    Thankyou for making this video, I think your the only one who's done this for the 4g69 engine on TH-cam. Most others are the 4g64, though similar it's not the exact same engine.

    For your information:
    Measure the valve clearances. There was a need for clarity. In the service manual on page 11A-11 specified gap intake: 0.20 mm (0.008 inch), Exhaust: 0.30 mm (0.012 inch). However, this is not true. More precisely, this is true for the Engine coolant temperature: 80 − 95°C (176 − 203°F). It's very inconvenient. Therefore, open the page 11B-22. Here are written valve clearances for a cold engine. Standard value (in cold state):
    Intake side: 0.11 mm (0.004 inch)
    Exhaust side: 0.21 mm (0.008 inch)
    Intake side: 0.11 mm (0.004 inch)
    Exhaust side: 0.22 mm (0.009 inch)
    I've always removed the spark plugs on any car that I've done valve lash adjustments and or timing belts, used a coat hanger or rubber glove in the spark plug hole to be double sure it's top dead center and it's ALWAYS been 100%. 🙂👍

    Thanks so much for the video. This procedure was very difficult to find without paying for it.

    This video helps a lot. It definitely gives me an idea on the process. I'm getting ready to adjust the valve lash on my 4B12 in the Lancer. Thank You.

    it's hard to tell on a 4g69 due to the injectors ticking. the ticking is mostly the injectors on that motor. :)

    In the video I hear you begin with stating that after TDC a 360 degree rotation is needed. Then later on it is difficult to tell if you are instructing to turn an additional 180 degrees. 540 degrees? Is this to go from the compression stroke over to the exhaust stroke? The video does leave a beginner lost with questions.

    try changing the timing belt tensioner. they get weak on the 4g69 causing it to smack against the water pump making the same noise as the noise made by an un-lashed valve

    Friend, thanks for your explanation and I wanted to ask you since my English is little, you say that by placing piston one in top dead center I adjust at the same time the 4 valancines of cylinder one, the 2 intake of cylinder 2 and 2 of cylinder 3 exhaust ?? and then turn 360 0 are 180 degrees to adjust the rest of the rocker arms at the same time thanks

    Hi bro, found this video of yours really good. One question though, as this would be my first time attempting valve settings, in what gear should the vehicle be when adjusting? Please reply, need to know real bad. Just don't want to screw up.

    Can you not also be at TDC during the exhaust stroke thereby observing no play in the exhaust valves? Helpful video, thanks

    O so you do adjust valves for gasoline cars as well as diesel cars thought it was only for diesel ... hummm how often should valve adjustment be done?

    I like to adjust valve on rocker arm for powerol 3 pinston engine

  • @mikepullman2513
    @mikepullman2513 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    That looks extremely simple. I want to try this myself on my car to save me 250 dollars. Lol. Question tho if you're still reading comments. The positioning of the valves you adjust with the notch top and center and after the 180 turn are they all same location in all cars or do they vary?

    I am going to do this on my galant....same engine.
    Did you have to remove the spark plugs?

    • @mohammedhakumi5959
      @mohammedhakumi5959 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      no need , spark plug usually removed to make sure that the piston is at top dead -center which means that both valves must be closed at that time and you can then adjust the clearance

      dee bush Piston #1 is always the closest one to the timing belt/chain.

      Number 1 is definitely on the timing belt side of that 2.4 engine.
