Yeah...Cadogan wrote all their genuinely interesting/progressive stuff. Blue and Self-titled are such brilliantly diverse albums...they somehow managed to make a catchy alt rock 'power-pop' sound something eclectic and vanguard.
These guys are not just a “pop” band. Dig deeper in their older catalog. They have some really dark stuff. Slow Motion in particular is awesome and insane. lol.
Yeah... this was a GOD AWFUL performance. So bad that I felt genuinely embarrassed watching it. This was the day they started to fall and fall fast. Tony is a good guy, but nothing and no one can ever replace Kevin. Jenkins really fucked up. You know it, I know it... everyone knows it.
Guitarist played the beginning in the wrong key.....nice. Really smart move there Jenkins! He thought he was so cute he forgot to practice being a singer and guitar player......
He's actually in the right key. Just bad tone, sloppy technique and he did hit a wrong note/chord. TEB were never known for their live performances, unfortunately. Good songwriters though - and the band was great in the studio.
Sorry - I was talking about Tony but I see now that I was not clear. It's not really so much a bad key as it is the bending of the notes. I just sounds awful! :) But I agree - I love the studio stuff with Kevin. I just get mad every time I have to watch them since they booted him out. It's ALWAYS a huge disappointment.
He's just not a very good live singer. I love the first two albums but their live performances are just dreadful for the most part because of his off key singing

This wouldn't be to bad if they were a BRAND NEW band, but by 2000 they had 2 albums and even went platinum, so you would think they would've nailed down their sound and been more professional sounding, they don''t sound "bad", in my opinion they sound kind of amateur-ish
I love how much they have improved since then. Jenkins vocals. The stage presence. The guitars have amazing tones and the drunks are great. all of it is amazing now.
I like the small sparse sound better, I like being able to tell where all the different sounds are coming from. But someone mentioned a member is missing?
They’re referring to Kevin Cadogan, who was the previous lead guitar before being fired in 200. He was then replaced by Tony Fredianelli (guitarist on the left), who eventually left (or got fired from) the band in 2010 and sued them for about half of million.
@@TAMBproject oh ok thanks 🙏, 1/2 million, whew not bad, …. The original lineup had some great songs , I liked that era the 90’s was a good era for music, a lot of fresh stuff.
Interesting, Jenkins seems so relaxed, like a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders. Besides the monetary issues with Kevin Cadogan, I think Jenkins really felt pushed by Kevin. He as relieved when he didn't have to compete to be better than him. That's the other reason the music hasn't been as good since Kevin left, in addition to the direct contributions of Kevin.
So many perfectionist in comment section.. as long as teb didn't edit/dubbed their live performances unlike others they're still the best for me... 💛❤️💙

It's true, the guitar immediately sounds way off on this version. First of all, the tone is nowhere near as full as the original. Second, he doesn't bend the third string all the way up a whole step on the solo, so it sounds half-assed in comparison to the brilliant studio track. On the original solo, the guitarist bends the notes in a very smooth and accurate way that really suits the song. The studio version is perfect pop, this is amateur hour.
i saw them live on the Red Summer Sun tour, i think Kevin was gone by then, but I was high so who knows, great concert tho, we had Vertical Horizon and Nine Days as opening bands
TBH I didn't mind this performance. It was definitely amateur but fuck man it works for their style. The way he uses falsetto and raps and IDK... it's just such a unique way to do rock. Could it have been better? Yeah. But that's kinda what I like about them... they ain't some super group. There's a punk element to their stuff. That said, from the comments I gather they just lost their lead guitarist previous to this video, and from my own observation the lead singer appears to be drunk or severely drugged, so yeah. Lol. Still enjoyed it. Sick band.

Well in fairness a song like this given the singers range is much much better suited to a studio recording
Their cds sounded way better than they do live. Props to their producer.
When guitarist Kevin Cadogan was in the band - they were super HOT ! This appearance is after Kevin was forced out of the band - Big Difference-
Trash without Kevin on guitar. He definitely kept these guys in check as far as professionalism and musicianship.

How hard is it to play a couple of power chords?
