It's disheartening to see people engulfed in weekly distractions while tyrants quietly pursue their agendas. As Manju rightly pointed out, citizens need to take responsibility for their part in this. We can't solely blame the tyrants if we don't raise our voices or take action when it's needed. Let's work together to make a difference.

At the moment our main problem is our inability to produce our food at an affordable cost. Not very high-tech stuff. Service industries like banks and telecommunication are using automation comparable to a very highly developed country. There is no shortage of that stuff. Shortage is in the production of basic food at an affordable cost. What else can you say when you have to import eggs. Basically our food production cost is 5 times that of in India. Do you know that a kilo of carrot is 32 I Rs in India while it is Rs 2000 in Sri Lanka. Even if you take beans it is the same story. The main culprits are very high power cost and fertilizer cost. Exorbitant cost of power is unexplained, when we produce 40% of our power requirement at very low cost using hydro electricity. There obviously is some massive corruption somewhere.
