Again, i ask what does "strictly enforcing regulations" actually mean in a practical sense? Does that mean an overly aggressive attitude against foreigners due to bad behavior?

Love your passion and perspective. Don’t bring crime from other countries to Thailand. Respect the country or don’t come. Simple.

Really sucks for those of us who have not, and never would not break laws, be disrespectful to Thais or Thai authority, to now feel like we're less welcome here and are experiencing the backlash at immigration. There a lot of incidents in the last few months I've been made aware of, in addition to my own incident.

No it means, let’s stop cutting “the slack” that many foreigners have been given in the past, because they are starting to see it as a sign of weakness, and have started to instead of “pushing the boundaries” have started to think we have next to no laws/rules here, people have started to treat the flexibility in the law/laws as a weakness and it looks like people are about to find out that if you push your luck too far there are consequences, plain and simple

Well, give the Thai govt recognition where it is deserved. Unlike the US, government officials want and respect order.

Yes most of the Thai police are quite good.
The majority of Foreigners are quite good.
The ones that are not should put some effort to endeavor to be better ambassadors for their countries.

Another great example of foreigners behaving badly. keis one decided to sneak into a secure parking lot where he was not legally supposed to be because he wanted to film luxury cars. In doing so he has announced to every car thief around how easy it is to bypass security. So the owners of the cars who think they are paying for a safe place to park are now not. When their cars get stolen they can thank him. But hey - he needed content.

How can you go to another country and break the law? Like how? I could understand say a drunken brawl from time to time but I mean..seriously.. If you’re not on your best behavior..don’t go.

Unfortunately growing numbers of people in the West face little to no consequences at home. Then they come to Thailand or visit other countries and more and more are behaving poorly. I just hope it doesn't become super difficult for those of us that behave civilized. But we shall see. Thailand claims to want retirees and civilized people. But governments, all over the world, have a tendency to over react and make broad generalizations. Most people come to Thailand with no issues. Still for every incident being reported how many hundreds of thousands if not millions of interactions were positive. We tend to hear about the bad ones and not the good ones.

I think that those of us that know how to behave won’t face any problems here, hopefully it’s those few that don’t will need to worry 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Stuff's gonna happen no matter what. Those of us who respect the law don't need a lecture. I'm sorry but that's what it sounds like.

Lawyers are not involved with people who do not break the laws. But every time a lawyer gives professional advice and opinions those listening take tantrums and accuse them of spreading lies, lecturing, talking nonsense.

Ben, your passion for your chosen residency is obvious. Your last dozen vids, in my opinion, display a frustration with the dynamics on display, vis a vis the political climate currently. After six years in all parts of the kingdom. I have witnessed the change and the kingdom is moving in the wrong direction. Think for a moment about the deterioting economic conditions and the plight of ordinary thais. How have they faired by having to blindly follow the dictats of supranational bodies during a fake pandemic and qui bono from such autocratic decision making? And the fear mongering continues. However it was not the thai institutions which have led to this malais. Its those dirty farangs. Really!! Marxist 101, scapegoat anyone else as the culprit of the declining quality of life for the average thai. Add to this a non democratic election and i believe that the military rule will become more evident as time passes. IMO, this is your true frustration, a future of powerlessness by the plebs by dictat. (Weed anyone?) Personally, with multiple passpots, the grass is looking greener elsewhere and all should consider being where they are treated best. Question: why did the Japanese not mandate masks or lockdowns? Their government admitted they didnt have the authority to do so.
