David Mullich should really someday join up with some of the modders and create a new heroes-like game. Ubisoft is certainly not doing anything great with the IP.

what about Song of Conquest?
I was about seven when I first played HoMM III. It was like a new world had opened itself to me. Whenever I would take a walk in the forest, I'd imagine wood elves, unicorns and centaurs hiding behind the trees. Whenever I visited the snowy hill tops, I imagined great blue capped towers looking over the lands, with gargoyes flying about and magi practicing wizardry. Now, almost 20 years later, I still play it time to time, even after having finished all the campaigns at the highest difficulty. I love introducing it to friends, and never have they been disappointed. It is a true masterpiece, that will go on living for as long as I do, and hopefully, most likely, ages after that. Thank you, all who made it a reality.

Italian player here, I started playing in 1999 because of a friend of my father. They used to play chess and strategy games and one day he comes with this CD of a new game. I remember being behind the screen with my family trying to understand how to play. It was love from the beginning bc it's an instant classic: the music is amazing, the creatures are perfectly designed and it's clever. It felt like a virtual and realistic version of Magic the gathering, which I loved, but couldn't really appreciate. Heroes III should be way more popular, yet the community around this game is amazing.

I have Heroes collectors edition on my shelf, all games in a big beautiful box and I'm waiting for my all in edition of Heroes 3 board game... and played the game again today. Horn of the Abyss and Heroes HD mod are amazing!
I bought Heroes 3 many times over the years, starting with the base game then complete edition, then various bundles and digital versions, I even had all the chronicles. I wish I'd kept my originals but moved country and left a lot behind.
I've also gone all in on the board game, but have it sat in its box at the moment. Have you played yet? How did you find it? I was always a Gunnar main so wanted to try and homebrew him in.

Love heroes 3. My first experience with the game was when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I remember seeing my friend play it on his computer. I described it to my dad as some kind of space game, since the fog of war kind of looks like stars. Anyways I got the game not long after and I've been playing it since. Me and a couple IRL buddies still game sometimes on it. Long live the online community!

I really love the Heroes Chronicles (which is Heroes 3 essentially).
The story of Tarnum led me to Heroes 4 and it is my favorite game, though I do cherish them all.
Argentinian fan here, been playing since the demo with the "Dead and Buried" map. It was love at first sight, and it is super strong to this day.
I have been playing hotseat multiplayer with my brother in this game for over 20 years. Heroes of Might & Magic 3 is truly one of a kind!
I played this game at 6 years old on my dad's pc, I still love it and it's community to this day, and I'm American, it takes a lot of effort to keep my attention, if that doesn't speak volumes about how beautiful and replayable it is.

Awesome interview, I remember playing it first as a demo from a pc magazine which featured one of the scenario "dead and buried" it was wa too hard for me as a kid at first but I got it eventually with my parents in a big media store I was happy the game run on our pc so flawlessly. I still enjoy it until today! The soundtrack and overall design is in my opinion unsurpassed in the series.

Please David get with the Modders and give us a true update that we can pay for nothing nuts but 10 bucks or something so they and you can make some money and we get a sick update

I bought this game so many times over the years, a true gem!
First time played at my uncles house in 2005 I was 6 till this day I’m playing that game and it never stops being. Fun thanks to HotA

2:19 Heroes 3 był wymagającą grą w 1999 roku. 2-letni komputer nie dawał rady a i ten był nadal bardzo drogi w Polsce. Ludzie wtedy musieli grać w HOMM1 albo HOMM2.

W tamtych czasach gier nie kupowało się w sklepach, ani nawet nie ściągało z netu, tylko kupowało się je od ruskich na bazarze, na wypalonych płytach cd podpisanych flamasterem xD
HOMM2 for me. Mostly 'cause I really have an allergy to HOMM3 unit graphics and animation.
You have no idea how much you're losing. I was same, played H2 for years, in competitions and all, then when H3 came out I was shocked and skeptical about changes, be it graphical or technical. But if you put a little effort in it, it is SOOO much superior to H2, while keeping the spirit and all.
I think its just new games fail to capture the same magic and originality the older ones had. Graphics are not everything, and realizing that you know HOMM 3 gameplay is nearly perfect
heroes 3 will conquer western europe as well.
