    A failed element is usually the culprit for my Kenmore HE5. But this time I found no break in the coil. Figured it had to be one of the two temp switch gimmicks , but decided to do a little research before I started buying unnecessary parts. And sure enough , TH-cam , and you fine Sir , saved the day ! Bent the mounting arms out of the way , so I could smack it flat on the floor , and after 4 hard smacks , BINGO BANGO BONGO I had continuity ! Slapped her back together , and we have HEAT ! My Wife now believes me to be a genius ! Thank you for making this video ! I’m off to attempt to capitalize on my Wife’s newly found good mood ! Wish me luck ! 😁

    Thanks Patriot Marine, I checked all the elements and sensors as per your instructions for my no heat dryer. Also cleaned out the lint screen, found $20 and change in there! Sensors and elements were good, put it all back together and the dryer works and I have a very happy wife now.

    I'll give this a try. At least I can do that ... This seems like a good elimination step before I start ripping the whole dryer apart ... I've never fixed a dryer before so ... wish me luck !!! LOL I have been having good luck by diving into DIY projects over the past few years. First step is not being afraid to fail. At least if I wreck it proper and have to buy a new machine anyway ... It was my own dang fault. I've ALWAYS viewed appliances like this as disposable so this is new territory for me. ( ... I THINK THIS WAS JUST THE FEAR IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD TALKING) This particular Kenmore I will be attempting to fix is just too new to justify garbaging ... so far ... LOL ...

    I ordered the parts kit for the thermal cut off fuse kit, following the link in your description to Amazon. The replacement part for the defective fuse (the same one identified in your very helpful video) is shaped different - it lacks the hook and looks different, but it fits. The writing on it says something like (the lettering is very small and indistinct) CQC KSD3011 250V 25A 352F. The original part has on it: 6274 352F 3977394 and the letters FSP. Is the replacement part OK to use?

    • @PatriotMarine

      Make sure you use: 'Make sure this fits' Model, Brand, for your specific dryer.

    • @sunny6ville
      @sunny6ville 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@PatriotMarine Using the 'make sure this fits' doesn't give me any results for my Kenmore model # 110.62992101 Hopefully the important portion of the number for the part is the 352F designation, which I assume means that's the temperature when it cuts off. I also assume that the various part numbers are different housings and attachments for the same type fuse.The dryer works now.
      With further research on Amazon, this link looks like the same part in my dryer, although I still don't see an exact match for the part number I have (www.amazon.com/AMI-PARTS-3977394-Replacement-Whirlpool/dp/B07RBSC4X2). My part is 3977394 and all the references I can find are for 3977393.
      I bought this dyer used from a used appliance dealer, so perhaps they replaced the original fuse once already with the 394 part that is no longer available or referenced..
      I want to thank you again for posting this video. Your directions were very clear and easy to follow. I couldn't have done this repair without it!
