You get a chance to install your redhead yet,? If so did it help things out? I just got one today for my 03 ram 2500 that wanders worse than a broke hooker with brand new heels
@hey_youtube Im_back I did, and it made a huge difference for me. In my case, the gear box was so worn that the steering lagged and was unresponsive to small adjustments so I was all over the place just trying to keep it straight. That being said, I do still have some wander and I have to make small adjustments just to keep it straight but compared to how it was before its still a thousand times better. I did order the Synergy gear box brace and EMF shaft bushings too which should take up any slop left so soon as they come in and I get those on I'll let you know if they make any difference. I've already upgraded to the Synergy steering linkage and I'm running dual fox stabilizers so my steering is fixing to be as good as it can get for an 05 on 37s.
Very hopeful information, although if I may, I’d love to see the torque specifications for every component that was reinstalled somewhere in the video, description or comments.

For some reason I think someone messed with my truck before I bought it and it’s missing the lock washer between the pitman arm. What size is that locking washer?
Hey Guys, I have a 2017 Ram 3500. Leveled on 35s. I’ve been chasing an issue with the steering, where the steering wheel is constantly fighting me. For example, when I back out of my driveway, and turn the steering wheel, it jerks back towards center like someone is turning the wheels in the opposite direction. I’ve already installed Carli high and low mount steering stabilizers, no help. Synergy steering brace, no help, Carli track bar, no help. Does this sound like a steering box issue potentially? 90k miles on my truck. Thx
Yes, very often. For the tie-rod and drag-link, 03-08.5 Ram's came with "Y-Style" steering. Why Ram would put that on a solid axle truck, I have no idea. Anyhow in 2009 they started putting "T-Style" steering on their trucks. The "Y-Style" was so problematic that they started retrofitting the "T-Style" at the dealerships when they would come in. Companies like Synergy Manufacturing have taken it a step further and created an upgraded "T-Style" steering kit that will work as far back as 1994 on the Rams. The steering box is not as big of an issue as the tie-rod and drag-link. It can often be remedied with a steering box brace. However, if the stock "4-bolt" box is in fact worn out, it is fairly common to put in the later style "6-bolt" box. Either way, I would make sure to put a steering box brace on the truck. While you are looking for something in the 04.5-07 range, many of the things we talk about still apply. It is a BIG part of reducing play on the front end of your truck. However, just one of many pieces. Ball Joints, Track bar, Control Arms, Unit Bearings, Tie-Rod & Drag-Link, Shocks, even sway bar and sway bar end links ALL need to be working well, and in good shape. Not to mention proper alignment. Funny everybody makes a huge deal about the common sense stuff like direction of the pitman arm as if there’s any other place to put it. But for some reason NOBODY mentions what a bitch the steering shaft is to get back on or tips on how to do it.

Just replaced my box with the Redhead for my 2007 ram 6.7 Cummins diesel. Works like new steering. Pitman arm removal was a bear!
Got to love the Schaeffer’s! Why didn’t you torque the steering box stabilizer pitman nut?
We put this one at 185 ft/lb. Double checked after a test drive, and gave it a little extra. -Ben

I have 07 with 35s and 6 inch lift will this box help with steering play? What other upgrades would help? Ball joints?
