      But what if you're grounded. You try touching and smelling things, but you're still anxious. You go for a walk but return to anxiety when you're home, etc.? :( I used to reach out to a friend, but they're seemingly no longer a friend, which tears me up.

    When my anxiety is bad, I do feel unplugged but in the mind. My mind literally goes blank. I can't think straight or even understand words so there's no way I can remember all this in the moment lol

    Can I work with anxiety attacks full-time without anyone knowing I have this problem

  • @flymypg
    @flymypg ปีที่แล้ว +7

    One thing that can help (at least for me), is to briefly step back from what may be causing/triggering the anxiety to see if proximity is a factor.
    I have had people get very close during, say, a conversation at a loud party, but the good conversation left me confused when anxiety reared its head. I simply hadn't noticed the lack of space until, well, it noticed me. Stepping back briefly (using, perhaps, a fake sneeze or cough) lets me double-check my perception without bothering the other person. Should this be the case, I recommend moving to a place where I can have more space without ending the conversation.
    When proximity makes no difference, I often find there was no external trigger, meaning it's time for me to rest. My "social battery" has run down.
