Gorgeous work. What kind of alloy is it? Phosphor/tin bronze? Silicon bronze? Aluminum bronze? What kind of tarnish resistance can the customer expect? I mean, I know all copper alloys tarnish over time given the right conditions, but as far as I know the aluminum bronzes resist tarnishing pretty well, whereas the tin based bronzes start turning almost immediately... kinda its thing.

I know this is a post to an old question, but Bronze-Aluminum is about 3X the weight of Aluminum (per cubic foot). About 481 lbs vs. 168 lbs. You can hear the guy "oof" when he lifts the hood.
All very good only problem is having someone on 24 HR standby with a cloth and metal polish to stop oxidation, not to mention what is going on underneath.
how did you get all the hammering out with out filler i know you filed it with the cutter but you can bring it down to where when you buff theirs no indentations.
I don't understand why European fabricators make the FIA GT versions of the cobra, with roof, and American kits seem to only be roadsters. The roof increases speed, makes a more comfortable drive and let's you drive in rain.
English Wheel. What are your thoughts on the size of the wheel? Is larger (ht & w) better or is the difference minimal? Just saw a video of guy using an upper wheel 6-8 inches wide and of course same for anvil. Enjoy your work and videos.
The English wheel (as we call it in the US--in England they simply call it a "wheeling machine), is EXTREMELY difficult to master. There aren't many of us left in the world who know how to use one. Larger wheels work better--mostly because they have more inertia and can squish welds pretty easily. That said, stretch forms are way, way easier.
Is there any possibility that a highschool student that is about to graduate could have forged a block and borrow the facilities after receiving training for them to turn that forged block into a engine block?
I'm asking if someone bought/commissioned a certain metal cast if the school would let them use their machinery to make it into a engine block. Enrolled or not and would there be a charge for doing so?
How can jewelry like that ever be used as intended? Of course anyone who can truly afford to buy one can also afford the regular refinishing that hard road use generates. Awesome craftsmanship still lives.
Many of our customers just keep their cars in their garage (or house, or office, or wherever) just like any other piece of art. The bronze cars are spectacularly beautiful in real life.

Silicon bronze. We TIG weld with parent material (we shear strips off the sheet and use it for welding rod).

Stainless is a bit tough to form but I am sure we could do it.

Dave can you make me a stainless steel cobra? No polish, no rust, shiny, super strong. and of course totally cool.

We straighten it with a hammer and dolly and then file off the last imperfections so we can polish the surface.

We would have to make tooling which is very expensive to make. The first one would be many, many thousands.

Why Bronze? It's heavy and a maintenance headache due to tarnishing. However the craftsmanship demonstrated here is first class.

i realize it kinda cool, but the weight...that thing must be heavy as hell compared to an aluminum version.
250 maybe 300 pounds. Bronze is quite dense.
I know it looks cool but why bronze? Aluminum is so much lighter and easier to work & weld!
Because bronze is beautiful. Aluminum is easier to form, but harder to weld than bronze.
