@@AcademicPhoenixPlus Hi Monica... Here 2 years later and well in 3D modelling and design... Intimidating at first but you taught me from 0 which is really great... Appreciate it
Just in case people are looking for answers, Yes Maya did remove the Bifrost/Fluid tab. Yes, there is a different new way to do it in 2023 or newer. Hope Academic Phoenix updates the video, this is almost close to google top search.
I really love your tutorials! Simple, to the point, clear and easy to follow/understand in a really professional tone, even better than the tutorials Autodesk has. Looking forward to more!!😃
you are amazing and funny as a teacher and I love this all of my life I can't find that kind of tutor. we love you please don't stop uploading video on TH-cam your video help me lot thanks for every video
Hi Monica! Just letting you know that I watched this 1 year ago as a beginner and now I'm back since I've mastered modelling and I'm now venturing to Fx stuff! Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video. I was looking through water sim and found your channel. It's very informative and to the point (Maya 2023). Keep it up!
Hi Monica, I'm really pleased to have this tutorial. Bifrost has always been a mystery to me. Meanwhile, I would like to know.. what are your Maya settings for Working Units, Tolerance and GRID size. I kinda messed mine up. Thanks
Take a complicated shot from sky fi movies and explain the process to make it, including what equipment we really need, etc... Try to explain about the process from beginning to ending about virtual production. Thank you 😎
The emitting geometry wasn't resting in the mug, so when you hit play it's drops inside the mug causing a splash before the mug rotates. 😋 Overall awesome video, thanks Monica 😘
I can only assume that she normally would slowly animate the mug tilting, then slightly increase the speed and move the mug forward while the last trickle happens.
Thanks for the comment! I was touching more that even though the water splashes, it shouldn't have enough force to go through the mug/geo... 🤷 Lol, I have to play more with the settings, but settling the water more might solve the issue too. Thanks for the tip!
Once again, this is simply amazing and quite informative. Well explained. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your tutorials. You are one of the best online teacher. 😎
Nitpicking here... but should have placed pivot point inside of the cup. Though we grab the cup by handle, we still rotate it from that centre point. I ❤️ your tutorials by the way. You’re such a good teacher!!
Thank you for the comment! I was viewing the video for reference, and I thought the tilt was more in the handle, but I can see your point. :) I appreciate your support
Your tutorials are as beautiful as you. I'm hoping to become master just like u but each time I start with new project i just wonder what to do with default cube.😂
I have Maya 2023 and in FX there is no Bifrost to click on. There is Liquids and all is different than in this tutorial. I am new to this, and I can't find real beginner stuff. All I see is by someone who know what is doing to someone who knows too. I do not know that is why Tutorial should be for those like me - damn by default. Thanks
Hi, my liquid created on the origin and not around my emitter for some reason. Any idea why this might be happening? I've tried multiple new scenes and I'm still having the same issue
Hello, do you know why my bifrost didn't follow the shape of my container? I tried to make pouring an orange juice into the glass. However it didn't follow the shape of the orange juice drinking box, and just randomly dropped downwards. I was under impression that if I add the collision for the liquid and the box and the liquid and the glass, it will not go out of the model. But it does. Do you know why?
How about create a cylinder wall around the mug cup and turn it into kill plane and attach it onto mug cup to block some water coming out through the glass?
Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot. However, I still have a doubt. When you applied the bifrost liquid, the particle display tab (inside the attribute editor) is already complete. But when I went to follow your tutorial, the particle Component box on that same tab appears blank and without an option to edit. How can I make the option "particle" appear in the box? Would you be able to explain to me? Well, I couldn't find anything that talks about it. Apparently without this option selected the effect does not work.
As soon as I set the collider my liquid simulation points disappear. Nothing happens in the render. My liquid and container meshes are not intersecting. Any ideas what the issues might be?
Hi, quick question: when I select the geo i want the liquid to be it doesn't place the bifrost liquid "box" around it, it just goes to the center of my file. How can I fix this? thank you
i can't add colliders. It works with basic shapes but when i try to turn my jar into one, it doesn't work. Is it because i made it using Bezier curve tool, then revolve?
When I select the liquid and the mesh, (centered pivot, deleted history, and freeze transformations), to be the collider. As soon as I go into Bifrost and select Collider, The liquid and box drops to the bottom and stay there throughout the animation. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Monica, I recreated this tutorial but the water doesn't fill up the glass cup. it just disappears upon entering the cup. What am I doing wrong pls? Thanks
Do you know of a clear way to instance onto a bifrost fluid sim, for example a cube instanced on the bifrost points, so that the cube animates/follows the points for sequence?
hi cool video. how would you make the same simulation without the mug and by giving the fluid kinda a direction so it goes in the glass a bit like a water jet with little curvature ? idk if i'm clear sorry
I got this error when I try to render: // Error: [proc] /bifrostLiquid1/liquid1/liquidShape1: error in user init from , any idea what is it going on? thanks!!
Sorry for all the messages. Question: Getting all sorts of wacky results. Duplicated and symmetrical liquid formations, the glass collider allowing liquid to break through, etc. Any theories or comments? Tried again, a few weeks later. I started the sim somewhat from scratch, and got better results for some reason. But, the scene crashes A LOT. Getting a refined collision has been extremely difficult. Digital liquid still seeps through the glass at some points. I increased the voxel scale under collision, giving me a tighter collision, but then Maya decides to... disappear from my screen.
