For example, about 10 million people watched House of the Dragon season 1's premier while only about 1 million watched the premier of Mandalorian season 2 and 2 million watched Kenobi (both being the most anticipated Star Wars shows). Only dedicated Star Wars fans are going to tune in to the Star Wars shows while House of the Dragon has more wide appeal as an adult aimed drama that doesn't require any previous show or movie knowledge. And sadly when it comes to niche fandoms like this there will always be very vocal racists, misogynists. You see the same thing in the Doctor Who community. Very loud complaints about "going woke." Meanwhile the normal fans, like us can critique it fairly. Personally, I felt like the first half of Acolyte could have been condensed down a bit and episode 4 and 5 should have been released as 1 episode. Plus Mae/Osha's acting isn't the best. Not enough personality difference to distinguish between them in my opinion. But our good faith criticisms get drowned out by the bigots and by the nitpickers like Star Wars Theory who lie about the show "breaking canon" and then people who haven't watched the show parrot those same nitpicks like they're the gospel truth. It's just exhausting.

It's now more than ever that EU stories could finally be realized in an animated format where their fantastical, exaggerated, and strange stories can be fully realized. But I do not trust any of the old stories having even "mid" adaptions whilst in possession of the mouse. I can't see KOTOR or a NJO series get butchered and dishonored by poor writing, poor acting, mediocre directing, forgettable scores, and underlying agendas. We cannot allow this fate to ever happen to legit EU stories, not their paltry and shallow DisCanon versions.
Thats how I view star wars before and after Disney tbh. When they removed the extended universe stuff I didn't take it serious, mainly because of Swtor. Like us players were in that universe, but Disney isolated people by removing it. Disney bought the rights to call their stuff cannon, but they broke their own cannon version and shit all over the work Lucas put into it. So yea I just view it as two different universes, their shit is too unstable and insulting to think of it as the only universe.
How to fix star wars in 2 easy steps: 1. Kathleen Kennedy stfu and sign checks. Producers are not creatives. Producers are critics and decide what scripts are worth making. Executive Producers decide how much budget the studio is willing to give the producer to make the movie. 2. Fire the D.E.I. officer and hire a super nerd or 2 as Canon Officers. They read the scripts, tell the writers what doesn't work and give options to fix it. It's not that hard. How do "professional" film makers not know the very basic functions of their business?

If you watch Clone Wars there is a big difference between the seasons Lucas was involved and the one Filoni did on his own. Ahsoka was his baby, and that show was a mess. Not sure about Favraeu. Didn't everyone see the bonus footage at the end of The Rise of Skywalker? Iger is in his throne room at Disney, shrouded in darkness, laughing menacingly, and everyone realizes in that moment that Palpatine was in our reality all this time. Man, I've been off the Theory train for a while, and I'm so sorry. I was convinced that I could keep enjoying my SW shows if I just didn't have any "negative" opinions pointing out the flaws, so I stopped watching SWT (and Eckharts Ladder). I got aggrivated every time I heard them talking down the shows or movies(and I know thats not WHAT you do)because I still had enough patience left to find the little sparks of what MY Star Wars was. I didnt realize that the "little sparks" were all that was left though, and despite my efforts, even those started disappeared from what I was watching. I knew 10 minutes into the first Acolyte episode that there was nothing left for me. Sorry, Theory, I understand the frustration now.

Shards of the Past is *literally* the best Star Wars content Ive seen in, *_atleast,_* 20 years. I would say its actually better than the prequels in story and intruige but its kinda hard to compare 3 feature lenght films to a 15 minute short so Ive not officially made that statment nor really looked into it, but what I can say for sure is that what I felt when I watched that was more than I felt at any moment during the prequels. It looked like Star Wars, it sounded like Star Wars, it *_FELT_* like Star Wars, and it *_MADE SENSE_* within the actual canon. The fact that you put that togeather, on your own, without a studio is absolutely insane, I CAN not fathom how the hell you managed that. Im rambling, sorry. I digress. My point is, I love Star Wars... I really do, its been one of my favorite things since the 80s. Its so much part of my life I cant remember a time it wasnt. LEGO sets and NES games since I was 4 years old and it hasnt really stopped being an omnipresent factor of my life since. But Im no where NEAR as big a fan as you are which makes me so sad. Plagueis goes into heavy research/study mode until a certain young noble of a minor house from Naboo is introduced.
Imagine this: The Acolyte is actually an adolescent Snoke. Snoke's master is a young Darth Plagueis who is the apprentice of Darth Tenebrous. Darth Tenebrous and Darth Plagueis do not see eye to eye on the future of the Sith. Plagueis goes on to eliminate Darth Tenebrous because Plareuis believes that they should create a dark order of Sith acolytes that will counter the Jedi Council and their academy. Snoke is a purist, and he believes in the ways established by Darth Bane. In a fit of rage, the young acolyte sith (Snoke) goes on a rampage ala Anakin in the Jedi temple and he eliminates all of Darth Plagueis' acolytes (The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise). Plageuis duels Snoke and Snoke receives a terrible injury (head injury) in which he discovers why Plageuis is so strong in the force. Plagueis then goes on to place Snoke in suspended animation in which he drains Snoke of his force abilities which makes Plagueis that much stronger in the force. What Plagueis doesn't know is that Snoke is also benefiting from his connection to Plagueis. He is riven the ability to look inside of Plagueis and study him for all the years that he is in a state of suspension. He also feels and understand how Sidious thinks and operates (which is how he knows the Emperor) Snoke also understands Maul and even gets a glimpse of Darth Vader before Plagueis feels that he no longer needs Snoke, because he has drained him of all his ability to connect to the force (so he thinks). plagueis disposes of him by banishing to a strange planet outside the galaxy to die. That's where The Acolyte series ends.

Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, which is a VERY old game, had a modded Courescant level that had speeders and other aerial vehicles flying around outside the windows of the council chambers shit. It was doable THEN, for them to put so little effort in now...for fucks sake. It's not a HUGE deal itself that the skies are empty there, it's WHAT it REPRESENTS, their total disregard and lack of care for anything to do with the actual property.

This show was so easy to hit out of the park. Just tell the story of how Plagus learned how powers and then run into him finding and beginning the training of Sidius. The stories of growing more powerful and hiding it from the powerful Jedi would be amazing to see.
Wouldn't be surprised the dark sider is Mother Koril. This is Lucasfilm's pattern. It's their female version of Darth Maul. They are egotistically writing characters connecting to the Skywalker saga to say they did it first

It will turn out they were controlled, influenced, coerced, confused, manipulated, deceived, take your pick. Combos are allowed. The spin will be, It was never truely Mae's fault. (Seems that may have occurred earlier than I expected, based on episode 4. Not surprising.) Remember the general theme from the show runners in PR for the show. There is no real right or wrong. Good or bad. It is all about 'perception'. It's all about who has the 'power'. At least that will apply to SOME characters with certain attributes. Others, not so much.

Thats how I view star wars before and after Disney tbh. When they removed the extended universe stuff I didn't take it serious, mainly because of Swtor. Like us players were in that universe, but Disney isolated people by removing it. Disney bought the rights to call their stuff cannon, but they broke their own cannon version and shit all over the work Lucas put into it. So yea I just view it as two different universes, their shit is too unstable and insulting to think of it as the only universe.

How to fix star wars in 2 easy steps:
1. Kathleen Kennedy stfu and sign checks. Producers are not creatives. Producers are critics and decide what scripts are worth making. Executive Producers decide how much budget the studio is willing to give the producer to make the movie.
2. Fire the D.E.I. officer and hire a super nerd or 2 as Canon Officers. They read the scripts, tell the writers what doesn't work and give options to fix it.
It's not that hard. How do "professional" film makers not know the very basic functions of their business?

Man, I've been off the Theory train for a while, and I'm so sorry. I was convinced that I could keep enjoying my SW shows if I just didn't have any "negative" opinions pointing out the flaws, so I stopped watching SWT (and Eckharts Ladder). I got aggrivated every time I heard them talking down the shows or movies(and I know thats not WHAT you do)because I still had enough patience left to find the little sparks of what MY Star Wars was. I didnt realize that the "little sparks" were all that was left though, and despite my efforts, even those started disappeared from what I was watching. I knew 10 minutes into the first Acolyte episode that there was nothing left for me. Sorry, Theory, I understand the frustration now.

Shards of the Past is *literally* the best Star Wars content Ive seen in, *_atleast,_* 20 years.
I would say its actually better than the prequels in story and intruige but its kinda hard to compare 3 feature lenght films to a 15 minute short so Ive not officially made that statment nor really looked into it, but what I can say for sure is that what I felt when I watched that was more than I felt at any moment during the prequels.
It looked like Star Wars, it sounded like Star Wars, it *_FELT_* like Star Wars, and it *_MADE SENSE_* within the actual canon.
The fact that you put that togeather, on your own, without a studio is absolutely insane, I CAN not fathom how the hell you managed that.

The Acolyte is actually an adolescent Snoke. Snoke's master is a young Darth Plagueis who is the apprentice of Darth Tenebrous. Darth Tenebrous and Darth Plagueis do not see eye to eye on the future of the Sith. Plagueis goes on to eliminate Darth Tenebrous because Plareuis believes
that they should create a dark order of Sith acolytes that will counter the Jedi Council and their academy.
Snoke is a purist, and he believes in the ways established by Darth Bane. In a fit of rage, the young acolyte sith (Snoke) goes on a rampage ala Anakin in the Jedi temple and he eliminates all of
Darth Plagueis' acolytes (The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise). Plageuis duels Snoke and Snoke receives a terrible injury (head injury) in which he discovers why Plageuis is so strong in the force. Plagueis then goes on to place Snoke in suspended animation in which he drains Snoke of his force abilities which makes Plagueis that much stronger in the force. What Plagueis doesn't know is that Snoke is also benefiting from his connection to Plagueis. He is riven the ability to look inside of Plagueis and study him for all the years that he is in a state of suspension. He also feels and understand how Sidious thinks and operates (which is how he knows the Emperor) Snoke also understands Maul and even gets a glimpse of Darth Vader before Plagueis feels that he no longer needs Snoke, because he has drained him of all his ability to connect to the force (so he thinks). plagueis disposes of him by banishing to a strange planet outside the galaxy to die. That's where The Acolyte series ends.

It was doable THEN, for them to put so little effort in now...for fucks sake. Trinity must have been upset with the way the Jedi dealt with the witches in the past or wanted their secrets...or something. I don't expect it to make any sense.

@@blackshogun272 Sounds about right. Except for the part about the Mother being evil. I just can't see the show runners making a character that ticks so many boxes be the big bad. Not after they went out of their way to play the victim card for the witches.
Sure, some tick boxing characters can start out evil, like Mae. But they will eventually be flipped to the good side before the end of the show, redeemed and accepted despite all past crimes. It will turn out they were controlled, influenced, coerced, confused, manipulated, deceived, take your pick. Combos are allowed.
The spin will be, It was never truely Mae's fault.
(Seems that may have occurred earlier than I expected, based on episode 4. Not surprising.)
Remember the general theme from the show runners in PR for the show. There is no real right or wrong. Good or bad. It is all about 'perception'. It's all about who has the 'power'.
At least that will apply to SOME characters with certain attributes. Others, not so much.
