As promised, after the last lesson (Rainbow in the Dark), I decided to do a much easier solo for you. Great White lead guitar player, Mark Kendall, was definitely a child of '60s/'70s rock influences (never considered a "shredder" like many of his popular peers in the '80s), and you could hear those influences in his predominantly pentatonic based guitar solos. 😎🎸
Mark Kendall is one of my favorite guitarists of the era. I got a chance to hang out with him in '84 after GW opened for Judas Priest. Great lesson thanks 🤘🎸👍
Once again a great video! Kids you got it made with this guy showing you this music, old dudes like me would have loved to have this type of instruction when we were kids, we love it now. .THANK YOU MR.GUITAR FREAK!
Hey Dave, thanks again!!! I sometimes wonder what my guitar progress would have been like had this stuff existed when I was a teen in the '80s. So much stuff for free now, it's wild. :)
Mate, I can't thank you enough for this great lesson! I love this solo! This is the best youtube channel on the internet and you're the best guitar teacher ever :)
@@PDXguitarfreak that bend + vibrato at the fourth fret on the third string (first part of the solo) is not that easy, I am getting a callus on my ring finger :)
Short but sweet. Great tune. 👍 I still have the cassette tape. Classic. I'l never forget years ago they were doing a gig in a small venue in Rhode Island N.Y. with pyrotechnics. They ended up burning the place down along with that people got hurt and died. Sad but true. Anyway ROCK ON 🎸
Yes, I remember that too ... unfortunately. That is one of those awful things that you can't unsee. Tragic moment in the bands career. But they were and still are a terrific band with a ton of great tunes.
Hey thanks bro, and yeah it was definitely the worst catastrophe in rock history. Very tragic and sad. Thank you for the kind words as usual, Sotirios!
Well done, I was teaching this song the other day and was looking for a gp file and came across this. You teach very well and break up the parts very well.
I've always loved Great White and felt that like XYZ they don't really get the recognition that they deserve. Move It has one of my all time favorite solos. It's fun to listen to and fun to play even if it isn't terribly difficult or complex.
I agree both are great bands. I always thought Great White were all about the songs, and didn't care about shredding guitars.... and many there were so many great songs!
Thanks Josh! I do have a lesson for Unchain the Night from Dokken.. and hopefullly will do more. I don't think I have any Crue lessons. Will have to think about that :)
Kendall is/was a genius, what a player....He should be way better known than he is. love Great white, shame about the unfortunate circumstances and wishing the rift between him and Jack would heal before its too late, love to see the boys back together. Best blues based rock band in history, they had it all.
Mark Kendall is terribly underrated as a lead guitarist. He always played really tasty leads. I love the Great White albums "Hooked" and "Psycho City", killer stuff.
Gotta get a Gibby Flying V again...love the 58 control layout... my Explorer and Les Paul are a little heavy on my work worn weary lower back lol as usual your lesson rocked 👤
Hey thanks TF! I love the classic V layout/design too. Only thing I would change on this one are the neck dimensions. Definitely baseball bat worthy, but then again that's how they were. :)
Hello I’m Johnny cool riff got to see them play back in the day ur cool sounds good .. ps I’ve way back tried playing little the intro to that song lol - been a while while . It’s 2.27 pm Sunday
🆘 HELP. PDX freak.. how do I send you a regular text on u tube or f.b. quick question.. Jordan Ziff plays this amazing run @8:20 mark of the Marty Friedman oct/2017 concert..if you get a chance to transcripe it.. That would be awesome 👍.. sincerely Alex
Hey Dave I just received this notification from your channel in my comments section you replied to. It says Whatsapp me with a phone number. It looks bogus to me. You may want to look into this. It's posing as your channel.

Oh yeah! Not many Great White lessons .. such a great band! Thanks.
You are welcome SP! :)
Awesome! Well done! Thank you for posting this. This is one of the best, most recognizable solos to come out of the 80s. Thanks, again!
You are welcome bro! :)
This is THE SONG that made me want to play guitar! I dabbled with the solo back in the day but never got it right...time to relearn it!

Love the V
Thanks! The neck is the old baseball bat size, and quite a handful. Might shave it down at some point, but not sure :)

Mark Kendall is definitely one underrated blueser from the 80s. Please do Desert Moon next!! Also, how about some Nobody Rides for Free from Ratt.
this is great! Mike
Great lesson as always! Is that figured top purple guitar on the wall with a Floyd (far right) a Freidman Noho 24? If so, how do you like it? Thanks!

This is awesome bro. Definitely easy till you get to the end solo then it’s not so easy
Lady Red Light would be a good one to do.
Great song! :)
Hey PDX how about the outro solo. Its sick.
Definitely.. Best part of the song... Hope he does it too
Excellent! Your vibrato is killer , mine sucks any tips on improving it?

Ever notice that playing something wrong is so much easier than playing right??
LOL well of course :) Is there a particular section of this solo that I can help you with?
