WCW/nWo Revenge is a wrestling video game from 1998 for the Nintendo 64 game. It is the sequel to WCW vs. nWo: World Tour. Like its predecessor, Revenge features AKI's revolutionary grappling system, improved graphics, championship mode and a large roster. - เกม

AKI man had some sick stuff. Maya Inca boy or whatever his name was had that apron clothesline. I loved to do that in battle royals for shits and giggles
He was my favorite. I renamed him "Cyborg"
I honestly had no idea that any of these were hidden characters! Both copies of this game that I've owned were bought used and already had everyone unlocked.
I remember changing Scott Hall back into Razor Ramon with costume change mode. Good times.

You missed 1 character, Wrath, he is unlocked with a gameshark as he was created BY THQ but for some reason not added to the roster but is in fact available. You then win a title with him, then turn off the console, remove gameshark and turn on the game and win the title wrath won, and he is now unlocked .
I'd heard he was in the code and in the game but was inaccessible through regular gameplay. Yeah.
this was my favorive wresitling game growing up i would literally get up at 6 am to play it before school each day

I've owned this game since 1998 (and still play it!!) and had no idea Rick Rude came out with Hennig until I saw this video.
I had to buy another version of this game recently since I "wore out" the original one I had. Lots of glitches, especially with the text, and it wouldn't save anything anymore, like costume changes, new champions, names on score rankings, etc. It would reset every time it powered down. Very strange.
i fucking love this game, as well as all wrestling games that came out for N64

Most logical controls of any wrestling game ever. Each move was set up in a thought out manner. Sure some idiots just banged on the buttons, but they would be really pissed when the person just relaxing next to them counters every move because he understands the controls and only need a single button press to ruin your 500 bangs a second.

My brother and I changed every name, full and alias, to every wrestler in this game we played it so much. We then had Wrath. Never used a gameshark or anything he just appeared in the WCW list at the bottom.
I still have this game and my N64, will be playing this tomorrow

@@GuyNamedSean yep. Roddy is gone, kanyon/mortis committed suicide in 2010, and Curt Henning aka mr. Perfect also died. It sucks because they all were very talented wrestlers.

The only thing that I couldn't stand with these games is the lack of entrance music compared to WWF/WWE games made by THQ. If the actual theme music would have been in this game, it would have made it that much better!
Yeah, they could have at least tried to give each faction/promotion their own theme - a theme for WCW guys, nWo theme for the black & white, Wolfpack theme for the red & black, no theme or random theme for the Flock, and themes for the other dudes.
Because WWF/E won't allow other wrestling companies to have entrance themes in their games which is stupid
Cool nostalgia! Originally, the hidden character for the World Heavyweight championship was Ric Flair, but of course we know what happened. 😒☹👍

Actually there is one more secret character in this game. Wrath is also available, but you can only unlock him with a Game Genie

I had an amazing moment with Kanyon where I had an instant TKO with his running knee at the start of a match
This game is fucking awesome my friends and I would play battle royal for hours on and the game play was pretty easy too

Strange how they made Kanyon TV champion when he hadn't held the title in real life. Great game though, and Kanyon was awesome.

No Kidman won the title on Nitro the night after the Flock broke up.

Four of the top five wrestling games EVER from ANY company or organization were on the N64. This is one, wcw/nWo world tour, no mercy and wrestlemania 2000 are the other 3. In case you were wondering “what’s the fifth game?” It’s the first smackdown on ps2 which, incidentally was made by these developers who created this game. Man, I wish that they would all reunite and even if they got a generic game of just wrestling made, not a game for any brand or organization, I would be first in line for them to take my money! They could use characters like pro wrestling for the NES did and the game would STILL be more awesome than ANYTHING that was released in the past 20 years! This game is playable today, not for the graphics or anything but the sheer quality of play and the fun of this title! I have not bought a wrestling game in 5 years because they ALL suck now and I think they should get back on track by backtracking to see how they made games like this so great.
You should try Virtual Pro Wrestling 2. Also by AKI with more of a puro bent.
@@Fettclone1 I have it. The mechanics are good but the moves and characters aren’t as familiar as the other ones. They don’t for example have a lot of lucha libre representation in the virtua pro games as their American counterparts. Not saying that I don’t like it but I usually end up playing with the same characters (Johnny smith mitsuhara misawa and Vader are just a couple who I REPEATEDLY play with in the game.) because they have intense movesets and have a more international feel. Even no mercy and wm 2000 have lucha and Japanese characters who you can use. That’s not the same with virtua pro. Even the first wcw/nWo game was basically the same game in Japan and the USA but they tweaked them for their audience. That’s a game where the Japanese one is better because of the inclusion of more characters but after this game, they diverged from doing something along those lines. That’s why I named the games I did because I like them better personally. Their appeal is so much greater to me than the other ones.

This was legit the best wrestling game ever. Just beats Wrestlemania and No Mercy. Wrestlemania had a shitty roster apart from the main superstars, and No Mercy was very slow. Revenge had best roster because its full of legends, luchadors and other promos. The speed was perfect, the presentation smooth and ITS WCW -a defunct wrestling promo...how cool is that!? 2 years after this games release, WCW was canned by WWF. Such a classic game, classic roster and story

I got this game in early 1999 when I was in the 11th grade I would play this game for hours, I heard that you could unlock tiv flair and ultimate warrior with tje game shark is that true if so does anybody have those codes or know them, the only wrestler I unlocked with the game shark is wrath

Wrestling Video Games who is the truck driver he looks like big show a bit but he isn't. also its possible to play as managers via gameshark but the game freezes if you try to attack from what I remember

Flair was supposed to be in the game, but was taken out by Bischoff due to their real life issues. Real shame, Flair not being there weakens the roster.

Flair had legal issues with WCW at the time and was not in the game.
Lol why did the developers of this game have Rowdy Roddy Piper as World Champion? He never won a world championship ever in his career, which is exactly very, very sad.
I've always thought Ric Flair may have had that spot as the hidden character as WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and then swapped with Piper once he was removed from the game.

Why was piper champ in this game?
Lets see here, Revenge was released in Oct '98 in North America, given that the champions of that year prior to its release were Hogan (who was on the cover lets not forget), Sting and Savage. Piper had a total of 7 matches in '98 and besides a failed effort to capture the tag straps with Flair against The Outsiders had only challenged Hogan for the WCW title once. I guess seeing Piper as a champion, again prior to '98 was a rarity.
