  • From The Mark Steyn Show, Mark welcomes the Klezmer Conservatory Band to the Steyn stage for a haunting version of his favorite Leonard Cohen song. And stay tuned for a bonus performance - a raucous romp through Irving Fields' "Miami Beach Rhumba".
Also on this weekend's Mark Steyn Show: a celluloid Mount Rushmore of memorable movie presidents, plus bestselling novelist Andrew Klavan on the intersection of culture, religion and politics.

I love this woman's voice, all the instruments, this song is done so beautifully here that I find myself coming back to it again and again if just to touch the very soul of longing and sorrow.

Excellent! Cheers for Mark and cheers for the KCB! My group, Golfstrom, will be playing this song, in a similar, Eastern European Russian/Gypsy/Klezmer style at Cafe Lena in Saratoga Springs on Feb 10. Thanks! Have been listening to you seems like forever...

Such a lovely variation on this wonderful song... They take the generally "minor chord" tonality of the original, and bring it far forward, with that Klezmery overlay. Although written in 1984, Dance Me to the Edge of Love sounds like a deep old classic.

It does sound much older! I was surprised that it's so new.

The band sings well. Perhapes it is injustice to Leonard Cohen (May he rest in peace). They missed the the pain late Cohen felt.
