Good stuff as always, one thing I always use cc repetile for is when you have a photo and it’s just not quite wide enough. Instead of cropping in sometimes you can just use repetile, use unfold mode and get an artificial expansion of the tops or sides. Isn’t applicable to every image but works great when it does.
Two things: 1. I love this series! 2. This is fantastic! I'm glad there's an alternate to repetile (that I didn't know about) as it's sometimes frustrating to use
Thank you so much for creating short tutorials about each particular effect. This is very helpful to understand them and actually gives us a basic idea of what the effect can do, Please keep making more videos like this.
Is there some kind of effect stack that you can do with these effects to add padding between the repetitions, without having to go into the precomp and adjust sizing ?
There seems to be no way to change the tile spacing distance like you can in illustrator/photoshop for example, which is frustrating, as I'd like to not have to set the distance between each instance prior to creating the tile effect.
Great Tutorial!! Just always have issues when I apply the effects to a text layer... Motion Tile makes the distance between the elements too big and CC RepeTIle too small. Anyone knows how to fix that?
Hi I really need your help. Im trying to learn a zoom transition effect but I cant figure it out. I have an example video of what im trying to achieve on my channel. th-cam.com/video/I03XKgtZzA4/w-d-xo.html& I know how to do the speed ramp and CC motion blur but their seems to be some kind of zoom effect I cant figure out how to do? I can see the corners look mirrored too for a moment how do i achieve that? . Thank you!
@JakeInMotion Hi I'm starting to learn AE now and I'm struggling as to - 1. how to increase/decrease the space between tiles 2.how to increase the speed of the movement of the tiles. Please, I would really appreciate the help!
If I want to make the asset edge to edge without any gaps, how would I achieve this? For instance: If I have a pre comp of an icon animation but I would like to tile it across the comp, without any thin gaps between, is there a way to manage that? Motion Tile, Repetile, etc?
It's really a case by case basis. The differences I show in the video may lead you to using one to achieve a specific result over the other. Hopefully my explanation and walkthrough will help you better choose which effect to use the next time you need to tile something.

For some reason my motion tile does not work, i cannot see copies, CC reptile works i don't know what is the problem :/
Same here
Maybe your layer is 3d
How do you change the spacing in between the images?
I get the same problem with all these effects... the black line/gap of doom... which the blend does not help. Meh

i have a problem, motion tile only works with video or images i cannot create a shape and apply motion tile

thank you jake you helped me a lot my pc was crashing when i use motion tiles but after using cc repetile it renders well 😃
Is there a way to have every 2nd object rotate 360 while every 1st object just stays still?
Whenever I use motion tiles it shows me black lines but sometimes it won't. Plssss help me to get rid of it 🥺
Great video! But why does CC Repetile has a "None" alternative?
At 1:00 is there a keyboard shorcut to go to one column to another because you type both of them so fast???
Yes! The tab key.
@@JakeInMotion ayeee,thank you
I don't understand stupid Ae, sometimes it works and sometimes it won't work
IS there a way to add delay (or stagger) to other secondary comps in mirror tile effect
Is there a way of reducing the spacing between the tiles?
Only by changing the size of the source. Precomposing the layer or changing the dimensions if it's already a precomp.

Adjust the layer to be fitted to the comp size without any extra empty pixels and then apply the motion tile
Cc Reptile!!🦎🦎🦎 Amazing series Jake!!!
Cc reptile with fractal noise…. Never tried it…
thanks
hey, i cant make more than 100 on the motion tile, can someone help me ?
I don't have motion tile, please help!

Thank you sooo much. I was wanting to make a twitch overlay like this but was struggling to find a tutorial going over it
👐
Great tutorial, been looking for this for 6 months or so !
You saved my life !!!!!
Thanks a lot dude .. ⚡
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.
Sitting here thinking how great it would have been had I seen this tutorial about a month ago!
Thanks for preparing those videos! Break down all effects one by one~ Really Helpful!
so cool, i dont have the brick option
Very nice thank you fro this!
Keem em coming! Thanks, Jake.
no tengo motion tile
Cool! I was looking for this!
Thank you
Thank you for all these series. Do you know which one is faster or puts less pressure on machine?
It's hard to tell. I feel like either one has started to make my machine chug depending on the project.
What's the school of thought on using Motion Tile over "repeaters" or vice versa?
Repeaters only work within shape layers. Motion tile works on any layer.
@@JakeInMotion Oh okay, I'm surprised but glad for the simple answer. Thanks!
Jake is Awesome🤩
Your videos are great
Can you pls explain motion tracking
Thanks! I have a whole course on Skillshare about that topic.
@@JakeInMotion okk, thanks bro 🥰
What would be the different applications where we should use one of these effects instead of the other?

@@JakeInMotion such a teacherly answer haha thank you again
