      +MrKeyboardCommando yeah, but is backed up by facts the camaro SS is an astounding car both on the street and track, the new Ford mustang has a very well built interior & good fuel economy with IMO the best looking muscle car in this class. & the corvette is now the new standard of performance excellence for it's even beating Nissans GTR & the challenger well it's just a whale.

    Is the Chevy SS didn't start at $42K than it would sell better. You can get a BMW 5 series for around that price or even a nice Benz or Lexus sedan

    • @huyra8019
      @huyra8019 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      well....the ss has a v8, you can't get a M5 for 42K (New that is) . Lexus dosent make a real competitor (rip ISF). 4 four AMG Mercedes C, E, and S classes are way to expensive and risky. I just wished there were cheap small v8 sedans available

    • @MrGaryGG48

      My little brother bought a 2017 SS with the 6 speed stick and it hauls! Holden pirated away 2 BMW engineers who worked on the BMW E39 M5 and they helped to turn this thing into a serious competitor next to that Bimmer. I drove it for about 40 miles through the Marin County coast hills and those narrow little ridge-line roads, and this thing is a blast to drive hard. My regular driver is a 2001 BMW 330xi 5-speed manual. It doesn't have the straight line power but it'll run right with that SS on the back roads. Chevy has nothing to apologize for with this SS. It is a serious drivers car... maybe we just don't have enough serious drivers in the market???

      Apparently a lot of guys like you who only buy cars with their genitals only care about how fast it goes. That is so immature. Things like reliability, service contract, features are important to smart people who can afford to buy cars. Who gives a capybara's ass how fast it goes when we are sitting in Los Angeles traffic?

    Hahaahah all those cars won’t last after the 100 to 150 thousand miles, when you can get a Camry that will last over well over 300 thousand miles, and keep going.
    so with this opinion you know why, we the people don’t get that stupid chip cars, Japanese are great making car and good engineer on them... so here you have Ford, General motors, chevy, Kia, get better at making car that will last a long time son of a gun.....!!!

      the 500 has a high center of gravity, if pushed (i.e. on track) it rolls too happily. and here in Italy i can think of better cars i could buy with less money, (both categories: small sportycars or cars to get noticed).

      +Matteo Bandera (Teoflag)
      A Fiat 500 (at least speaking of the 500 Sport and Abarth 500 since I've owned both) doesn't roll remotely like most other cars. My Abarth rolls less than an Impreza WRX STI.. I've done things in my Abarth where I I tell myself "I shouldn't be able to be doing this in a subcompact" . And mine doesn't even have a stabilizer bar or strut bar. The only bad I can nitpick about my Abarth personally is the doors squeak, it eats sparkplugs and tires every 25-30k. And the last 2 are probably my fault. lol

You can get a Z06 vette for the typical out the door price of a V6 F type and a well equipped Stingray for less than the absolute base price of an F type. Plus there is probably over 100 Chevy dealers for every Jag dealer.

      Out of all the German cars I've driven the Jaguar is actually the best handling car and one of the most fun to drive. And the new corvettes are getting quite common actually. A Jaguar is just something special... It isn't as luxurious as a Mercedes or as fast as a z06 but the drive and the character makes up for that and so much more.

    • @OfficialMINIm

      +prettyrickyd47 mazdas are good looking, reliable and drive well. They have no fault in in their products but compared to other Japanese companies like Toyota, Honda and Nissan it's a small player. They have less resources to play with when it comes to promoting and marketing their products. There are less dealerships to begin with in the states that is. Like I said where I'm from in Australia they're killing it

    • @clutchthepearls3062
      @clutchthepearls3062 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nah, the realistic answer to why the 6 doesn't sell as well as the Camry, Accord, and Fusion is because the 6 isn't a Camry, Accord, or Fusion.
      The people buying them do so because they're safe, boring cars for safe, boring people. Mom or Dad wants something "sporty" to go with their Sienna or Odyssey so they head on down to the dealer and say things like "oooh, this one has two exhausts" or "honey, should we go crazy and get the black leather instead of tan?"

    My last three vehicles have been Mazdas!
    Currently driving a 2013 Mazda 3, manual trans with SkyActiv engine.
    Before that, I owned two Mazda Proteges. Ran both of those over 100k mi

    I don't think the Touareg ($49K) competes with the Ford Edge ($28K). I think it competes, based on price and size, with the Lexus RX ($43K), Land Rover Evoque ($41K), Jaguar F-Pace ($41K) and the Mercedes GLE ($52). The problem is that journalist want to put the Touareg against Edges, Grand Cherokees and other $30K SUVs which hurt the Touareg's premium image.

      Well said, Touareg is a machine that is not built for the "average consumer". When you look at what it gives for the money, its clear. They dont advertise 8000 lbs towing capacity, 7l/100km fuel consumption, over 400 lbs/ft torque.
      Only need one vehicle, this one, not one for the work days and one for the holidays... it does everything extremely well. Everything.

    You guys sound like slimy fast talking used car salesmen. EVERYTHING made today is so complex and parts so expensive that only factory techs can fix them. That guarantees planned obsolescence and rapid depreciation. You should be slamming the industry and advocating a return to simplicity. I lament the days (late '60-early '70's) when one could order an Impala in one of 23 colors, tutones, 10 interior colors, 8 different engine choices. I have '64 Chevy I drive every day..parts dirt cheap and I can fix anything that fails under my shade tree. Today you have a choice of what ?, half a dozen colors and a choice of gray or gray interiors? You guys celebrate the mediocrity that you grew up with. What truly great cars we could have if the bean counters hadn't over ruled the engineers. The automotive press is complicit in leading the flock of sheep who are clueless as to what a really great car should be.

      Thank god they don't build cars like they used to. You're living in nostalgia, looking through the rose colored glasses of your youth. Cars nowadays are more comfortable, more consumer oriented, create less emissions, safer and far more reliable. "KISS" is a great modo to follow... just not always when it comes to automotive engineering. I do COMPLETELY agree that the romance of owning a car isn't what it used to be. Times change though.

    • @napoleoneinstein2487
      @napoleoneinstein2487 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There is no doubt that modern vehicles are more comfortable, durable,safe. That progress is commendable and desirable and would be compatible with a natural progression of development. There is no conflict with my statement above. My gripe is consumers are channeled into buy vehicles that offer a minimum of choices and forced to purchase what used to be options. The more conveniences (pw, pl, a/c, keyless, anti-lock, and soon driverless,etc.) the greater complexity and consumer dissatisfaction with the vehicle when these systems fail. (Leading to otherwise unnecessary purchase of new vehicles). Over complex and failure prone engine control and emissions control add major repair expense. The technology exists to greatly improve mileage and cut emissions without "modern" complexity if the engineers are cut loose. Alcohol or other fuels have the potential to cut emissions to near zero. Get government regulation off the back of the auto industry and miracles can happen. In closing I can't tell the car brand without looking at the badge. I remember when Jr. Johnson was driving a Chevy and Richard Petty drove a Plymouth. Genuine factory competition was good for the development of better cars.

    • @napoleoneinstein2487
      @napoleoneinstein2487 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That not lasting in cold climates is due to corrosion by use of salt on the roads. (still a serious issue even with new vehicles..up here in WNY 5 year old cars are turning to rust buckets) Any mechanical issues are easily and cheaply addressed. My '64 Chevy came from SC..not a spot of rust.

    • @Nogard119
      @Nogard119 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Offering such a huge variety of colors would result in an MSRP jump several hundred dollars across the board. Call me frugal, I'd much rather save the few hundred bucks and have an average looking car. This is coming from someone that drives a cherry red Ram. The automobile isn't what it used to be. You're no longer defined as much by the car you drive. They're primarily viewed as utilities nowadays. I wouldn't say that's a bad change unless you're a car enthusiast. Culture changes. The industry has responded to that change.

      I don't need to drive a Mazda 6 to know that it's slow. The best thing you can say about it is that it's good for a 4 cylinder, when compared to other 4 cylinders in the class. If your other option is a 4 cylinder Camry, then absolutely get the Mazda 6 instead. However, no, a 4 cylinder sedan with no turbo isn't going to light my fires.
      I stand by my opinion that Mazdas need more powerful options across the range. Probably the only one with decent performance is the Miata, and I don't want one of those for other reasons.

As for the K900 the name is indeed horrible, the letter K in the US means cheap... K-Mart, K-Car, K-12 (kindergarten), as mentioned K-9, but I think Kia (another K that doesnt really work) is doing what its big brother did, Hyundai, eat it for years on a high end car, which will pull the entire line up... oh well... anyone remember the fantastic Kia Borrega? Full size SUV with a V8 directly from the Genesis... too bad.

      I agree, except... the Mazda6 has garnered raves in the automotive press, so... it’s not that it’s “underrated”: rather, it’s under-appreciated by consumers. The whole brand is(!). I never looked at them before 2014, and now... we’re a two-Mazda household. We tested e-v-e-r-y compact sedan out there, and my partner chose to lease a ‘14 ‘3’ (...due to a sweet incentive, he upgraded to a ‘17 last year). In Jan ‘17, I was shopping luxury SUV’s: Volvo XC60, Audi Q5, Q7... until I drove a left-over CX9 ‘Signature’. I Absolutely Love It! Can’t understand why Mazda’s aren’t flying out of the dealerships. Except... U.S. car buyer’s have always seemed to take a strange, herd-like comfort in buying ‘what everyone else is driving’ - regardless of ‘rave reviews’. It’s fascinating. And I admit: I had likewise never considered Mazda... until I finally DROVE one(!). ...And if you haven’t tested one since their ‘divorce’ from Ford, you owe it to yourself to take a turn behind the wheel. OH..., and having driven in my CX-9 several times, my BOSS was so impressed that she bought her first Mazda: a CX-3 (she wanted a compact SUV). I’m telling you... the person who drives one, buys one!

    I like the Mazda 6, but bought a Ford Fusion for two reasons. First the Mazda 6 has a 14-1 compression engine which could be a problem if the computer fails or you get a bad tank of gas. The Fusion has a 10-1 compression ration in the base engine which was developed by Ford and Mazda a few years ago. However, if Mazda had a Mazda 6spd I'd be all over it. The Chevy's SS would be a great car, but I think it's priced too high. It looks like a Cruze and the engine alone is not enough reason to attract buyers. Know that it's a Holden makes me curious, if only was affordable. The KIA K900 is also too expensive especially for the person that buys a KIA. KiA buyers are looking for a cheaper car, and no matter how good it is, nobody will believe it's Acura or Infiniti quality. Car prices in general are getting out of hand. I've seen lots of late model Ford Fusions around lately. Clearly people like the looks, and the price lets them own a sporty looking car with lots of space inside for four.

    The k900 is not selling a lot cause they’re too new for people to get familiar with. And not only the k900 hardly even exist. 9/10 Kia dealerships don’t even own a single k900 cause it’s a rare gem car. Plus Kia already has a car that’s very similar to the k900 which is the genesis. and for Hyundai it’s the equus. K900 is more of a Korean thing than American thing for people to drive.

      Mazda unreliable? Lol, try owner a performance bmw, Mercedes, or Porche. They are so bad there is maintenance you have to get while nothing seems wrong and if you don't do it it can suddenly destroy the car. Ie. All of the above listed automaker coolant pumping and handling systems. Now dipshit gm is going to as well. Ford is turbocharged its cars and nissan has all cvt trannys. I would argue the mazda 3 base and the toyota corrola s type are the only hyper reliable vehicles made in 2017.

      Where do people get that Mazda is an unreliable car?! It's actually the most reliable brand in the world. Over the last 3 years: World manufacturer of the year for the last 2 years AND for the last 3 years, Mazda has had the least amount of recalls and lowest cost of ownership IN THE WORLD!
      They did have some teething problems, since breaking away from Ford and building their own cars from the chassis up, but lately they have been kicking everyone's ass! The CX5 is the world's best selling SUV - period.
      If any criticism can be aimed at them, it's that they are a bit under-powered (they sacrificed power for economy and reliability - that's how Toyota made their name remember? Old Toyotas would leave body parts along the road but would start every single time you turned the key...you wouldn't get to your destination first, but you'd get there every single time!) but that's changing slowly with the ALL-MAZDA turbo engines starting to appear. Mazda have always been slow to implement new technologies in their cars (like lane departure, blind-spot monitoring, etc.) but that was to avoid loading the customers with new-technology pricing and to ensure that it was thoroughly tested before it was released. How many times haven't you seen auto makers rush to launch a new feature only to have to make wholesale recalls to fix the numerous quirks that surface? THAT simply doesn't happen with Mazda folks! When you buy a Mazda nowadays, you basically only need to budget for oil-changes and tires - sh*t just doesn't go wrong with them and they're actually a great car to drive.
      PS: Art in my heart - Mazdas were very Ford-influenced (mechanically) in the past. Mazda have been independent since the latest-body Mazda3, Mazda6 and the launch of the CX5 (about 2013? Not sure).

    The Mazda 6 is the best in it's segment. Mazda makes a number of cars that stand above most competitors. It usually takes 3 - 5 years to tickle the information into the market. No marketing and no money will change that. People are just that slow.
    The Holden is a miss from the beginning. It's a try to still sell an outdated platform with a big engine and loudspeakers in the interior to give people emotions of class. We need to skip that kind of nonsense, it's 2017, Holden!
    The Volkswagen Tuareg is the platform for the fancier variants Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7. If you can live with lesser fancy status and don't need the huge bulk of the Q7, this is the variant to buy. The Porsche variant also is too small inside. It sells bunches in China but I prefer the original.
    If you say the Holden (Chevy) is boring but the Kia K900 is simply ugly.

    I think of hidden gems as rare, interesting, or cars you see every day, yet didn’t know they existed, such as a 2012 on American market Chevy Captiva, Chevy Trailblazer SS, Chevy HHR SS Turbo, Ford EcoSport, Dodge Caliber, Chrysler Aspen, Etc. You don’t normally think of these or even know the name of them when you see it!
