I usually skip conventions, but I watched this one, and I'm glad I did. The speeches were really inspiring. The music was great. I saw Stevie Wonder do "Higher Ground," for heaven's sake. Now, the Dems have to take this spirit and get everyone they know to register and vote! If we do, we'll celebrate our victory in Nov, and the world will celebrate with us.

This DNC convention felt like a 4 day long episode of The West Wing! I had to watch the series during the Trump COVID lockdown to remind me of what America is truly about and how there was respect between Democrats and Republicans. This week made me feel proud to be an American again.

I always cite the spread, i.e. the average of all the polls (many media outlets use this too). And right now on the most respected spread site - 538 - Kamala is ahead by an almost unprecedented 3.7 percentage points (significantly more than Biden and Hillary were at this stage). The second most popular spread site, RealClear, is criticised by many for including biased polls by Fox, Rasmussen and Harris. But even on that, she's currently 1.5 ahead. By the way, Rasmussen is Donnie's favourite poll and he frequently cites that one but even on that one the gap has massively closed; two weeks ago he was 15 points ahead and now his lead has closed to 3 points!

Arizona just passed a new GOP law SCOTUS allowed a portion. Our deployed military can't vote by mail now. You have to provide a passport or birth certificate to have them mail you a ballot. No provisions are made for those that serve abroad. It might be a law that bites them too but it is just nasty what they did to our service men and women.
