    Wash the truck using SOS pads, that will smooth the rest of the paint and it should help with blending the truck with the “new paint”

    • @RevStoration
      @RevStoration  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have scrubbed the truck and nothing else is coming off. I am going to hit it again once or twice before I clear it.. Probably will use the SOS at least once.

    • @TheBoredGeorgian
      @TheBoredGeorgian 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      RevStoration the SOS will be like sanding and knock down the high spots and rust build up you feel in the paint, atleast smooth enough when you clear over it that it won’t be nearly as rough. Love the work on Ole Pudding, can’t see what else you will restore later down the road after this project is “completed”

    I was starting to wonder when the SOS pad was going to make an appearance...
    One of my girlfriends came in right around the time you cut your finger and she said that you reminded her of the guy in the ER the entire nursing staff refers to as Rev. Stumpy... Every time he does a restoration project...he's there at least two or three times a week... This guy actually sliced off his middle toe with a sander...hence the nickname they gave him...
    She also told me of the one doctor that mentioned that over the past three years..."Stumpy" paid for college for his six kids ten times over...
    I wished they hadn't transferred her from pediatrics to the ER because her hours are longer and I tend to miss her a little more...

    Ok man, my advice. Find someone with welder and do it right. This looks good, but after few moths this will fall a part and the rest of fender will turn into rust again with bigger hole. If you want to keep patina, let hole as is. If you want repair it, so sand it down or ask someone with sandblaster, clean it to the bear metal and weld holes bit metal sheets. Than bando, primer and paint.

    • @RevStoration
      @RevStoration  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have all of that.. I mention that I did the repair on the cheap and we will see how long it last. I bet it will last way longer than a few months. I've seen cars held together with chicken fence and bondo. Is there a better way to do it.. yes.. but without a welder.. nope. I understand the comment and we will see how long this repair last.

      You're 100% wrong. Lived in Chicago until 80s. I repaired several dozens of cars with rot holes using fiberglass resin, cloth and screen. Cut the rot out and make the repair. I never had the repair fail. Because you can't do it doesn't mean it can't be done. My advice.
