to a very debilitating degree for ten years and now seven years on I still can’t believe it doesn’t control my life anymore.
    It’s been SOOOOOOOOO much better and I never thought it could be.

    Glad to hear your getting help mate. I decided to consult my local GP during lockdown when I couldn’t fill my time as much and was forced to face my tonight’s. Much like you, mine was oriented around health; specifically mental health (I’d convince myself I was going to become schizophrenic or have a psychotic episode amongst other things). The anxiety these tonight’s cause would only reaffirm the notions. The waiting list was long but the idea of seeing a specialist at the end of it was a beacon of hope.
    Therapy was the best thing I did and has tuned my life around. I’d say to anyone suffering with OCD or an undiagnosed anxiety disorder that it doesn’t hurt to speak to someone, even if your head tells you it might.

    • @tridentHalo
      @tridentHalo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This message means alot too read I have had crippling anxiety since I was 18 I'm 26 now and sometimes become scared of even leaving the house how did you overcome the doubt about going through with contacting the therapist

    • @mattjlr8665
      @mattjlr8665 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tridentHalo I learned about something called ‘avoidance behaviours’ through a tik tok I believe and realised that a lot of the fear I had about going to a doctor or therapist, whilst it seemed so real and certain, is actually just a symptom of what I was going through. I tried making a point of just taking the leap with many things and not allow fear to dictate my behavior.
      These things are cyclical. Anxiety/ depression make you want to shut down but if you do that it often gets worse. After all, who are you if not the things you do and enjoy. Breaking the cycle is the most important thing my friend.
      Considering I was going through mental health anxiety, I was terrified what the assessment may find but having a specialist actually tell you you’re not insane and that many of the emotions, thoughts etc. are somewhat common or at least experienced by others is so comforting. After my initial assessment I had to wait several months to receive therapy but the comfort seeing an expert gave me was enough hope to keep on going.

    Hy 20yr old male here, have eating disorder, have a NHS route after 2 years of being on the list not an ed specialist because "I am not under BMI enough" also have OCD and anxieties too. Just began therapy going into my 4th session with the therapist.
    As you said a "male thing" I think I have that too where I tend not to talk to anyone about it and still feel shamed and scared of being stigmatised as a loony. I dint think I have opened up to anyone except for here and I feel great for doing it. Although this is a burner account of mine (again just in case) and loony shame.

The only therapy i’ve been able to get is like a phone call monthly which they stopped after 6 weeks because i needed to see a specialist :/

    Honestly therapy is the best thing I'm doing at the moment. So my story if anyone's wondering is during September 2021 I was suicidal and I was eating my way to death and also experience anxiety attacks my first proper anxiety attack lasted a solid month at first I thought I was dieing I wasn't too worried about it however the pain never stopped the pain was increasing and I wonder well am I going to die at 80 with this pain by the way I was 19 at the time. So I went to my GP told everything unfortunately there was a 4 month delay. So instead I put my self on the list but at the same time it was my cousin wedding in Pakistan so I went to the wedding hoped on a plane 2 weeks later her wedding was over and o was looking to return but my cousin said hey why don't u do therapy in Pakistan. At first I was reluctant since the media made out like Pakistan was filled with crazy doctors with no degrees. However I thought to myself your probably going to kill yourself u may as well try. At first they gave me 2 weeks worth of pills I mean in England they wanted me on the pills for 2 months however after the 2 weeks I started my therapy with this amazing women she spoke fluent English (American English) I know the scum didn't learn English from the British. However my therapy is still continuing were still trying to find out the many different reason behind my deppression but so far so good. I just wanted to say if England is still the way it was when I left then I know it may sound strange but try finding doctors in other countries. I'm so grateful I trusted my cousin and went to Islamabad to do my therapy. Everyone out there in the world stay strong it does get better and don't be afraid of therapy if u are worried about people judging remember one thing u are in control u don't have to tell people what your doing stay strong and thanks jack and Stevie your pod is great way for me to relax and also remember home. Lots of love from a fat brown man in a 3rd world country.
