You missed the biggest reason girls who are insanely hot are obsessed with their looks. Looks don't actually just happen, not to the standards we have in modern society. They take effort. Being insanely hot (usually) REQUIRES a degree of obsession with your looks to make them that good. It's not just privilege. It's effort.
Depends very much on your definition of "hot". If you think lots of makeup, botox, stylizing, waxing and accessorizing is hot, then yes, I can see how you'd think that being hot requires effort and an obsession. If you find natural looks (none of the above) hot, then your statement is puzzling, because there doesn't seem to be much effort required. The truth is likely in the middle, but for some people, it doesn't require that much and certainly no obsessions with looks.
@@JensRiggelsen The reality is, even if a woman has "natural" hotness, she is still in competition with others that can achieve her level with makeup, or close enough to make no difference, so to stand out, she is encouraged to do all those things. Now, not all women do this, some women are stronger minded, more grounded. They don't wear makeup, or do all these other things, but that is a tiny minority and to pretend it isn't is disingenuous.
The line 'But last week, she died' Dunno if I'm right or not. (Probably not) But it feels like he's basing that of how women were treated and forced to act a few decades ago in the whole nuclear family type situation. Thus the line relates to the fact that yes, there were woman basically brain washed into living like tht but they're all just.. either dead or that old now? Like I said, probably wrong buti t got me thinking. xD
I feel like What he was pointing towards is how a girl can Actually somewhat meet all the expectations of a guy, but trying to do so kills her, whereas Guys mostly can't meet all the expectations a girl has from him, Again, Just an opinion 😊
I met that woman. I was with her for all of 6 months. She was/is everything any man could ever dream of. Everything he describes in this song and more. Turns out I'm not prince charming and she ended it. She wouldn't settle for me and I can't blame her. I genuinely hope she's happy now though. I wish her all the best and she deserves nothing less.
I would not blame Disney as tales of Chivalry and prince charming started in the Middle Ages. Books & the film industry had many heroes & Damsels in the very early stages of silent films as well. Disney just did animated versions of similar stories of heroes and damsels in distress. We all need to temper our expectations, and there definitely are both men & women who learn they are being shallow and can not find the perfect mate.

7:16 I think most of us are more self-conscious and it's hard to appreciate a part of your body the same way men do, when it is bleeding for almost a week every month and making yourself feel miserable and in most cases even hurt you.
Your take on the genital question slaps. Loving your content. I binged both of your channels over the last ten hours. I even love when you’re wrong or don’t get the song (this take is not an example) and actively fucking learn on it. Loving your stuff dude.
"A feminist that likes to pay for stuff" isn't contradictory. The line basically describes a person that believes in the equality of men and women who nevertheless has the disposable income and generous nature to fill the traditionally male role of paying for the meal. It's a desire to have your cake and eat it as you said but for different reasons then you stated.
Did you make that up yourself to protect your ego? Because that makes absolutely no sense in a song literally about contradictions and UNresonable expectations. The contradiction (and the obvious meaning of the line) is that women want both a feminist who believes in equality and simultaniosly they want the guy to pay for everything (not equality).
You're trying too hard to over-think a joke. Generally, a feminist would be against any traditional gender roles, which would include the man paying for everything. I can personally attest to the fact that there are lots of women out there that think of themselves as femenist but also still expect men to continue their gender roles at the same time, which is indeed contradictory, or at the very least hipocritical.
@@BillGD bo burnham never just makes jokes he want people to think about what he is saying and have thoughtful discussions about his music. so no they are not over-thinking a joke
I love this song. I actually have a few lyrics on my bio on hinge (dont care if it hurts I wasnt rly impressed with hinge). But I have met someone on there. Its extremely early but she's out of my league beautiful, plays games (video games and board games), seems really down to earth and simple, and seems rly awesome overall. Just waiting for when I blow it 😢. Just seems a lot of people dating need to hear this song. Find someone that is deserving and who you think you could build a life with, flaws and all.

Its not necessarily that you're a guy but you're heterocentric. It kinda explains your more conservative takes on certain issues. My parents are the same. i wore a pink shirt and he looked shocked. Stereotypes in this song were all heteronormative. At least in its vernacular.
I didn't read all of the comments, sorry, but i'm prety sure thqt when he said "she died" he was refering to some kind of feminicide... and more than sad, I think it brings out how much Bo trusts us to to read between the lines, and give it a bit more visibility...

Honey...there's this thing called autism which makes it hard to detect sarcasm, and our lovely content creator here has been open about having that, so let's lay off my boy. Thanks love
This guy's "reaction" is a classic example of how to be a killjoy and crush the humor of a comedy bit. I think you were only able to wait 5 seconds until you launched into a political diatribe rather than just listening to the song and commenting afterward. Maybe you finally got the joke by the end of the song but given you immediately launch into political crap I lost interest in your opinion so whatever. I'll be sure to tell TH-cam to not recommend your channel anymore.
