I just started poe 2 months ago(standard) and went through a few builds before trying this one. This shit is OP. Despair right click, orb walk and teleport your way through all. I still have so many stats to optimize, its crazy to me! Didnt realise how smooth it could be played. I will go with this in my first real season!

Thank you! I am a huge advocate for Palsteron's builds. Master Surgeon is incredibly powerful and provides a very large amount of recovery especially when used in combination with the increased recovery on low life pantheon. Personally I chose to take natures boon because I am using life recovery on flask use as my recovery mechanic alongside life leech, and I am scaling a lot of flask effect for my utility flasks. You could definitely experiment with nature's boon though.
yo, where is the section that i recall reading about 'impending doom not casting on first click/cast of despair' check list? i can't recall if it said something about the levels of the skill gems or curses mattered. specifically punishment or whatever.
i have a question tho.. do we scale dot multi and poison dmg? things like poisons you inflict deals damage faster etc or is just flat chaos dmg and %chaos dmg?
one note, aparently there's a crucible node that gives you leech based on the overkill damage the doomblast deals, if you run petrified blood that can help with the dots "Due to lack of life leech, use a life flask to combat ground based dots"
@@moutiaRP thinking more about it that node is completely useless if you run the poison version of the build But if you're using the crit version you can benefit from having petrified blood because since you never reach full life the leech juat keep going forever, like the slayer infinite leech thing.

Which cast speed number should i look at in pob? the one on the curse or the cast speed for doom blast? since vixens has cast speed for curses im not sure which number i should look at for the document.
Hey, I think you just convined me of my league starter for friday :) Just a quick question though. Why do you use your Flasks with the flagellant mod even though you want them to be up permanently with the Pathfinder sustain? Wouldnt it be better to use something like chrage recovery and not spec so heavily int o flask clusters on your tree. Or at least use alchemists on the elemental flasks since they will still have 100% uptime even with the reduced duration mod?
So the reason for this is that the build takes the "recover 4% of life when you use a flask" mastery on the passive tree. Flaggellant's mod + our increased flask charges gained means that when we get hit, we gain a significant amount of flask charges, filling our flasks and causing them to be used, and then recovering life. Think of it as a "life gain when hit" kinda thing.
Punishment is being overridden by despair and vice Versa to proc doom blast. When despair is removed, it counts as the curse expiring and activates the doom blast.
Quite honestly I am unsure about the awakened spell cascade part. I have tried to educate myself best I can, however I am unsure of this exact interaction and where you should put a single awakened cascade, and if you should run just 1. I will continue trying to gather information and reply as best I can. Unfortunately doom blast is one of the more complicated builds, imo more complex than cast on crit.
I have major wrist issues myself and designed this build specifically for that reason. I press my curse on one pack and it dies, and on single target im tanky enough to stand still and hold down the attack button + withering step. Divine blessing is pressed one time every 20 seconds on single target and other than that you have to press flame dash to dodge, although the movespeed is high enough that it isn't necessary while mapping. While mapping its essentially a one button build and on single target its a channeled build with a 20s divine blessing. At least in this iteration. You probably wont be able to face tank pinnacles before getting progenesis though.
A lot of talking, but I have no idea how on Earth did you get 30mln in PoB. When I select Despair (Active) as "Include in Full DPS" in your PoB, I get 7.7mln.

I dont understand how your malevolence has 0 cost, I have the Same gain 3 charges when hit and Reduced mana cost flask as you and same passive skill tree and clusters, rings and amulet with reduced mana cost of non channel skills, but my malevolence still cost 282 mana

Thank you! Self casting despair because rolling blue sockets is easier on a staff (str/int requirement). Eternal Struggle is a very powerful amulet, can definitely use it for this build, especially since we dont have cull either.
Problem might lie in your aoe or cast speed. Either the gem levels on your curses are too low, so they aren't overlapping, or you have too much/too little cast speed.
I personally think a 1h/shield is just worse, at least for this version of the build. I would maybe look into apep's as a 1h, or some sort of crafted poison 1h like steelmage had last league if you really insist on 1h/shield. Personally I don't see any benefit to it.
have vixens, have links setup as described, it doesnt work, cast speed is within "non brick range" doesnt work, you cast once and you are left with a pile of mobs walking towards you with 3 curses on them
Would it be at all a good idea to swap to a one handed weapon and put your 6L in the chest? This way u can also run Dawnbreaker for 20% of phys taken as fire, lightning AND col? or am i missing something? Greta build btw! gunna be swapping over to it as soon as I am not busy from work!
Build already has 100% phys taken as by the endgame, so no real need for dawnbreaker. Also, staves give an absolutely absurd amount of damage. I think last time I checked, swapping from a Cane of Kulemak on the endgame PoB took my dps from 30mil down to 13 or so. Even in a +3 chest while dual wielding apeps it doesnt cross 20mil. You are, of course, free to experiment. This is just the reason I chose to use a staff.
alternate quality increased duration? Or maybe your flask craft isn't high enough tier (it rolls from 20-25). You might also be missing increased flask effect somewhere (tree nodes, ascendancy?).
Any update on how it goes with Master Surgeon? I've seen a few builds that say the life recovery is so good that it nullifies most of the degen effects on you
I have no plans to use master surgeon. The only (somewhat) dangerous DoT is poison (since we mitigate bleed with pantheon and CB with jewel). In theory that new amulet would solve that last crutch for weakness to poison, but I will hold off on testing that until I have the build in a better state.
Do I need Anomalous Increased Duration support gem? I can't seem to use malevolacne with divine blessing as it costs too much mana? What should I do? great guide / build btw
Its pretty simple. Count the # of cdr on your items, then refer to the spreadsheet section under the "CDR" section. Then try to get as close to "cast speed maxdps" and stay under "cast speed hardcap" (spreadsheet was updated with new terms. Will also explain in my update video).

I'm currently level 71 with roughly all the early pob gear but I don't think my curses are working correctly as I have very little damage, so I'm going down the list of why vixens isn't working to see if that's the issue.

In my testing I did not feel that cursed ground was good on pathfinder. I do not recommend it at all, however, your experience may differ. It is not something I feel comfortable recommending.
Malevolence has 0 mana cost thanks to the following: Anomalous increased duration Inspiration Flask with reduced mana cost during flask effect modifier. Patheon recommendations are Arakaali and Ralakesh.
the lowest budget version of the build is the minimum required gear. I do not know the exact budget as I am not playing in trade league. Just follow the minimum gear requirements on the early set up in the pob and you should be good.

Purity of elements, Grace and Herald of agony are on mana. Malevolence is on divine blessing. Vitality is on arrogance so it reserves life. You can swap Grace with Haste depending on whether you prefer speed or defense (make sure haste doesn't brick cast rate).
Possible problems could include - too much cast speed, too little cast speed, not enough aoe (curse gem levels). Steelmage was having this problem too, but levelling your gems should help.

The only brick mod for the build is 50% reduced flask charges gained. There are some annoying mods as follows: Players have #% reduced cooldown recovery rate: Reduces damage a lot, reduces cdr on vixens and doom blast. Monsters have #% chance to avoid poisons: Self explanatory. Less damage multiplier. Players have #% reduced effect of non-curse auras: Reduces aura effect, can be annoying and if you are barely res capped then losing aura effect on purity can cause you to lose res cap. Players have -#% to maximum resistances: Painful mod to run, makes you a lot squishier. Players have #% reduced curse effect: a bit annoying, reduces damage and survivablity since we are a build that relies on curses. Monsters are hexproof: previous mod but on crack. Players cannot leech: Not a bother until you have alt qual void manipulation. If you do, then this can be slightly annoying. Players cannot regen: Problematic early, but after getting alt qual void manipulation this is no longer an issue (mostly because of poison) Players have #% reduced recovery rate of life, mana and energy shield: Not REALLY an issue, but can be annoying. Once you have decent gear, most of these mods are not problematic whatsoever. The only mods I roll over are minus max res, reduced flask charges and no regen. But if you are on the extreme low budget version then these are mods you might have to look out for. Hope this helps :D

@@robins8771 Both. Wither ascendancy node will apply around 6-7 withers so you want withering step to cap that out. Preferably alt quality for consistent 15 stacks.
just make sure you are super diligent with your gearing and process. This is one of the more complex and difficult builds in the game so be super thorough with EVERYTHING. There are people (including myself) who are very well versed at the game and still don't understand everything about this build completely. If you have any issues, leave a comment and I'll try to respond, but I cannot stress the complexity of this enough, I would probably rate it at higher complexity than even Cast on Crit. CB jewel for CB immunity, Arakaali pantheon for poison. I'm currently level 97; not levelling up though cause I refuse to read map mods so I end up doing -max res and reduced aura effect and whatnot.

@@stardust2311 its a poison build, so dot multi and poison damage also help. Poison faster helps with reducing ramp time.

my skill trigger rate is never the same as the pob, mine stays at 4 and the pob is 25, any idea what is the cause?

EB is definitely a good early option. I am also personally running EB early and will talk about it once I post my build update.

Gem levels most likely, you probably have a lack of aoe from lower gem levels. I will be adding this in once I post a build update.

Yes you need anomalous increased duration for malevolence to be free. Until then you can use eldritch battery

How do you think this version compares to Fyregrass Critical Hit occultist version? Still tossing up on which version to play.
I personally prefer poison myself, especially this patch since it has easy access to crit immunity.

Monsters have #% chance to avoid poisons: Self explanatory. Less damage multiplier.
Players have #% reduced effect of non-curse auras: Reduces aura effect, can be annoying and if you are barely res capped then losing aura effect on purity can cause you to lose res cap.
Players have -#% to maximum resistances: Painful mod to run, makes you a lot squishier.
Players have #% reduced curse effect: a bit annoying, reduces damage and survivablity since we are a build that relies on curses.
Monsters are hexproof: previous mod but on crack.
Players cannot leech: Not a bother until you have alt qual void manipulation. If you do, then this can be slightly annoying.
Players cannot regen: Problematic early, but after getting alt qual void manipulation this is no longer an issue (mostly because of poison)
Players have #% reduced recovery rate of life, mana and energy shield: Not REALLY an issue, but can be annoying.
Once you have decent gear, most of these mods are not problematic whatsoever. The only mods I roll over are minus max res, reduced flask charges and no regen. But if you are on the extreme low budget version then these are mods you might have to look out for.

@@robins8771 Both. Wither ascendancy node will apply around 6-7 withers so you want withering step to cap that out. Preferably alt quality for consistent 15 stacks.

just make sure you are super diligent with your gearing and process. This is one of the more complex and difficult builds in the game so be super thorough with EVERYTHING. There are people (including myself) who are very well versed at the game and still don't understand everything about this build completely. If you have any issues, leave a comment and I'll try to respond, but I cannot stress the complexity of this enough, I would probably rate it at higher complexity than even Cast on Crit. No real way of target farming them. This build was designed for trade leagues.
how do u deal with corrupting blood or poison damage during maps?
CB jewel for CB immunity, Arakaali pantheon for poison. I'm currently level 97; not levelling up though cause I refuse to read map mods so I end up doing -max res and reduced aura effect and whatnot.
