We were very lucky to live through it as teens.

This is either the most bitter or the most cathartic breakup song ever. Like seriously, to write a song about a relationship that he knows is going to end is inherently showing care and consideration for the other person. And fuck it hits. And I love it because even now you don't hear much about it... like why it can be so fuckin hard to let go, or even if it's easy for the one doing it, how hard it'll be for the other person and considering that, it's just a timeless issue

As soon as the proceedings were done and everyone knew all of the worst parts of either one of us after dragging each other through the mud we made eye contact and in-spite of our attorneys and family members feelings the two of us ended up hugging each other in the middle of the courtroom because we were young, scared, hurt, and we only knew each other to be the one to give comfort in trying times.

Steven Jenkins is one of the greatest Songwriters of our time. He is greatly underestimated and rated. He does this thing, it annoys the shit out of me… He can sing every note and be pitch perfect but he almost chooses not to in a way almost to screw with the audience. I have no idea why he does that and another thing he also does. He usually play every single song or arrange it differently than it was on the album when he plays them live and I think it’s because his mind gets bored of the song.
I got the tablature for this song in 1997. To this day I still remember how to play it. I can listen to EVERY single song on that debut album and it’s an absolute banger. They were at bonaroo 2016 on the last day in the afternoon. A lot of people had left the festival by then. Me and the guy I went with were walking back to camp where the car was and I remember hearing their performance fade as I walked back and sang along to semi charmed kind of life. At the time I wanted to stay and watch them but the guy wanted to go before getting out of the fest got crazy. Fast forward to this year I listened to this song, like really listened to it and it hit me hard. And made me think about them at bonaroo and how close I was to seeing their performance and I just wish I had stayed to see it 😢

I have watched this at least 7 times now, and there is a big problem with this video ... it's being mimed. I am fairly certain that Stephan is actually singing live, but the drummer is definitely faking it and not playing what you are hearing. It's not a clipping or time delay issue with video, as Stephan's mouth and vocal are in lockstep with the performance you see. Brad is hell of a drummer, so I'm shocked that he went along with basically faking his part on stage. Also think the drums you hear are taken from the studio version of the song, or were prerecorded on a different kit than he is playing in this video ... as I know that this kit would be unable to make the huge you hear (even with triggers). Just watch the over head shots when they show him playing. He is a mile off the beat you here. Not trying to crap on the band, have been a fan for a long time, just wondering the reasoning for this
I kindly beg to differ sir. Watch closer at his sticks bouncing off the snare as he hits his ghost notes, and pay attention to his cymbal crashes. Looks like he has a remo black dot controlled sound on his snare which when combined with a lower tuning on a wooden snare can easily produce such a sound. Lifelong drummer here and this man is definitely not playing to a pre-recorded drum track. Also I see no trigger on the rim of his snare drum, it looks like a moongel dampener pad.
