This is scary, When I think of my grandparents, I'm thankful to God they had no money but they believed in right and wrong had strong moral value and loved us with all their heart. I was truly blessed and will always remember them.

That's wonderful. I had the best grandmother, and a wonderful father who worked 2 jobs all his life. My Mother on the other hand was a pathological liar. She wanted no kids & if she did she wanted no females. So to me she was brutal & hateful & sought to destroy. To my brother nothing was enough & he ended up not caring about her or anyone else. So she destroyed both kids in different ways. At 27 I discovered I had brain damage, that's what happens when a woman is forced to have an unwanted child. You were truly blessed. God bless you & yours.🌹

My sister was the discarded child. I was the pampered child. Every child can have a different experience of the same narcissistic parent. Often they’re turned against each other because their stories are so different

I wonder how much this information shared by a very sincere niece helped for the defeat of her uncle. Even if a little, it certainly was an important exposé. She was brave to do this close to the 2020 US election as she knew her uncle would try to destroy her. But then she is a strong woman and the information was more important then her future. I am very proud of her. Stephanopoulos asked the correct questions and allowed her to speak with few if any interruptions. Excellent interviews!

An analogy that Fred Jr. heard from his father one way or another for most of his life. Many think and I agree the eldest refused to be what and who the Father wanted. Such a refusal to Trump Sr was treason. Fred Jr was not the sort whoever that is, who could shake off Sr.'s continuous mockery, rejection. Its not true that family members are never implicated or bear no responsibility in the evolution of suicidal ideation and action in a 1st degree (family of origin) relative. Of course the "killer" parent is a disturbed person whose spouse is unable to object or in any way serve as a reliable boundary between children and malevolent spouse. Divorce rarely works as a solution for these families so long as the crazy parent retains legal and/or custodial rights to the children.

When the $1200.00 dispersements went out to individividuals recently the dems made sure the bill passed only if they got money to organizations that had nothing to do with covid. They are communists, criminals. You don't see what's going on around us. If the left does something it is ok but a person on the right gets the ax. Example, the couple who protected their home by arming themselves when the protesters caused them to fear. They did not do anything illegal. The kids weren't allowed to show any emotion, his father was cruel and encouraged cruelty because all he was interested in was money and power.
The oldest son, Fred Jr was treated so badly he ended up dying of alcoholism.
Trump was abandoned by his mother, abused by a sociopathic father.

    • @wecanonlywish9194
      @wecanonlywish9194 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Think deeply on her statement..
Her father's sad state of alcoholism and death, was INDEED saddening. But it was not of his family's doing. We may be of different opinion, but
      her story lacks disclosure.
Admittedly, she herself did not have a good relationship with her father. The question rose up within me that maybe we all should ask..
Why did her own MOTHER, not even call her? Why was she not even close enough to have known he was there, herself??
What's missing is WHY the whole family turned away from Mary.
As discussed, Mary is still bitter that SHE didn't get more money out of the settlement. (But she was assured, that her book would compensate for that)
Bitter, is a descriptive term of her demeanor. It really is her vengeful shot, at trying to get back at the family.
(She and her publishers orchestrated the timing, and the weight of her name being on the cover, to maximize sales).
The family estrangement of Mary, was due to her blatant lesbianism. She carries herself in a non-effeminent manner.
Just as the Trump's are INDEED dysfunctional..it is my opinion that Mary, is as well.
In denial, with her clinical degree on her chest.. she claims that she is the only one that knows the inside story of the family. Yet, even her brother turned his back on her lifestyle, and her biased and skewed testimony.
Rest assured.. I am NOT a fan of Donald Trump. He is so full of himself. BUT this interview is about family. We ALL have closets...
But, I can see a wolf in sheep's clothing..and how darkness beats darkness.
      This writer is exactly that.

@@laurenharewood1446 Well, to finish this banter..
      Your statements, are incorrect.
MARY called her Mother, (NOT the other way around) after talking with her grandfather.
(Her Dad had been living in her grandad's attic, before he died)
Her mother THEN told her he had passed away 2 hours previous. (Her mother had divorced her Dad many years earlier). Mary was SIXTEEN at the time of her death.
Her father did indeed, pass away..and alone, as she quotes. But her relationship with him, was strained to say the least.
But, Donald was AT the movies, when he received word his brother had died..not going to a movie afterwords.
This book is just as much about Mary's nature, as it is her Uncle's narcissism. (I still can't believe he won).
It reads like a "tell all" supermarket tabloid. The book is riddled with ambiguity and bitterness. And frankly, I considered much of it as hyperbole.

@@Thetruthbetold60 Exactly ...Her and I have almost the same type of circumstances except minus the money. Me , it was my father the alcoholic and switch the two oldest around. My oldest brother was used against my second to the oldest as a way to cut him down by my alcoholic father. You will never be like your older brother. Why can't you be like your older brother .All because my oldest brother was athletic and my other brother just really wasn't that into it but was still very very good at soccer which was huge but my father , even though a career man at that time 25 years in at Con ED and a Vet, was still an alcoholic which was way more important then his five kids and a sick wife. Which in turn even though my mother tried and tried to undo those hurtful words , he began to drink at a young age (second oldest brother) and it drew a huge wedge between him and my oldest brother just because my oldest brother couldn't believe he would drink after seeing how it ruined our family.
. I want to say right after my mother passed away. I was 10 so my brother was like 5 years older then me. I was the youngest of 5. He was second to the oldest. She was his rock. Thank God she had already left him when I was 5. So there was some healing time for him and for her to undo some of the damage but when she died it just broke all hope I think for him and he couldn't get those words out of his head I guess
. But he did end up doing drugs, getting in trouble over and over again and kept getting the same judge. We were just about to do an intervention when he got picked up again.
She saw something in him and told him that's it. Rehab or prison. He chose rehab and became a counselor for 28 years. But I can tell this story with no problem. I also went to therapy in my early 20's for something I thought was not related to my father at all. But come to find out it was all related to my up bringing , what I saw in regards to how my father treated my mother when he was drunk, how he never spent a dime or came back around after my mothers death, how he treated my brother etc. Did for a month and then one day he just never came back to my Nana's house and it was all she could do to give him a chance to be with us and be under her roof after the way he treated her daughter but she did for us but just never came back one day.MY POINT :
Mary states it's a hard story to tell but yet she also said, " I am well beyond what happened with my family."
So which is Mary..its a hard story to tell or your just well beyond . If your beyond it and dealt with the pain its caused you, then telling it shouldn't be hard. Sorry it just shouldn't . I can tell my story over and over again. Its not hard its the fact and it sucked and we were dealt a shitty hand because of my fathers drinking and things could have been totally different but guess what they weren't. Not being mean but at least she didn't have a father all her life that was living and didn't ever not ever show his face after his wife , his kids mother died. She is angry. She revealed when George said her uncle regretted the pressure put on his brother regarding the business. Her response..first vindicating her uncle as being young but then the hammer ..."Well he should."....coming from a Dr. of Psychology. Really???
Umm well he does and has said it several times. WE all make mistakes, we all have regrets or wish we would have said and done things with loved ones that have passed. That is what forgiveness is for Mary.
But to say he should. Well which is it...he was conceding to this psychopath father that you have diagnosed but yet you say Well he should. She does that continually through out this entire interview. and other interviews but just out right lies. Contradicts herself. She is looking to place blame. For someone to be the reason her life was cut short of a mother and father. There's tons more of us and people who have had it worse. So what's her deal. She's angry is her deal and if she hasn't gone to a counselor her self she can try to be the hard ass, I had to be tuff and look at me I made it and I have no issues. SEE !!!
The hell you don't . I was tuff to and had to move on ..no mother no father but a loving wonderful grandmother but I was only 10 when my mother died. Not saying its easier but its hard because you just don't get it like the older kids do. You do but you don't. I was all tuff and got great grades everyone thought oh look at these kids they are so strong. They are just moving right along. Great town of loving people but were we really moving along. Has she really moved along...I don't think so. She looks very angry , hurt, and looking to find and place blame. Her father was put on a pedestal. Beloved, loving, wonderful man. I am sure he was but guess what no one is perfect. Neither was her father. Some might say was having a son and daughter not enough for him to stop drinking, I said that. You would think it would be.
George said when she said he was sick , George the Alcohol. well yes but that led to other illnesses..shunning away the alcohol was his illness regardless of what she wants it to be it was the alcohol that caused his death. Which granted he probably did start drinking due his father but my brother did the same but he said eventually he had to realize blaming my father wasn't making him any less of a drunk hiding behind bottle. I am sure there were many times his brothers tried to reason with him to get help. The whole family just didn't stand by while he drank himself into Oblivia . I doubt that very much. Friends, his wife no one tried to help him get help...ummm that would be a first of no one ever having someone reach out and say hey you need help especially the atmosphere he grew up in . His drinking days started getting bad long before she and her brother were ever a thought. She does not know the whole story or is only sharing what was great about her father and his drinking was everyone else fault.

Really? In 2015 I heard a radio talk show host and his callers rant and rave about how much they hated DT. One night, a caller challenged the host to only allow callers on air who had somerhing positive to say about DT. The result was so astounding that the radio host continued it the next night. After many of the comments the host himself said, "That's true! I remember when that happened!" All positive comments had to do with DT helping others or a group of underprivileged people in NYC. By the end of the two nights, the radio host changed his view of DT and so did I. When he did those good deeds he was not running for anything and he has never mentioned them during his campaign. Much of what we hear him say today is reactionary. And MT has latched onto that to sell her book. What does she do when no one is watching.

@@jacquelinehuggins6021 that’s not what I was commenting on in this particular post, but since you brought it up - everyone on this planet has their light side and their dark side Jacqueline. That would include Donald and Mary. And you and me for that matter. But the man in question ran for President of the US and while everything he did would not fall under ‘dark’, he did manage to be the most divisive and polarizing individual to hold that office in your entire history. Flawed individuals, no matter who they are or where they’ve come from, are entitled to their rights and their own opinions but they are not entitled to impose their weakness of character in general on that office - at least not for more than four years. The people have spoken and now it’s up to him to get a grip on reality and realize he had his little ‘ruler spree’ and it’s time to go back to what he does when he’s not single handedly taking down a nation.

@@maryjane9152 I wouldn’t call Jacqueline a ‘terrible’ person for expressing her opinion here Mary. So many of us are on red alert with our emotions when this subject comes up and we tend to state things in stronger terms than are often called for. I hope you can see the divisiveness here in everyone taking such a hardcore stance and not giving an inch. We all need to take a deep breath, realize that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we enjoy the freedom (at the moment) to express that openly. Debate when done constructively is healthy and hopefully leads all involved to a better understanding. I do agree that Mary has probably gone through hell in that family, both pre and post book publishing. She was indeed brave to speak her mind about such a crucial matter.

@@maryjane9152 Don't worry about what I said, Mary Jane. The British interviewers as nice and diplomatic as they were to MT saw through everything when they made two comments. One British interviewer calmly responded, "Of course we're only hearing one side of the story," to which MT, although caught off guard agreed. Another asked her at the end of the interview, "Can you tell us one positive thing about your uncle?" Again, caught off guard, she replied that she couldn't think of one thing. I don't sense her crying at all because that would be a good thing, a break through. When Hillary Clinton was asked the same question about DT at the end of their fiery debate, she praised DT for how well he raised his children. HC's response said more about her healthy state of mind than it did about DT. If MT is truly a psychologist, she would know that this is a common yet important question a doctor would ask a patient in therapy who is embroiled in their own ruminating hatred toward another. Psychiatrists often give that as an assignment to their patients for their next session. 'Find something positive to say about him/her between now and our next session." Something positive could be said about the worse among us if we allow ourselves a moment away from our hatred. It's an excellent way to end a difficult discussion on a more positive note so that healing can begin. But when a person refuses or doesn't want there to be anything positive said about the object of their wrath, that says more about the condition of their own mental state. When no one is looking, I think MT is writing down well thought out and measured responses to those questions so that she won't be caught off guard by them again. That's what I meant. No one is saying anything bad about MT. We are only saying that there are two sides to every story. Correction, there are three sides to every story: your's, mine, and the truth.

I married into malignant narcissistic family without realizing it until after we had married. My husband is not a narcissist but his father is. I was with my now husband for 7 years before I married him and I did not realize the extent to which he was protecting me from his toxic family until I became a member of it. I love my husband and it is so hard to watch how his father has everyone but me under his thumb and I hate that I have to choose between staying with my husband out of love or leaving to salvage my own sanity.
