  • I bought a 2013 BMW S1000rr from Built from the bottom that was a project of his from a while ago that he lost interest in so I picked it up for $3000! the BMW does have a salvage and 50k or more miles so it'll be interesting for sure! y'all stay tuned for upcoming videos on the S1000rr. SO CJ media and I tore down the bmw s1000rr, inspected it, and got it running! Then last video I took the bike outside to a tree and tied it to it then proceed to hook a heavy duty ratchet strap to my truck and use it to BEND my sub-frame back because it was bent in the wreck! I repaired the S1000rr Instrument cluster that had a damaged stepper motor! I install the new timing chain cover and engine case sliders, new rear set, and repaired the little plastic cover to the ignition. In this video I replaced the front brakes and flushed all the lines to make sure it stops like a top!

    DOT 3 ? WTF

That’s all I had for rn, I’ll be flushing it again soon. But in all reality, the biggest difference is dot 4 absorbs more water quicker than dot 3 and it has a higher boiling temp so if I’m not racing it or tracking in reality it’s probably fine. I know for a fact I will not be doing any hard-core racing/braking to get it anywhere near boiling temp at least for a very long time until I get this bike 100% dialed in but even then it’s still probably gonna be more of a fun weekend rider/ commuter not a race bike.

I’d rather have fresh dot 3 in it, than 5 year dot 4🤷🏽‍♂️ it won’t hurt anything for the first few test rides.

@@Benjamminoutdoors Oh I understood. Here in Brazil, on these bikes 99% of people use DOT 5.1 so I found it strange to use Dot3.
      Keep up the content!

@@DH4Life interesting, I’ve never seen dot 5.1. This bike normally takes dot 4 but I used 3 temporarily.

@@Benjamminoutdoors Yes, in general all motorcycles come with the specification for the use of DOT4.
DOT 5.1 is superior to DOT4. Here in Brazil we use Motul's DOT 5.1 a lot.
5.1 is an upgrade over DOT4
If you are interested, remember that it is 5.1 not 5.0.
      Never use DOT 5.0!!!
