    Han Solo killing Palpatine was within Palpatine’s plans, since it allowed his spirit to leave his body and possess Anakin. Previously, when Palpatine wanted to take a younger body to fight and defeat Luke (which he did), he turned his own Force Lightning on himself to kill himself in order to transfer his essence.

    I think THIS death of Palpatine is much better than Rise of Skywalker.
    Rise of Skywalker: he is killed in an anticlimactic fashion, by a force sensitive who would've been WAY weaker than him. Rey Palpatine (while some like I guess) defeats him because of plot convenience, when she has A) less training than the Sith Lord under her belt, B) facing Palpatine when he is basically at the height of his power, and C) has been weakened by Palpatine by a ritual to make himself stronger.
    He is killed by his own force lightning, which to comical effect, he just cannot turn off.
    Legends: Palpatine's hatred and ego blinds him, denying the embrace of death, and even the throne among the dead offered by the spirits of Korriban. While he's not weakened in the Force, his overreliance on it puts him on a strict deadline, as his powers will shorten his life expectancy, his resources, and a show of his desperation. While the story COULD have been some huge, climactic battle where he could've been a god-like entity in the Force, akin to a Nihilus or even a Vitiate, this I think is much more fitting for him.
    Remember that Palpatine thinks SO little of those who cannot touch the Force, even individuals like his own father, Cosinga Palpatine, that this comes back around as one of the most humbling moments in his life. Palpatine, as a Sith lord, covets power, and has stepped over and ruined the lives of billions, if not trillions of lives, in order to feed that lust for power and ego.
    To have him gunned down by someone without the gifts of the Force is perhaps the ultimate insult to his ego, and the sacrifice performed by an Order 66 survivor, is perhaps the greatest judgment he could receive.

      @Hello-bi1pm 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      So you're going to wax poetically about a smuggler, but don't consider anything about his own bloodline rejecting him in TROS. This sounds like dishonest analysis

    • @psycake1310
      @psycake1310 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Hello-bi1pm I disagree.
      The sequel trilogy is, well, a mess. Between JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson, whatever chance Rey Palpatine had as a character was ruined, in my honest opinion. No disrespect to Daisy Ridley, of course.
      But anyways, the major problem between Rey and Grandpa Sheev is power scaling.
      A) Rey IS a Mary Sue. This is because JJ Abrams doesn't understand how the Force works (thinking characters just have to believe in the Force, and they unlock their powers). She COULD have a high midichlorian count, be naturally gifted in the Force, but has minimal training under her belt.
      B) Palpatine is WAY older, and with that time, has practiced with the Dark Side longer than Rey has been alive. His understanding and knowledge of the Force would eclipse her power, several times over.
      C) He drained some of her power, and used it to bolster his own power level. This would only expand the gap, and place her at an even larger disadvantage.
      Say what you will, but the idea was half-baked. It COULD have been better, were it written more competently. If Sheev could tear starships out of the sky with Force Lightning, why wouldn't a blast of power like that just atomize Rey Palpatine? At least with Legends, the stakes were comprehensible. On both sides.

      Palpatine coming back was also ripped straight outta dark empire. To me, that makes it a high point of a, in my opinion, badly told trilogy. Even if everything had to happen exactly the same plot wise, I could still have come up with some better scripts.
      "Somehow... Palpatine returned..." for instance. Don't give that line to poe. Keep the bulk of that revelation involved in the conversation between Ben and Palpatine. Something like:
      Ben: I'll kill you.
      Palpatine: *laughs*
      Ben: what's so funny?
      Palpatine: Its ironic... the skywalkers always see fit to destroy me in the name of "peace" and "justice," and they never succeed...
      Ben: but how is that possible? You should've gone down with the second death star!
      Palpatine: the dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural...
      Ben: is it possible to weild such power?
      Palpatine: (turns to face Ben as Ben's lightsaber shines on his face) Not by a Jedi...

      I think Sidious' death in the Dark Empire materials is better and somehow more metaphysical or cerebral. As @Solarwraith said, "Poetic." But we cannot say this was a minute death by a smuggler. Rather, the natural authority of a father (and mother), whose position as head of his family (presider, provider, and protector) exercised his love concentrated in the blast bolt that destroyed the enemy and freed his son. Multiple space wizard priests were present to stop and exorcise the devil, but it was the authority and love of a father who ended the strife. And the sacrifice in the light of the fallen Jedi who ended the cycle.

    I love that they canonized Palpatine coming back to life. Even before disney bought SW I always imagined the sequel trilogy to be that Palpatine comes back. I just hate that it had to be Rey's and Kylo's story. It should have been 30 your old Luke, in his prime, starting his new Jedi Order.

    Why did Palps not transfer his force into Luke? Why just artificial clones? I thought in the last George Lucas movie, Palpatine wanted Luke to kill him, so he could steal his body. That was also his plan for Anakin before he was burned. So why couldnt he transfer his essence, into Luke or Anakin? Mabye its a plot hole but it would be cool if there was a reason. Curious to see your thoughts.
