I have looked at so many videos on self-massage lymphedema As I had Lumpectomy surgery on my left breast , And This is the best Self-Massage on video so far Step by step with a lovely calm instruction Thank you so very much 👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
I am very pleased with this video. I have a registered lymphatic massage therapist who gave me a printed self-massage instruction sheet . Your Video Is more explicit and extremely helpful. Thank you Joyce Scott
So grateful for finding this video 🙏 ! Thank You! Two weeks after removing my right armpit nodes and not enough info to help ease my concerns provided by doctors or websites.
I very much appreciate this video. this came out of nowhere for me and I'm in a foreign country so was scared and didn't know what to do. Your video calmed me and helped me help myself. Thanks again.
I wish there was more therapist around and yes the ones I do know, I wish they would tell you everything you need to know and do what they supposed to do.
I don't have lymphedema but I do struggle with constant swollen painful lymphnodes. This video is great for any type of fluid build up major or minor! Going to incorporate this into my daily routine for pain relief. Thank you!
Thank you!! for this post,, I had a DMX in November and a second surgery in Dec and have been suffering with swelling. This video has really helped me with my chest/breast swelling and pain.
thank you.....I've been looking for a new massage routine that addresses mid arm and elbow. I've been using it for 2 weeks. I like the long strokes on the arms rather than short circular strokes....makes sense to clear nodes more often. Will still have to order a III sleeve, but I am hopeful for a II by summer.
This is the best help with lymphedema that I’ve found after a mastectomy with sentinel node biopsy. I received a handout brochure for upper body gentle exercise of neck stretches, torso turns, and arms lifts and stretches as my therapy from my local PT department which made the lymphedema worse. I’ve had better success using your massage therapy and am much more comfortable.
Great Video and thank you for sharing. I recently had Breast Cancer, Lymphatic Surgery all my lymph nodes removed from my under armpit. What additional exercise can I do to avoid Lymphedema?
Thank you for sharing. Is there any video translated to Spanish? My mother-in-law found your video very useful, but she doesn't speak English and that'd be more than perfect for her.
I can't wait to do this thank you so much it is helping me with hypertension in my left arm I was wondering if this is happening because I injured my pinky and the ring finger I can't bend my pinky into a fist I wonder if I need to have my hand reset
Is there any risk of spreading the hitherto undiagnosed recurrence of cancer ,especially from one breast to another when you stroke from one side to other??
Thank you for this video. I had bilateral mastectomy in April and have had lymphadema under one arm, because a lymph node was removed. None of my docs gave me info to relieve the fluid. It ended up around one breast and hindered me gettin a saline fill in expander. Just doing this twice has given me relief. I've seen difference in the puffiness as well. Should i just do this once a day? Thanks again!
I am a certified lymphedema therapist, physical therapist and massage therapist. There is no research I am aware of that asserts you can prevent lymphedema with manual lymph drainage. I also thinks it is a fantasy that you can will your body to make new lymphatic pathways via MLD. It can be useful for those who have lymphedema already.
If a patient practices some yoga additionally to the massage, what should be first, the exercises or the massage? Would you recommend any particular kind of body lotion or oil when applying the massage? How often should this massage be applied? Can the exercises with the thumb and elbow be repeated on a regular basis? Thank you for your time and answers to my questions.
Her handout do mention don't put any oil or lotion when massage, so u can feel ur own skin better and won't pressing too hard. Her handout suggest do it daily
My wife doesn't have Lymph nodes under her armpit, they were removed during breast cancer therapy - that is why she has Lymphedema . Does she just ignore that bit of the video?
I'm not a professional but as no one from the Mercy group seems to be answering. I would like to say that my lymphedema nurse told me that I should perform these exercises even though all my lymph nodes are removed I should massage under the armpit as well because there are other lymph nodes Around that armpit area
What if your "affected side" is also your "port side"? Two nodes in the left upper arm, just above my elbow are swollen & sore. My axillary lymph node on the left side was removed. My Mediport is on the left side. How do I do these?
