when locked in the down position I take a 10+ foot piece of line, loop it through the the top of the cam, position myself on the tramp and pull back sharply. pops it back up every time and can be done while underway.
Brent, I just bought an older hobie cat. The cams are intact, but look a little aged and brittle...might break on me sometime soon. Regardless, I can't get them out of the down, "locked" position. What's causing this and how can I free them up? Are the plungers not actuating?
Great tip!!
GREAT advice Brent on the rudder cam. Thank you.
Brent: GREAT advice on the rudder cam.
This was very helpful. The rudder system is a bit confusing for a new Hobie owner
