- The Tacoma is a truck icon from Toyota and 2024 it was redesigned. On the outside of the limited trim you will find a silver grill, 18in chrome wheels, automatic running boards and power tailgate. On the inside you will be greeted by a full soft-tex interior, sunroof and digital gauge cluster. Under the hood is a 2.4L turbocharged inline-4 paired with a hybrid system, and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Sorry Joe, they are a sales catastrophe. I believe that the turbos and cheap Mexican labor will be the downfall of Toyota Tacoma. I guess no one wants to buy a $33,000 vehicle for 65,000 how crazy is that?

This is a strange thing to say. Toyota has sold about 70k Tacomas this year so far. That's few thousand short of Colorado/Canyon/Ranger sales combined YTD.
I'm a die-hard Toyota fan, but they need to start adding an asterisk next to the most reliable brand right now..
That is a good point based off of recent happenings.
Only new Toyota I’d buy right now is their sedans. The Camry is still a basic non turbo engine with a hybrid.
I would go for Ranger Raptor for that price.

Love the Tacoma but I'd rather have rear air vents than wood finishes. I mean, this is the top trim.
I'm biased on the wood trim, but agreed rear air vents especially on the top trim is a ZONK

It’s one of the main things I look for when shopping now. Having kids and no rear vents is not a good combo. My base model f150 crew cab was $10k cheaper than this and it has a v8 and rear vents. Larger, more capable, but less bells and whistles. Less crap to break IMO.
As a long Toyota fan… I’m disappointed and would go for the Nissan Frontier pro 4x or Ranger Raptor

I like the last gen more as far as exterior looks. The inside on this is much better though. Also just too $$$ I'll take a canyon over it

The quality sucks, the price for the 2024 Tacoma Limited i-FORCE MAX is over $57K and there is still no ventilation for the rear seat and no armrests. Production in Mexico, where an employee earns $2.75 per hour of work and after the Tundra accident, i.e. 250,000 trucks have engines that need to be replaced, I will thank you for an engine so complicated and troubled. TOYOTA is ending!

Don’t worry, the sun will rise tomorrow😂 and it’s not like all other makes aren’t recalling the shit out of a lot of vehicles they make right now. I think Toyota has earned the benefit of the doubt if there is an auto make, that will get the bugs worked out it would be Toyota now American brands on the other hand, they put a lot of stupid gadgets and gimmicks in there to get you to buy them but they’re just throwaway trucks hopefully Toyota isn’t going down that road.

NA V6 has as much power as an e-bike. The new Turbo4 has more power than our GX460 V8! 😮❤

Can you list the payload from the door jamb instead of listing the max? I don't think the Platinum with hybrid has max payload.
Hold off for next year and it will be a 2 cylinder quad turbo for $100k

I had 2005 and a 2016 Tacoma. After I saw the new Tacoma, I decided to get a 2024 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition. I got it for 2k under msrp. I dont go off road, so it is the perfect truck for me.

845 Tacomas had issues with their V6's, I won't take that chance.
Looks sharp in black. That said, I don't think Roman, Tommy, or Andre at TFL are big on Toyota right now. They've uncovered some durability problems with the transmission and 4WD differentials. I've also heard about issues with the Tundra turbo V6. Probably affects the V6 Tacos also.

@@RaitisRides Should be priced around $49K - $52k depending on options. The Ranger Raptor & Colorado Zr2 MSRP for around this & they are way more capable than the Limited trim. Ranger & Colorado are built here too. Love the Channel Joe & thanks for the review brotha!

I have the TRD sport and love it definitely no turbo lag and only complaint is gas mileage but no truck gets decent gas mileage and I love the underground color

Counted over 7 blank buttons on the dash/center console on a TOP TRIM.....meaning you need to buy a TRD PRO to not have any blank buttons.
It is kind of crazy that is has that many! Good eyes on that!
not sure I'd call this the "top trim" ... its the 'old man' trim with all its chrome.

Good to see they are finally embracing the Hybrid power train BUT ...
Toyota engineers screwed up BIG time. With only ONE more MPG in the Hybrid, what the heck were they thinking?
HYBRID is for better Fuel Economy not Power output!
The tacoma hybrid should get over 30 MPG Easily combined driving. Similar sized SUVs can get 36 MPG with smaller turbo hybrid engine set ups. And those SUVs have beast modes (sport) that has all the power and acceleration you need .
So they totally set this system up wrong, so it has no real advantage.
Plus they are still using NMh battery instead of lithium, and stick the huge battery under the rear seat, using up all the interior cab storage. That battery needs to be UNDER the truck between the frame rails out of the way .
That and get the price back into the 40k range, or you can keep this thing Toyota!

The tundra is recalled. The Tacoma isn’t, yet.
@@angelgjr1999 Tundra had issues for years... 2022-2023 they finally recalled... They will not recall 2024 because money is too important. They cannot legally sell brand new vehicles in the US if there is an open recall on it.. They didn't add 2024 because they'd have to stop selling them. They'll recall those in another year or two, and maybe by 2026 it'll be a decent extremely overpriced truck. To think the Tacoma won't have the same problems, when people are already complaining about failing transmissions and such, and Toyota leadership change and market strategy changes and their massive debt.... Toyota isn't who they used to be, don't be fooled.

the "reliability" you mention is in serious question over many issues being discussed, and looking at the horrible reliability that is the "new" Tundra... Toyota isn't the company it used to be.. I wouldn't touch this thing for free... I'd sell it off and buy a Frontier.

$57k for a 4 cylinder turbo truck is criminal. Dealers are smoking crack to think people want to pay that much for something that not even fully loaded. More tech means more to fail. Dealers should be ashamed of themselves for charging this much. Don’t know how dealers sleep at night 😡

I've bought nothing but toyotas for 30 plus years but the problems with these and the tundras along with the ridiculous prices keeps me far away from these. The 4 cylinder tacomas used to be the cheapest model on the lot. Now the most expensive, Toyota needs to wake up.

Best midsize truck ever built? Tacomas across the country aren't selling and having problems that are hurting Toyota's legendary reliability reputation. What's more is that this particular one is the worst configuration possible: 4 doors & tiny bed.
Wish front bench seats where an option. I don't like it with a 4 banger. V6 would be better.

Would rather have the GMC Denali. Better all around imo. Definitely the interior. 2 inch lift. Wide track. Starts about 5k cheaper.

Not sure I'd trust anything with a turbo, except a diesel. Turbos are like steroids. Short-term gain. Compromised hardware longevity.

Any 4 popper can be paired with a stupid E-Motor and get the HP figures, the real part is reliability, affordability, longevity. Which none of the E garbage has.
