What can be more beautiful than the wonderful music of Leonard Cohen and the incredible voice of Cantor Adi Schwartz?!!! This reaches my soul. Thank you to everyone involved in making this.
A fitting tribute to one of the greatest - who happened to be Jewish. Was trepidation before opening but you sang it beautifully and the pictures of the great Leonard. Cohen were inserted tastefully. Alice in Tel Aviv. Whoever read this. - stay safe
Now exactly 5 years since Leonard's passing. Hearing Cantor Schwartz's rendition was a beautiful and spiritual way for me to commemorate this day. Thank you.
Azi not only has a magnificent voice. He's amazing. His range is phenomenal. Oh yes, he's very easy on the eye too. I wish I was a member of his Synagogue!! 😍😍😍
Thank you for making this video. I'm trying to convert and I told my grandmother and she was a little weary about it. That was until I sang this Psalm in a mix of Hebrew and English since I'm still not fluent in Hebrew yet. She was moved to tears as she knew a little bit of Hebrew since she took a trip to Israel and could translate and it turns out that this was one of her favorite Psalms. She told me that could tell by my voice when I sang that I was genuine and determined about converting and she found that to be moving as I'm still so young. To explain I'm 19 going on 20. But still thank you because now my family knows I'm serious about converting and that it isn't just a Faze in going through.
You are a wonderful singer. Thank you for putting these songs in a public place where many can hear them. I first you lead the congregation in Adon Olam to Born in the USA and it was super moving. I have loved Leonard Cohen for decades and got to see him perform in his last tour, as well as in Jerusalem decades before. Bravo!
As a very lightly observant jew, Azi you touch me in a "Jewish" way that I never thought was possible. My eyes fill with tears every time I hear you sing. Thank you for bringing that out in me! Love you!
Memories every time I hear this song it reminds me of what he meant to the community and the world. If each person who listens would do something for humanity, even if it is just a small prayer for those people who just need a little help.
What a beautiful performance of the pianist and bel canto voice penetrating our hearts as God wants us to understand. Azi I adore you. Do not stop teaching us to love and cry.
@@mas2988 Not really. It's not really being Jewish at all as it's Christianity which has just a mantra ( kind of like Islam in that way ) and is a political party with a desire for power ( at least in the United States). Spectacular! This shiksa is hearing the Hebrew version for the 1st time. I was looking for the Mourner's Kaddish as my husband and I discuss funeral planning. Azi's interpretation is breathtaking
Beautiful, just beautiful. Brings to memory an interview on npr by Terri gross, where Mr. Cohen remarks that he feels that his work doesn't feel remarkable...how humble...I think that some of his songs will be part of standard synagoge hymns in year's to come. Can't help been on a high holiday service when you hear Who by fire... Thank you for posting and to the singer for singing so beautifully and in such a heartfelt manner.
To me as well, this song, this psalm, this melody is so wonderful. Being a Christian, I'm thankful towards our Jewish brothers and sisters for the heritage they keep and still today make it come alive to feel it deeply and movingly.
