Im a veteran of 22yrs service i approached the RBL for some help when falling on hard times.i was basically told to go away now back on my feet through no help from them.i would never give the RBL a donation or my time.they rarely help any veterans.

I have read positive things about them.
It’s not unusual they treated me the same when I left and the local council let my family homeless for 2 years because all housing was going to migrants I just wanted some help got nothing I can’t believe they gone down this road it saddens me no end

The reason the poppy is red is because that is the colour poppy that grew in the Flanders fields after the soil was made fertile for them by the blood and bone of the dead soldiers. It’s very poignant.
I sincerely hope, that all these people who say they wont buy a poppy again, keep to their word,,, this has become a scam,, the money is not going to where it should be, a freedom of information should be issued to where the vast amount of the money goes
Royal British Legion, like many other charities, should stop all this rubbish. How can they ask the public for donations when they have grossly overpaid people employed by them?
What a waste of money. Charities should have the minimum amount of paid staff and certainly not anything to do with the alphabet group specifically. I have tried to apply for help from then when I was in need and after going through lots of hoops I was refused. Maybe rightly so but after hearing this it’s monstrous that they are not doing their job of helping veterans in need.
