I believe the point Bleksley is making is a valid one. People want the police to be serious,
and diligent on duty. Off duty, fill your boots, do what you please. When the crime rate is soaring in major cities you can see why people don’t like to see police messing round on tax payers money.

The police shouldn't be dancing in high heels when on duty. They are there strictly to uphold the law and to help the public. They shouldn't be participating in pride or any other celebrations when on duty. They need to be professional and try to catch the criminals they don't bother looking for.

If you commit a crime is it the police that handle your punishment? Nope.
Like every other worker a Police officer receives their instructions from above and do what they are asked. If that happens to be policing a festival, a parade or a school fete then so be it. They would have been told to interact and show the LBTQ community that they are there for them and approachable.
As for the communities falling apart with crime….. I’m from one. It’s people from the community doing crimes against the community? Where’s the community in that? When the police step in they get met with silence from the victims and bricks and bottles from the perpetrators. Wanna talk about deluded?

I feel there’s a generational difference of views here, which is fine. You have Bleks who is traditionally on the professional side of PD, behaving a specific way as Bleks has seen and knows the consequences of lacklustre policing, while jack is more on the modern view point of seeing a group of people being supported and bringing communities together. It seems like something they can agree to disagree on and isn’t exactly a specifically bad thing.
I would point out though, imagine if it was something happened similar to the Manchester arena attack and it came out police were doing these things and taking pictures, there would be a huge uproar of how police aren’t doing their job and being vigilant. Yes it didn’t happen and there is still the need to mix positively with communities and support the public, but it’s a very thin line and for me this disagreement simply comes down to a difference in a traditional policing opinion vs a modern viewpoint of being inclusive to everyone.

I think Peter Bleksley legitimately doesn't think anything went wrong but is just having some banter back and forth, especially since Jaack had a go at him first, while Jaack is taking it more like "our friendship is over, I can't believe he's being mean to me". I've had so many old people dig at me in ways (especially guys) that people would find extremely offensive but wouldn't actually think that what they said could be deemed "friendship ending", so this feels the same way to me. I don't think Bleksley actually dislikes Jaack, just disagrees with some of his views and Jaack is taking it waaaaaaayyy too personal

Secondly why are you conflating sexuality with the political compass? Pride is fundamentally about celebrating ones sexuality, it's not about pushing left wing or right wing politics. Sure LGBTQ+ are generally more liberal and left wing leaning, that's quite understandable given liberal and left wing politics have tended to be far more tolerant towards the LBGTQ+ community, however past elections and polling has revealed that a significant minority are right wing leaning (25% in 2015).
