Such a lovely variation on this wonderful song... They take the generally "minor chord" tonality of the original, and bring it far forward, with that Klezmery overlay. Although written in 1984, Dance Me to the Edge of Love sounds like a deep old classic.
Obviously you missed the discussion at the front, or you would have made the connection between the musical style and the inspiration, the deaths of millions of east European Jews in the Holocaust. You might also have caught the part where they said Cohen heard their version and was ok with it. Personally, I would not have paid attention to the original
