    Beautiful, as always! I'm a periodontist and dental implant specialist. So many of our colleagues only show the cases that were successful, making the rest of us feel like we're doing something wrong. Showing your mistakes is better for everyone. First, it shows you're human. Second, as others have said, we learn from it all. God bless.

    Never apologize for the length of a vid when your creating and teaching art. If someone doesn’t want to watch the full length they can always bounce out. Amazing work you accomplish, to think less than 72hrs ago I was oblivious to this type of content and now I’m binging.

    What an awesome vase you have once again created. You are so correct, these more intricate, high end pieces can be hard to sell because of their final production costs but I am truly confident you will sell this one and all your future creations because they are true works of art. Bravo and please keep pushing the boundaries of your talent for us to enjoy.👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    • @Duke4ever188

      @@brucemcgeehan8255The thermal reaction as the epoxy hardens can cause the balloon to burst. Fir these reasons, I have always preferred sand because it retains the shape desired and absorbs the heat from the epoxy curing.

  • @qapla
    @qapla 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Beautiful finished piece ... the high-gloss finish looks right for this. The shape and size of the foot is just right. I agree with @Leisongi Vangomo that a lid would be nice ... maybe the other piece you set aside because of how thin it is could be shaped into a lid ... just a thought.
    Have you thought of trying to use tape for a project like this instead of the bags-n-rice. Perhaps you could tape the outside and then pour the resin from the inside in multiple pours. Let each part cure enough not to run, rotate the piece and do the next pour. You might have to skip the pressure pot - but, if you used a vacuum chamber on the resin before you poured it should prevent most bubbles. It seems like that would take much less resin and way less work turning the inside.
    Let me know what you think

    • @SpragueWoodturning
      @SpragueWoodturning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally follow you, but there’s a good chance of leaks doing it this way and very time consuming as well. I really want to use the pressure pot at all costs, it will push the resin into areas that it ordinarily wouldn’t flow and kill pretty much all bubbles. Sometimes things just need to be done the hard way. Thanks

I also think you should always give the amount of time they actually take to make. Unless you are a turner you just don't get how much time it is!
