Thank you so much for this! I had a regular pail that was cutting it, too smelly. So I went out and bought this munchkin pail yesterday not realising it would only take certain bags that you can't buy on the island I live on. Packages take weeks to get shipped here and that's NOT during a pandemic so you've really saved me!
Thank you for sharing this video. My Mom and I picked this diaper pale, for my brother’s baby nursery. Thanks to your helpful tip, he and his wife won’t have to spend money on special refills.
Omg, you're really creative. I'm going to tell my husband about this video so he can start getting ready for baby number two! For our first born we didn't invest in diaper pails and I really wish we would've.
We have 9 month old twins and this th-cam.com/users/postUgkxYuc_EnjOuhf-pwGOBpPyFbyL1CPnsiKX diaper bag is fab. It has a lot of room and the zippers seem like they can handle alot so far. We've taken it on a flight and fit everything they needed and even things I needed. The only thing I noticed was that I couldn't fit their baby water bottles in because I had so many nappies but really that's not a problem, just an observation. Overall super happy with this purchase.
I’m going to try this because Im out of bags but.. the orange rotator inside is designed to seal the bag. Which works with a trash bag as well.. but you need the elongated bags so there is less room for the build up of stinky air. There munchkin bags are also meant to make it to where there is less amount of bag in use but each time you fill it it releases more of the bag down( therefore less sticky air) i know what im trying ti say but it may not make sense here lol .. with a normal trash bag there will be a large amount of room for air. I will see how it works and it’s still a great idea when you have to work with what you have. Diaper genie has a knock off brand for bags but of course the munchkin does not.
Ive tried this hack... it works as to saving money and using the reg garbage bags BUTTTTTT... the diaper smell is 10x worst lingering around the area this can is at. I think thats the reason the refills are designed so narrow and tight. This is a fail then 👎
@@angelbrown5557 my thoughts exactly......watched a video of someone utilizing a black heavy duty trash bag, I mean, yea! it would work, but that would eventually start smelling lol.....not to mention the weight of that "load" lol...also - as another person mentioned, FLUSH the solids.....it won't smell as bad.
The main thing that makes the munchkin or genie work is that it twists the bag closed as you close the lid. That and some odor shielding in the bags (but you can get febreeze bags for *way* less than the rings cost), and you have all the "magic" of the diaper pail, which is all about the *closure of the bags* and not really about their "7 layer bags" that cost soooo much. The ultimate proof that munchkin is screwing you for the bag ring price is that you can get their precious 7 layer bags for like 4 bucks for a HUGE roll...but not for the munchkin, just to carry around with you when you're out.
@@araeshkigal i was thinking the same, but does this "hack" still allow the bags to be twisted? i watched one ladies video, and they didn't look twisted.....

By far one of the best TH-cam videos I've watched in a while. Very helpful with a 3 week old and the amount of diapers we're going through. Thank you!

The secret that Big Munchkin doesn't want you to know. Thanks dude

Thank you this is so helpful.
That seems really helpful thanks for sharing.
Seams creative but unfortunately for me I have no time or patience for that but cool
Can this be done with cloth diapers bag?

You my man are awesome!
very interested in purchasing ...
Could this hack work for reusable diaper bags?
Awesome thank you very much 😊
When it comes to taking the trash bag out does the munchkin diaper pail seal the normal trash bag at the bottom when you take it out?
The normal trash bag is already sealed at the bottom
Can you make a video showing how to use a plastic shopping bag in the munchkin diaper pail?
Ha it would be the same way
would likely be the same? but, it would get "filled" a lot quicker than a standard 13 gallon tall trashbag...?
This is a good hack, but I don't have a refill ring, just the diaper pail :( is there a hack for that?
Unfortunately you’ll need to buy one :(
You can still out in a regular garbage bag it'll just took funny
Brilliant 😀
Wow this saves so much money
Thanks!
this. is. genius!!!! thank you!!

Really? I don't get the smell. Our Munchkin has an area on the underside of the lid for adding a smell sanitizer, and it does the job.
MatrixPrime yes, mine is same exact munchkin and the smell is unbearable once bag gets half full.
You cant put 60 diapers in any type of bag abd expect it not to smell.

Buy a normal trash can, what’s the point of having a diaper genie or a munchkin if you use a normal trash bag.
It helps to stops the bad aroma or prevent having it out to your room
