❤ Try 3-4 bags inside each other. Tink it will work here to. Then you don't have to do the putting every time u replace... Kitchen trash: Put 5-6 trash bags inside each other and alufoil+a thick good serviet in the bottom of the trash. It will help if there is a leak of the trash. We use 5-7 rubber band to hold our trash bag in place. (bind together to one) The 5-6 trash bag is very useful, now u risk no leaks and when u shift the trash, a new one is already in place. ❤ Love from Denmark 🙏🎄🎅

This is freaking genius... Haha see what I did there. I'm actually just getting one because I have a service dog and I live in a town home with a small yard. It just makes more sense to keep one of these outside so I can scoop and then drop it in the genie is opposed to putting dirty bags in the garage garbage can or leaving the garbage can outside which you can't do anyways. I use this outside for my doggos poop too! My neighbor happened to be throwing away a perfectly good diaper genie and I saw it as an amazing opportunity to use it for dog poop considering I don’t have a kid lol. It’s been the best! This hack will make it even better though because those damn bags are pretty stupid expensive!
This is great! I have the expression diaper genie so it is a bit smaller and the only modification I needed to do is to tie the bottom of the to prevent the bag from getting too full and not being able to pull the bag out of the top.

I'm looking at reviews for diaper disposal container. While this is a good demonstration, it seems as though you are defeating one of the purposes of the Diaper Genie, which is to avoid diaper odors by having the bag closed off each time you pinch the top, cut and tie it to toss it out. With this "hack", it looks like you've just gone and turned it into a regular trash can.
I was using a trash can with lid and it was ok at first, cheap and easy. but as my daughter got older the smell got worse. I don't know why.... so I was forced to get a genie. I didn't want one. I don't like gimmicks but I couldn't stand the smell anymore so I bit the bullet and bought a used genie for $2! the refills are $6 so I might just use it for poop diapers and regular pail for pee diapers.
I am not using the garage bin and not the plastic I just use the grocery plastic bags and I change bags two times a day if there is poo I don't keep it at home on time put it away
You could make multiple bags but that won't change the max quantity a DP bag can hold. Meaning 270 max if you're able to make 10 bags from it; each bag would hold a Max of 27 diapers at a time. If you've ever used one of these DP you'd know that you can't fit 270 diapers in each little bag you can make from it.
Then you're doing something wrong. This is no different than a regular diaper genie refill. The only difference is the bag doesn't need to be cut and tied up, and it needs to be replaced with each empty.
Ive tried this hack, just like others online...it works as to saving money and using the reg garbage bags BUTTTTTT... the diaper smell is 10x worst lingering around the area this can is at. I think thats the reason the refills are designed so narrow and tight. This is a fail then 👎
The big problem with this idea is that regular trash bags are single layer and they do NOT keep odors in. I've used doggie bags, ziplock bags - you name it - for pet waste and the smell still gets out. Only the diaper genie/pet genie and maybe some of the copycat refills have the seven layer plastic that really does keep the smells in.
What are you talking about? Seven layers ? Regular trash bags are one layer that is way thicker than the tissue like thin genie refills. What 7 layers are you talking about???
Edwin Jungman a genie really holds the smell. I also have a one year old, and a hand me down genie. I can do this once I do not need the genie anymore. but looks like a Hassel lol

when you just put the diapers in a regular trash bin the room will smell like poop... we were actually given 2 diaper genies at one of my baby showers, so I returned one and kept the other. We loved the diaper genie but quickly realized the cost of the refills is so expensive. Diaper genies really do keep the smell away/in, so this hack is super useful imo! I was just standing next to our diaper genie thinking there must be some way I can use just a regular bag, googled it and came across a few videos like this!
This is pretty silly. The idea of the Diaper Genie seems to be ease of use and convenience. replacing the continuous roll with an individual bag seems to me to defeat the Unique Selling Proposition, convenience and simplicity.
fredsmoney actually the point of the diaper genie is that it keeps the room smelling like dirty diapers because of the double air lock unlike trashcans. My girlfriend does this and it works well

Since the container is plastic, it’s porous and doomed to smell anyway. I owned one of these and even with the proper refills it still stunk

the smell was simply change of diet. she stopped drinking milk and started having table food and so the poop changed!
