I have been practicing this for 10 hours for the past week. This is the first song I’m trying to learn on piano and right now I have the first two parts down. Only two more to go. The key to learning songs which seems difficult to play (both hands) is to listen to the particular song all the time. Repeatedly, on loop keep listening to it. The notes gets registered in your head when you listen to it a lot of times. And when you sit to learn the song on piano, it's easier to pick up the difficult parts and play smoothly sooner than you think. I learnt RIVER FLOWS IN YOU in 4 hours :)

Hope it went well! I got mine a year ago today actually and just finished learning this song myself. I didn’t start on day one though 😂 Funnily enough, the very first song I learned was My Heart Will Go On and I used his tutorial. Gotta love this guy.
I have been practicing this song for about an hour and I love it its pretty easy i have both hands down for part one and two and now have to practice part 3 and 4 anyone one who is struggling slow down the vid and practice that way. In the bottom right corner there is a settings button click it and hit playback speed and slow it down. :)

Do you have any tips for 2:00 . I can do the chords individually and melody. And i can also combine them. But I can’t seem to have my left hand independent from the right. My left hand wants to press a key the same time as when my right hand does
Hey everyone i was struggling at first but now i finished learning this and i control this piece Here are some tips that helped me and could help you: My tips are: 1. Be relaxed and take your time learning it It could take a month, two or three but u will get it eventually 2. Try listening to the piece a lot so your brain will remember the notes 3. Try playing it slow at first and break it to little parts 4. Have fun with it, music is fun Dont freak yourself out and be too much in your mind, try to feel the process and enjoy it You can do everything you want to! So go for it i believe in you

I recommend for people that are learning piano/keyboard for the first time to learn a song with simple chords at first. It will help your left hand cooperate with your right hand. I recommend to also practice playing the c major scale on both hands as an exercise! I personally just started learning classical for the first time after 5-8 months of playing. I gotta say it is pretty difficult but I have gotten a bit used to it, hehehe. I see that a lot of people are learning this song for their first song. I personally started with some simple and short songs like you are my sunshine, etc. I personally noticed that most classical music has broken up chords for the left hand, that is usually what makes it a bit difficult for me! For me I like to play different genres, so you do you! I also recommend to have at least some knowledge on music theory, whether it's from school or research. It's fine if you don't follow and you just want to be able to play your favorite songs ofc! *note: please don't take me as a professional or if I offend you in anyway or you maybe disagree with me, I'm sorry this is just my opinion you can do what you want and what you love! Also keep up the good work and keep practicing!*
Yup to many people here that don't want to invest the time into it and yea, sure everybody can play this after a view months but if you don't know in which scale this song is and know basics about scales, chords en chords progressions then i think investing time in these things is progressing your piano skills much much faster. You should not only know how to replicate a song but also see patterns and why something is build/played as it is.
I dont know what music sheets are for..... I dont know what the numbers on some pianos are for....but i still know the keys to play two of the songs... the first song that i learned by myself was the "happy birthday" song and the second song is the main part of "river flows in you" where it goes like ta da da da da daa ta da da da daa da ta da da da da da daa daaa daaaa daaa daa da da.
music sheets are papers that have the notes of the song you want to play, example if you got some the music sheets of “River flows in you” you have a paper filled with the notes of how to play the song, its just like a book on how to play a song but in notes. im not really good at explaining 😅😅 i also suggest to play something more easier... cause if your first song is “happy birthday” depending on what speed is it and if theres a lot of notes... but go ahead and still play”River flows in you”!! it might be hard but keep on practicing!! 😁😁

Even if it takes someone more experienced a few days. I find that anyone can play anything on the piano, just, it takes different amount of time for some people. @@paulinius i had that same problem but i realized that in a lot of keyboards you can go to settings and turn on sustain for the entire keyboard. it kinda sucks cause you cant control it with a pedal but its better then nothing.
I am a beginner. I have never played with 2 hands. I will keep you updated on my progress for this song Day 1: I can play 1st part with bad timing, practiced for 5 mins, as it was getting late at night. Day 2: i can play 1st part perfectly. I can also play 2nd part perfectly but i have to slow my pace to do that. Otherwise at normal pace i do some errors. Day 9: I didn't practice, as I had learned other songs too, and I played them But I am back, and I can play 2 parts without stutter and at original speed Day 10: I can now play 3rd part at slow speed, and at original speed with little mistakes only 🎉🎉🎉
Tip for anyone struggling to play both hands at the same time: print out the sheet music he's linked and really try and understand when a full beat is played (♩) vs two half beats (♫) , it'll hopefully help you understand which note on the right hand should be played along with the one on the left :) Also keep in mind the ͡ line above notes just means that note is to be held down for those beats, so you're not actually pressing it again when it connects to the ending note. I KNOW it seems annoying to learn the sheet music but it really will help you understand what youre doing! Hope I made sense

3. Break the parts into smaller parts, and practice each little part until you master, then move onto the next one
4. The third part is slightly more difficult, so play slow, and master it slowly, then build speed

Hey everyone i was struggling at first but now i finished learning this and i control this piece
Here are some tips that helped me and could help you:
My tips are:
1. Be relaxed and take your time learning it
It could take a month, two or three but u will get it eventually
2. Try listening to the piece a lot so your brain will remember the notes
3. Try playing it slow at first and break it to little parts
4. Have fun with it, music is fun
Dont freak yourself out and be too much in your mind, try to feel the process and enjoy it
You can do everything you want to! So go for it i believe in you

I recommend for people that are learning piano/keyboard for the first time to learn a song with simple chords at first. It will help your left hand cooperate with your right hand. I recommend to also practice playing the c major scale on both hands as an exercise! I personally just started learning classical for the first time after 5-8 months of playing. I gotta say it is pretty difficult but I have gotten a bit used to it, hehehe. I see that a lot of people are learning this song for their first song. I personally started with some simple and short songs like you are my sunshine, etc. I personally noticed that most classical music has broken up chords for the left hand, that is usually what makes it a bit difficult for me! For me I like to play different genres, so you do you! I also recommend to have at least some knowledge on music theory, whether it's from school or research. It's fine if you don't follow and you just want to be able to play your favorite songs ofc! *note: please don't take me as a professional or if I offend you in anyway or you maybe disagree with me, I'm sorry this is just my opinion you can do what you want and what you love! Also keep up the good work and keep practicing!*
Yup to many people here that don't want to invest the time into it and yea, sure everybody can play this after a view months but if you don't know in which scale this song is and know basics about scales, chords en chords progressions then i think investing time in these things is progressing your piano skills much much faster. You should not only know how to replicate a song but also see patterns and why something is build/played as it is.
I dont know what music sheets are for..... I dont know what the numbers on some pianos are for....but i still know the keys to play two of the songs... the first song that i learned by myself was the "happy birthday" song and the second song is the main part of "river flows in you" where it goes like ta da da da da daa ta da da da daa da ta da da da da da daa daaa daaaa daaa daa da da.

music sheets are papers that have the notes of the song you want to play, example if you got some the music sheets of “River flows in you” you have a paper filled with the notes of how to play the song, its just like a book on how to play a song but in notes. im not really good at explaining 😅😅 i also suggest to play something more easier... cause if your first song is “happy birthday” depending on what speed is it and if theres a lot of notes... but go ahead and still play”River flows in you”!! it might be hard but keep on practicing!! 😁😁

Even if it takes someone more experienced a few days. I find that anyone can play anything on the piano, just, it takes different amount of time for some people. *cries in no sustain pedal because I have a midi keyboard and I know I can buy one but I refunded it because it didn't work*
@@paulinius i had that same problem but i realized that in a lot of keyboards you can go to settings and turn on sustain for the entire keyboard. it kinda sucks cause you cant control it with a pedal but its better then nothing.

I am a beginner. I have never played with 2 hands. I will keep you updated on my progress for this song
Day 1: I can play 1st part with bad timing, practiced for 5 mins, as it was getting late at night.
Day 2: i can play 1st part perfectly. I can also play 2nd part perfectly but i have to slow my pace to do that. Otherwise at normal pace i do some errors.
Day 9: I didn't practice, as I had learned other songs too, and I played them But I am back, and I can play 2 parts without stutter and at original speed
Day 10: I can now play 3rd part at slow speed, and at original speed with little mistakes only 🎉🎉🎉
I've never seen such an easy to understand tutorial yet very close to the original version. You did a great job! ❤️👏👏
Tip for anyone struggling to play both hands at the same time: print out the sheet music he's linked and really try and understand when a full beat is played (♩) vs two half beats (♫) , it'll hopefully help you understand which note on the right hand should be played along with the one on the left :) Also keep in mind the ͡ line above notes just means that note is to be held down for those beats, so you're not actually pressing it again when it connects to the ending note. I KNOW it seems annoying to learn the sheet music but it really will help you understand what youre doing! Hope I made sense
