- We showed up to Glen Helen about a week ago and noticed one of our test riders RJ Wagemen on something very unique....a Suzuki RM250 in a current model frame. All we could get RJ to tell us about the bike is that its fast, fun, and he loves riding it. Only time will tell if something is to come of this bike...

Whoever built this thing had a really extensive understanding of fabrication. I don't think a lot of people watching understand what they are looking at. Awesome.

I was never a 4 stroker. Suzuki RM 250 is all I ever had except 1 2003 YZ 250 nice bike,sold that Quickly for another RM 250

George Nixon. I agree with you George my last bike was a 1990 CR500 and man what a beast! that was I sure miss those days! I brought up the subject to my wife this spring about buying some dirt bikes and I didn't get a positive answer. but she did let me get my Harley but I still like to get a dirt bike because I'm 58 and getting older but I feel like I'm in my late 20s and like we said back in the day let's go plant some corn.....!! a 500! can rip up a tire quick! there's nothing better than the smell of a two-stroke just like you said Ride Hard Ride safe..

Nothing can't beat the 2 strokes when it comes to sound and power delivery feel . . . from a single cylinder Husqvarna chain saw to a 16V149T Detroit Diesel.

people have been doing this for years.....like the cr500 AF, it just takes all the manufacturers to release a new range of 2t's and there will be a surge in popularity. it will be like the 90's allover again.

To say that bike is quick is an understatement. Straight off the showroom floor that bike is quick, in the hands of a factory supported bike (if there was one) that bike would shred the competition. Just my opinion.
Steve Johnson And? 250's make the same hp as 450s, 450'd have a bit more torque, but 2 strokes are lighter. But want to know the 2 strokes problem in racing? Wheelspin. Smooth power is overall way better choice on a motocross track
If the 2 strokes were to make a comeback it would be 250 vs 250F, not 250 vs 450 as the 450 are just faster.

I prefer 2 strokes, but 450s are faster in every way but weight.
Linus H Forsberg They are not. A proper 250 2 stroke does around 50hp from the rear wheel. A 450 does ~2-5 hp more. Also 450's have slightly more torque. But 2 strokes are much lighter. The thing what makes 2 strokes look "slower" on a track, is that they dont have smooth power at all, what causes wheelspin.
Thats why 4 strokes can come out of a corner faster. But if we would compare these two on a road, they would be equal.
I wanna do this with a kx250 and a kx500

Ride with Zach Yeah, their cable actuated clutch leaves a bit too be desired. Austria is going ballistic on 2T r&d and they're way ahead.
Hope they all kept their tooling for the return of new 2T... it's going to happen.
bike is updated almost every year but still a decade-old tech.

Did u guys see the 2001 Honda clip. Best year out there most u guys not born yet. U guys mised the real bike races. In the colaseam in Toronto in 1984 was a blast all my buddy's where racing. Was a blast. Mogals narly.

as an owner of a 16' YZ250X i have to say.. Yamaha did some great things with that thing
The big four Japanese dirtbike manufacturers should confront President Trump over the legeslation that has prevented the importation and advancement of two strokes in America. Trump has stated that he is willing to work toward deregulation of all American businesses that have suffered due to over regulation and I think wiping out a whole category of motorcycles with 2 stroke motors would make a good case.
Yamaha never stopped making the yz250, they make the yz250x now too. KTM, Beta, Gas Gas, Husqvarna and Sherco all still make and import 2 stroke bikes. If you want Honda to build 2 strokes then vote with your wallet and stop buying 4 strokes.
you know all we gotta do is, everybody, put there demand out there for two strokes..and the supply would return!

I have a 2006 rm 250 ide like to find a newer RMZ 250 roller and do the same thing.
I'm building one in my garage right now, except mine will be using a real full floater rear end off a '85 250.

when will Suzuki launch a decent enduro model?
Happened a long time ago I have a 85 rm 250 and that is the best enduro bike a person could hope for in the north east trails that mother ripped I think you can put rmx lights on it if thats what you need but if you just want a good woods bike the old rm was a great handling very quick great time try starting thear you might be surprized how happy you will be I rode that bike about 30 miles a day through mud on rocks in sand up monster hills across rivers with slimey rocks it flew now I want to ride any how try a rm
So now that we know that this was a custom build and not a factory project, could someone chime in and tell us who did the frame mods?

Hi savage bike. I have a rm125 06 I was looking at changing my Steel frame to a Luminum fram. I see you had to custom a monut to the top of Engine to the frame.
Was there eney mods for the bottom of the engine mounts?

I've heard something about Suzuki maybe releasing 2 strokes in 2018 but this is just click bait you can tell how modified the frame is this isn't factory because it looks a sloppy in a couple of places were they modified it

Real motocross is raced with a 2 stroke,just how I feel.I grew up in s.cal saddleback park.
Would this beat the 4 stroke 250's that the factories race with?

Cool. But if Suzuki is trying to stay revelant in the game, they really need to update/innovate their 4t bikes because they have really fallen off in the shootouts for lacking hp. They don't really have any superstar-riders in the US right now for marketing either. And if or when they do, he'll be on a 4t. (That's not a bash to the 2t)
I would buy one. I love my 2007 RM 250 2T. Hopefully they have sorted the shitty gearbox out.

A 300 2 strokes is faster than a 450. Maybe not on a track, because of the crazy wheelspin 2 strokes do. But on a straight. 300 would win

***** Really? But 250 2 strokes are equal with 450s on a straight like or on asphalt though. They aren't equal on track because of the way they deliver power. It's not smooth like the power of 450's. So 250's get alot of wheelspin and they can't exit the corner as fast
And also that was on dirt. 250's are lighter. They would be equal on asphalt
